Avril Lavigne Engaged to Brody Jenner?

What the hell, is Avril Lavigne engaged again already? She married back in 2007 to Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley, but that ended and the divorce was final less than a year ago. She’s since moved on and has been exclusively dating Brody Jenner for about a year, but we may be hearing wedding bells soon because sources are saying the couple is engaged now.

Per Celebitchy (via Star):

On Feb. 9, during the duo’s whirlwind trip to Europe, the divorced singer, 26, e-mailed a bandmate a picture of her left hand with what appears to be an engagement ring on it – with the subject line “ha ha.” And insiders tell Star that Brody, 27, did indeed pop the question to his girlfriend of about a year. “Avril has hinted to pals that she thought Brody was planning a big surprise during their trip to France,” says an insider. “It’s just her style to be coy rather than coming out with an announcement right away.”

Is Avril really trying to go down the alter another time? The first time worked out so well! Does Hot Topic have a bridal registry?

New Music Friday – Sum 41

After spending nearly all of last year on the road, including their 4th headlining run on the 2010 Vans Warped Tour – RIAA platinum Island Records group SUM 41 has completed the most long-awaited new studio album of their career. ‘Screaming Bloody Murder,’ arriving March 29th jumps out with the title tune single, “Screaming Bloody Murder,” impacting now at Alternative Rock radio formats.

Screaming Bloody Murder, which opens up a second decade for Sum 41 on Island Records, marks the first album to be fully self-produced Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley. The two-time JUNO Award-winning Canadian band is: Deryck Whibley (lead vocals, guitar, keyboard/piano), Tom Thacker (lead guitar, vocals), Cone McCaslin (bass, vocals), and Steve Jocz (drums, vocals).

Screaming Bloody Murder follows-up ‘Underclass Hero,’ released July 2007. In the interim, Sum 41 issued their first career-spanning collection, ‘All the Good Sh*t: 14 Solid Gold Hits 2000-2008.’ It compiled singles from their debut mini-album ‘Half Hour Of Power‘ (2000), and all four of their full-length studio albums: ‘All Killer No Filler‘ (2001), ‘Does This Look Infected?‘ (2002), ‘Chuck‘ (2004), and Underclass Hero (2007). Also featured on All the Good Sh*t is one previously unreleased track (“Always”), and live performances of two favorites, “The Hell Song” and “Motivation,” both also included in studio versions.

Prior to All the Good Sh*t, Sum 41’s most recent studio album Underclass Hero debuted at #1 (and earned instant gold certification) in Canada and Japan – where it ousted fellow Island band Bon Jovi’s album ‘Lost Highway’ from the top in Japan after a one month stand at #1. In an unprecedented move to launch Underclass Hero, the band performed the album live in its entirety on their website, www.sum41.com. Underclass Hero was produced (for the first time) by the band’s own Deryck Whibley, who had also written and produced tracks for Avril Lavigne’s album, ‘The Best Damn Thing.’

Underclass Hero followed-up Chuck (October 2004), #10 on the Billboard 200 with over 1 million copies sold worldwide. The album was named for the United Nations worker who daringly rescued Sum 41 from bombs and gunfire during the filming of a documentary in the Congo with nonprofit group War Child Canada. Chuck spun off three consecutive Top 20 Modern Rock chart singles: “We’re All To Blame,” “Pieces,” and “No Reason.”

Now, fans can purchase the new single, “Screaming Bloody Murder” on iTunes and Amazon today. For more information and updates on the band including tour plans, check out their official site, www.Sum41.com, as well as their MySpace and Facebook pages and look for Screaming Bloody Murder in stores everywhere March 29th!

Good Charlotte ‘Cardiology’ CD GIVEAWAY!!

Good Charlotte are a band who need no introduction. Originally formed as a pop-punk act in Waldorf, Maryland, in 1996, the band vocalist Joel Madden and his identical twin brother guitarist Benji Madden along with guitarist Billy Martin, bassist Paul Thomas and the latest edition drummer Dean Butterworth have sold over 10 million records to date, penned countless mainstream radio hits such as ‘The Anthem,’ ‘Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous,’ and ‘Hold On‘ and shared the stage with everyone from Justin Timberlake to Third Eye Blind.

