This is why I adore Cher. Well, one of the many reasons I adore Cher.
The ‘Believe’ songstress preached on Twitter about the Kardashians being ridiculous fame hookers. It all started with Robert’s bulbousness tramping around the ‘Dancing with the Hasbeens/Neverwases” (sounds like a Dr.Seuss book).
Last night at the 2010 AMA’s Christian Aguilera performed “Express” from the Cher fueled film, “Burlesque.” She straddled a chair in a black body hugging ensemble that showed off every curve. Naturally, this is direct path to pregnancy rumors.
Aguilera is going through a divorce with Jordan Bratman and is already said to be dating Matthew D. Rutler, a set assistant from “Burlesque.” She and Rutler were photographed leaving SoHo House with Joel Madden and Nicole Richie (click HERE for those photos).
As for the pregnancy rumors…they are just that. RUMOR. Girl has packed on a few pounds and I think it suits her. So what if she is seeking solace in corn dogs and hot men? As long as she isn’t snorting coke of the belly buttons of male prostitutes before locking them in a bathroom and beating up chandeliers, I think we can say “Oh, that Christina and her ho tricks!” before patting her on the head and sending her on her way.

This is why I love Cher. Her displays of oratorical fireworks never cease to make me giggle and jump up and down with glee and nod in agreement. She doesn’t disappoint with her interview for Vanity Fair…
Cher on Chaz: “If I woke up tomorrow in a guy’s body, I would just kick and scream and cry and f**king rob a bank, because I cannot see myself as anything but who I am—a girl. I would not take it as well as Chaz has. I couldn’t imagine it. She’s a very smart girl—boy! This is where I get into trouble. My pronouns are fucked. I still don’t remember to call her ‘him.’”
Cher on her family and drugs: “It’s weird, because both of my children had the same drug problems as their fathers—same drug of choice. My father was a heroin addict, and my sister’s father was an alcoholic. But it jumped us… I didn’t not do drugs because of moral issues. I tried a couple of drugs, but I never felt good out of control. I have the constitution of a fruit fly. I can’t do coffee, but I can do Dr Pepper.”
Cher on aging: “I think Meryl Streep is doing it great. The stupid bitch is doing it better than all of us! But I don’t like it. It’s getting in my way. I have a job to do, and it’s making my job harder. I’ve been screaming at the top of my lungs at my family, ‘Work out! Work out! Old age is coming!’ At some point you will need the strength. Who would have ever thought you would get this old?”
Cher’s view on taxes: “I would be willing to pay a lot more taxes, because I make a lot more money, but I don’t want to give them more to just f**k things up more. It really should fall on people like me to get together and do things to help the people in this country. If you’re not worrying about how to put food on your table, you [should be] worrying about why other people don’t have food on their table. I remember a great America where we made everything. There was a time when the only thing you got from Japan was a really bad cheap transistor radio that some aunt gave you for Christmas.”
Cher on Sarah Palin: “I got so obsessed with [C-SPAN] that it was kind of interfering with my life. Sarah Palin came on, and I thought, Oh, f**k, this is the end. Because a dumb woman is a dumb woman.”
Cher on Arizona governor, Jan Brewer: “She was worse than Sarah Palin, if that is possible. This woman was like a deer in headlights. She’s got a handle on the services of the state, and I would not let her handle the remote control.”

Lady Gaga was dubbed a “childish diva” by Anna Wintour, according to the sometimes outrageously dressed singer’s biographer. Maureen Callahan, author of “Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga,” claims the ice queen Vogue editor-in-chief was left unimpressed after Gaga performed at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala in May.
Per The Sun:
“She (Lady GaGa) sort of had a meltdown before she went on and as it was described to me, Anna was really none too pleased with her.” She added: “Anna wasn’t impressed. She thought she was just behaving like a childish diva and not the professional who was about to perform for her peers; these incredibly famous designers and celebrities.”
Lady Gaga may have asked Cher hold her meat purse during her acceptance speech Sunday night, but she probably won’t be accepting another gig to perform for Wintour. Callahan further claims that Wintour refused to bow to Gaga’s alleged demands, leaving quite the bad taste in her mouth.
“She sequestered herself in the back room for a good hour. She was late to perform and I also heard that she had been demanding things. She went to Anna at the last minute and was saying, ‘I’d like it to be this way.’ And Anna just said no. I don’t think she’s used to hearing that very often. When you’re dealing with two egos like that, it gets interesting.”
Quite interesting, indeed! I don’t think Gaga should be sitting around waiting for any future invites from Wintour!

