Catherine Zeta Jones Enters Mental Hospital! – CONFIRMED

Get your WHAT?! faces out because Catherine Zeta Jones rep confirmed that she was in a mental hospital.

Jones’ husband, Michael Douglas, just survived a battle with a life threatening cancer and is now taking care of herself. Her rep stated (to People) that she spent 5 days at Silver Hill Hospital near New Canaan to deal with her bipolar issues.

“After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder. She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films.”

A friend says the brief stay was more of a preventative measure than an actual issue.

“There’s no question it’s been a stressful year,” the friend says. “Catherine has had deal with Michael’s illness and that’s been hard. She went in for a few days because she’s about to start working, and wanted to make sure she’s in top form, which she is.”

The only therapy I ever thought Catherine indulged in was a bubble bath while wearing a diamond tiara and glasses of champagne. Either way, get well and stay healthy boo!

Pete Postlethwaite Dies

The bad news continues to roll in on this first Monday of 2011.

Pete Postlethwaite has lost his battle with cancer. I know you kids are googling his name because you have no clue who he is because he isn’t a Jonas Brother or sparkles in the sunlight. Postlethwaite was one of those actors who quietly captured a screen without needing to go topless or sing about pre-pubescent angst in skinny jeans.

Pete has been in some fantastic films which recently included The Town, Inception and Clash of the Titans. You might also recognize him from The Omen, The Constant Gardener, Amistad, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Romeo + Juliet, DragonHeart, The Usual Suspects, In the Name of the Father, Alien 3 and Hamlet. Those are just a few of his collective 145 roles. Steven Spielberg once called him the “best actor in the world.” That is an understatement.

We will miss you Pete.

Dennis Hopper on Death’s Doorstep?!?

dennis-hopper.jpg

Let us hope that this is just dribble at the hands of the National Enquirer. The rag has claimed that Dennis Hopper has given up in his fight against cancer and is telling friends that he is “ready to die.”

“Dennis has come to grips with the fact that the end is likely near. He knew going into the last weeks of filming Crash that he was on borrowed time. His doctors had told him they were no longer able to contain the disease, and his condition had severely worsened.”

Hopper has been battling prostate cancer. He was reportedly diagnosed in September of 2009. The word is that it has spread to his bones and the experimental treatment he tried is not working.

I have my fingers crossed that all of this is entirely false. Best wishes for Dennis and his family.

New Music Friday – Muse

If you are a fan of the “Twilight” series, then you more than likely have heard of Muse, who had a hit off the movies’ soundtrack with the song titled “Supermassive Black Hole,” and the song “I Belong To You (New Moon Remix)” off the next movie in the saga “New Moon.” Considered to be an alternative rock band who formed in the early 90s from Teignmouth, England, the band consists of longtime friends Matthew Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme, and Dominic Howard. They’ve changed band names a number of times (from names such as Gothic Plague, Fixed Penalty, and Rocket Baby Dolls) before finally deciding on the name Muse. Their sound is a blend of alternative rock, classical, electronica, metal, spanish guitars, and progressive rock.

The band is known for their energetic live performances and front man Bellamy’s avid interests in unconventional things such as global conspiracy, extraterrestrial life, theology and the apocalypse. Their lyrical themes involve madcap conspiracy theory, revolutionary rabble-rousing, weird stuff about aliens, religions and other such classic Muse concerns. They have won many musical awards over the years, including 5 MTV Europe Awards 5 Q Awards, 6 NME Awards, and 2 BRIT Awards. The majority of these awards have been attributed to their live performances.

Muse have been heavily involved with “Teenage Cancer Trust,” a charity that focuses on the needs of teenagers and young adults with cancer, leukemia, Hodgkin’s and related diseases. They have performed at the Royal Albert Hall where they donated all money made from the merchandise stands to the charity. In September of 2008 all three members were awarded Honorary Doctorates of the Arts by Plymouth University.

Muse has released five studio albums, with their latest released this September titled “The Resistance.” It is the first Muse album to have been produced by the band itself. On its release, it topped the album charts in 19 countries and reached number 3 on the American album charts. The first single off the album, “Uprising,” has reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Alternative Songs chart becoming their 6th Top 10 single and first #1 on that chart. Patrick Swayze has Died Rumor 2.0

Which is false. Patrick Swayze is alive.

A Florida radion station, KissFM, has reported that Patrick Swayze has died. A rep confirmed the rumor is complete crap and has stated he is still alive, but thanks for being news hungry whores. The rumor started at Twitter with a headlines being tossed around centering around the Floridian station via BNO.

“Florida-based radio station KissFM reports that Patrick Swayze has reportedly died. BNO News is working to get more info.”

This is the second false alarm and goes to show you that you truly can’t believe the homeless guy who lives in the alley behind Pizza Hut.