That said, fourteen years deep into a career full of milestones the band could not be more excited to release their fifth full-length and Capitol Records debut ‘Cardiology‘ almost exactly a decade after their debut disc ‘Good Charlott’e hit the streets. “When I listen to our first record it’s so innocent and I think that we really managed to recapture that feeling with this record without actually repeating what we’ve done in the past,” Joel explains. “I get the same feeling of excitement listening to this record that I did when we first started making music, which was so refreshing for us.”

However in order for the band to reach the state of mind where they could make Cardiology, first they had to take some time to step away from the band and live their lives. “Over the past few years most of us have started families and had so many new experiences so with this record we wanted to take that wall down that we may have had in the past and let our fans back in again like we did on our earlier albums,” Benji elaborates. “I love everything we’ve done, but we kind of had our defenses up on some of those albums whereas on this one we decided to write from the heart and be vulnerable again.”

In order to capture the intensely personal nature of Cardiology last January the band reentered the studio with longtime producer Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne). “The first day we went into the studio with Don it felt so right and the entire record got made in six or eight weeks because he really understood our vision and what we wanted to accomplish this time around,” Benji recalls adding that standout songs like ‘Silver Screen Romance‘ and energetic first single ‘Like It’s Her Birthday‘ got written during the recording session when the band experienced a final burst of creative energy. “It was just so exciting to hear these songs take shape and we didn’t want to stop writing.”

From the upbeat pop feel of ‘Sex On The Radio‘ to slower, more sensitive tracks like ‘1979‘ and ‘Harlow’s Song (Can’t Dream Without You)‘ and synth-driven party anthems like ‘Like It’s Her Birthday’ and ‘Last Night,’ Cardiology is a case study in all of Good Charlotte’s various musical identities and sees them finally reconciling all of their influences into an album that proves the band are more relevant now than ever. “One of the things I’m proudest about this band is that we don’t have two records that sound alike and I think that’s helped keep us around,” Benji responds when asked about the album’s inherent versatility. “I think there are some elements on this record that will remind people of our first album and then there are some elements that will remind them of [2007's] ‘Good Morning Revival‘, too.”

“A lot of the lyrics on this album are about being in a different place in my life,” Joel, who had his second child last September, explains. “There are some songs like ‘Harlow’s Song (Can’t Dream Without You)’ that are directly about my kids or being in love and how being in a relationship changes the whole experience of my life, but a lot of the lyrics are more introspective.” A great example of the band’s attitude shift is ‘There She Goes,’ a song that sees the band revisiting the same personal narratives that endured them to countless fans all over the world and sees them once again wearing their hearts on their tattooed sleeves. “Obviously we’re all in different places in our lives but we’re giving our fans that same honestly we always have.”

That honesty is dripping all over the songs on Cardiology and the band are thankful that they had the opportunity to have some extra time to fully realize this material. “I don’t think that a lot of these songs could have written a few years ago and time can often be the recipe,” Benji explains, citing ’1979′ as a personal milestone. “All of our fans who have been with us know the whole story about our dad leaving, but with ’1979′ I wanted to show the time when my parents were together and happy,” he continues. “It’s a song that I couldn’t have written a few years ago and I think it’s all a part of growing up.”

Ultimately as much as Cardiology looks back on the band members’ experiences, it’s also a look ahead at the next decade of Good Charlotte, and they couldn’t be more excited to see what the future holds. “It’s funny because I’ve almost been in this band longer than I wasn’t in this band during my lifetime,” Benji explains. “I’ve never had a successful relationship as far as a wife or girlfriend, but I’ve had an amazingly successful relationship with my band and we’ve survived a lot of stuff that I don’t think most bands would be able to make it through because we know how to communicate and we’ve never sold each other out,” he adds.

“Opportunities come along and people could bail on the band and look out for themselves, but we’ve all stuck it out and that gives me faith that I’ll be able to do that someday in my own life,” Benji continues. “Getting to the point where we could make Cardiology took fifteen years of work but there are some situations where time is the only ingredient and you can’t rush it,” he adds. “That’s what this album is all about to me and I think our fans will recognize and appreciate that, too.”

