Lady Gaga Releases Country Version Of ‘Born This Way’ – Listen HERE

Are country music fans ready to put their paws up and chant “Don’t be a drag, just be a queen?” The song that is tearing up hot 100 on the Billboard Charts has been, well… remastered of sorts. Lady Gaga and her crew teamed up to release a country version of “Born This Way.” This version, co-produced by Mama Monster herself, opens with the same spoken part about “H-I-M,” but then the synthesizers and thumping beat are replaced with a guitar, some wailing harmonica, a slowed-down tempo and a revised bridge.

And she even changed up the lyrics a little in the middle of the song!

Per E! Online:

“If we want to make it country, baby, it’s OK/ ‘Cause I was born, I was born, I was born this way/ From London, Paris, Japan, back to U.S.A./ I was born on the road, I was born to brave.”

When Lady Gaga first made the announcement yesterday that this new version of her #1 hit would be released, the country world was a little weary. After all, this is the woman known for meat dresses and living inside of an egg for three days. But when that tweet came at 3am and YouTube was bombarded with Gaga’s Little Monsters, it became apparent that this girl kinda knew what she was doing. Via Twitter, Lady Gaga told her followers the country version was a “surprise” to thank them for making “Born This Way” No. 1 for six weeks in a row on the Billboard Hot 100.

I think the mix is somewhat of a mess. However, I think I like this version more than the overproduced mess of the original. I give her credit for doing it, but she would have been better with a more stripped down version. What do YOU think? Sound off in the comment box below!

Lady Gaga Grammy Awards Performance 2011 – VIDEO

Lady Gaga stole the red carpet with her arrival in a gigantic egg/womb. (Click HERE for pics of that…) The egg surfaced again for her first performance for ‘Born This Way.’ Wearing a flesh toned skirt and halter (I am guessing it was a a latex material) combination she and scores of dancers hit the stage.

It was tame performance. Almost boring compared to Gaga’s usual standard of pretending to hang herself on stage while dripping with blood or setting her piano on fire. Thoughts?

Elton John: Lady Gaga Will Obliterate ‘I Will Survive’ Anthem

In the issue of Rolling Stone hitting stands on Friday, Elton John makes several grand statements about his inner circle. Lady Gaga shared her new album with the new father and John thinks she has history making music on her hands. John is adamant her single will topple one of the most iconic songs belted out by Gloria Gaynor.

“I’ve heard her new album,” John says. “It’s amazing. The first single, ‘Born This Way,’ is the anthem that’s going to obliterate ‘I Will Survive.’ I can’t think of how huge it’s going to be.”

He also calls out his friend Billy Joel for his problems with alcohol and drugs.

“He’s going to hate me for this, but every time he goes to rehab they’ve been light,” John says. “When I went to rehab, I had to clean the floors. He goes to rehab where they have TVs. I love you, Billy, and this is tough love. Billy, you have your demons and you’re not going to get rid of them at rehab light. You’ve got to be serious. People adore you, they love you and respect you. You should be able to do something better than what you’re doing now.”

Joel has received treatment for his alcohol and substance abuse problems several times. In 2002 he checked into a treatment center in Connecticut. In March of 2005 he spent 30 days in the Betty Ford Clinic.

In the issue Elton also mentions his unlikely, but lasting friendship with Eminem. The two still speak on the phone and has remained an unmovable force in Em’s recovery.

“We call each other c*nts,” John says. “He’s worked really hard at sobriety and it’s changed him so much. He’s also got a great sense of humor. When David and I had our civil partnership, he sent us a present. In a case, on velvet cushions, were to diamond cock rings. So there’s a homophobe for you [laughs].”

Another friend made the cut for Elton’s praise in the interview.

MTV VMAs 2010 – WINNERS, VIDEOS, PHOTOS

Last night music’s heavy hitters walked a white carpet and of course Lady Gaga didn’t disappoint with her notorious penchant for wearing the oddest garb. However, Taylor Swift managed to steal the show again this year with her song about the Kanye West debacle that overshadowed last year’s MTV VMAs.

Taylor, standing barefoot on an all black stage, belted out her song ‘Still an Innocent’ that was written in response to West and his ridiculous ego. Kanye also performed at the 2010 MTV VMAs. Clad in an all red suit he played pranced around with some ballerinas on a white stage singing ‘Runaway’ which is being tossed around as ‘Toast for the Douchebags.’

Eminem also took the stage post bout in rehab and laid down two songs from his new album ‘Recovery.” Em, in his black jacket and hooded, stomped around the stage pleasing the crowd with ‘Not Afraid.’ Rihanna and her Ronald McDonald red hair joined Eminem on stage to sing the crowd favorite ‘Love the Way You Lie.’

The entire show was tame and lacked any real ‘shock’ factor that usually follows with tales of douchebaggery, celebs saying/doing naughty things or Eminem getting a face full of Borat’s rump. Even Lindsay Lohan making a debut after being jailed for being a drunken ho and rehabbed for being a crack Snorlax didn’t really wow anyone.