Rihanna‘s new CD ‘Loud‘ isn’t out for another 8 days, but more an more tracks keep getting leaked on the internet. Last week we finally got to hear ‘Love the Way You Lie Part 2‘ with Eminem. Now another track has leaked. Makes you wonder if her record label will end up pushing the new CD out earlier… The song is called ‘Cheers‘. If you’re wondering who that familiar voice is in the background is – well, it’s Avril Lavigne.

Cut Cheers by dl-official

Per Just Jared:

Rihanna’s ‘Cheers’ Lyrics:

[Chorus]
Cheers to the freaking weekend
I drink to that, yeah yeah
Oh let the Jameson sink in
I drink to that, yeah yeah
Don’t let the bastards get you down
Turn it around with another round
There’s a party at the bar everybody put your glasses up and
I drink to that, I drink to that, I drink to that

Life’s too short to be sitting around miserable
People gonna talk whether you doing bad or good, yeah
Got a drink on my mind and my mind on my money, yeah
Looking so bomb, gonna find me a honey
Got my Ray-Bans on and I’m feeling hella cool tonight, yeah
Everybody’s vibing so don’t nobody start a fight, yeah-ah-ah-ah

(Chorus)

‘Bout to hop on the bar, put it all on my card tonight, yeah
Might be mad in the morning but you know we goin hard tonight
It’s getting Coyote Ugly up in here, no tyra
It’s only up from here, no downward spiral
Got my Ray-Bans on and I’m feeling hella cool tonight, yeah
Everybody’s vibing so don’t nobody start a fight, yeah

(Chorus x2)

Justin Bieber Is The New Face Of Proactiv

Justin Bieber has now found yet another way to invade our TV sets. Bieber is the latest high-profile pitchman for the skin-care product Proactiv, joining the likes of Jessica Simpson, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, and Mandy Moore in promoting the acne-fighting product. In a commercial, Bieber says he thought the product was only for “hardcore” cases but he now uses it too.

Per People:

“I know that for a teenager, it doesn’t matter how many people are looking at you, you don’t want acne on your face,” Justin says. “I’m in the limelight all the time…I’m constantly doing interviews, constantly doing photo shoots and, you know, I’m determined to keep myself clear,” Bieber tells PEOPLE exclusively. “Using Proactiv will help that.”

Bieber said in a recent interview to a media entity that he is a teenager and is aware of the problems one can face owing to acne, pimple and other eruptions at this age. He also added that he has to lead a hectic life which takes a toll on his skin. Therefore, he thinks it is high time he starts using the Proactiv anti acne products. Greg Renker, founder of Guthy-Renker which markets Proactiv, has said that with Bieber they hope to reach his “millions of fans of all ages” with its new campaign. And I’m sure sales of the product are going to benefit from the Bieber-Fever that has invaded the country.

Does anyone just expect him to burn himself out? The poor kid doesn’t even look like he has hit puberty to get pimples, much less able to sell a product on top of an already crazy, stretched life. But, then again, he could be the next Justin Timberlake.

Lindsay Lohan and Avril Lavigne Public Screaming Match

Avril Lavigne, like everyone else, is apparently not a fan of Lindsay Lohan. The two ‘wouldn’t touch them with a twenty foot pole’ free clinic regulars are said to have had a huge fight at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont recently. Avril was having dinner with a group of friends including latest replacement to the Hot Topic Brody Jenner, when Lindsay thought it’d be a good idea to come by the table to say hello.

Per NY Post:

“As soon as she approached, Avril launched at her and said: ‘Get the hell out of my face, you are fake, you are a loser. I don’t like false people. Stay away from me and my friends.’ Lindsay was furious and screamed back: ‘Don’t threaten me!’”

Obviously not too pleased with Avril’s reaction, Lohan then allegedly tried to get her kicked out, but security didn’t think Lavigne deserved the boot, so Lindsay packed up and left instead. Avril was apparently with people that Lindsay wanted to impress and that is the only reason she was being nice.

Poor Lindsay. She can add Avril’s name to her Axis of Evil along with the showers, sobriety, E*Trade and her father/Lord of the Famewhores. Paris Hilton also took a ride on the lets-all-hate-Lindsay-Lohan Tilt-O-Whirl. The Wonkiest of the Wonks cornered Lindsay in her lair (the bathroom) and made her cry (vodka tears). Click HERE for that full story. Why Avril feels superior is the real head scratcher here. It’s like irrelevant pot calling the drunken kettle skank.