She wore a rather demure (for her anyway) dress on the white carpet entry to the awards. As for the show itself, she wore a dress made of meat. Lady Gaga won the award for Video of the Year and walked on stage in her protein laden dress and even asked presenter Cher to “hold her meat purse.”
Later on Ellen she explained her choice in a meat dress…
“It’s certainly no disrespect to anyone that’s vegan or vegetarian. As you known I’m the most judgment-free human being on the Earth. It has many interpretations, but for me this evening it’s [saying] if we don’t stand up for what we believe in, if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones.”

Before she had recorded a note of her debut album, Lolene had already chosen its inspired title: The Electrick Hotel. “I call it The Electrick Hotel because when you put the album on, you’re my guest. I’m going to take care of you,” says the British singer, songwriter, and performer. “You’re invited to come and stay a while in my world, which I see as like a hotel where each song is a room that captures a different part of my personality and expresses different emotions. So if you’re feeling happy, you can go to the penthouse and dance to ‘Sexy People.’ If you’re heartbroken, you can visit the first-floor and have a cry to ‘Beautiful Disaster.’”
Lolene began writing songs and singing backing vocals for trip-hop artist Martina Topley-Bird (known for her work with Tricky) and local drum-and-bass pioneer Roni Size. After completing school, she moved to London and fronted an all-girl pop vocal group signed to a development deal at BMG Records. She wrote all the group’s material and realized she had a knack for writing melodies and lyrics.
It was during this time in London that Lolene acquired her nickname “Miss Foo Foo,” bestowed on her by a friend who watched Lolene drool over expensive items she couldn’t afford as the two window-shopped on London’s swanky Kings Road. “’Miss Foo Foo’ is the name of my company as well as my naughty alter ego,” Lolene says. “She’s the heightened, fabulous, eccentric part of my personality — the girl who wants it all right now. She lives in a world of heartbreak and handbags. She’s a chaser of dreams.” Miss Foo Foo is boujis (a British expression meaning to be fancy or posh) — the type who hangs out in London’s chic, ultra-private nightclubs.
Glam as it may have been, the London scene wasn’t enough to contain someone as driven as Lolene. Armed with nothing but a suitcase and a demo CD, she moved to Hollywood in search of her big break. Based on Lolene’s songwriting talent, multi-platinum producer Jonathan “J.R.” Rotem signed her to his publishing label Beluga Heights/Sony ATV. She went to work collaborating with such heavy-hitters as Andreas Carlsson (Backstreet Boys, ’N Sync, Celine Dion), Christopher Rojas (Pink, Backstreet Boys, Joss Stone), Makeba Riddick (Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Beyonce), Evan Bogart (The Writing Camp), Danja (Britney Spears, Nelly Furtado, Timbaland), Harvey Mason Jr. (Underdogs), and Christina Milian, for whom Lolene penned the single “Diamonds” featuring Kanye West.
Recently, I had the chance to ask Lolene about things such as her music, goals, and musical inspirations. You can read about it below.
When did you first realize you had an interest in music and what sparked that interest?
I went to my first dance class at age 2 and since then I have been dancing, singing and performing in some way or another. I specifically remember listening to Mariah Carey and Kylie Minogue in my bedroom and realizing that this is what I wanted to do.
How did you break into the music industry?
I broke in through the back window, turned the nob and ran up the stairs! But seriously, I got my break through song-writing.
How would you describe the sound of your music, and what makes you feel like your album is different from the other artists in your genre?
I would describe my music as awkward universal pop. I make music to uplift and inspire people in some way. So there is definitely positive elements to my music. It’s also very electrosexual! But I don’t feel I’m in a position to describe how my music differs. I leave that to the good ears of my listeners.
What are some of your plans for promoting your album – do you plan on doing some touring?
Absolutely, I love to perform live, so you will definitely be catching me at a venue near you. I plan on being everywhere, including under your bed.
Musically speaking, what are some of your short term and long term goals you have lined out for yourself? What are your hopes for the upcoming year?
Universal pop domination and to continue making great music for the most amazing fans in the world.
Lyrically speaking, where do your song inspirations come from? Is it easy for you to sit down and write lyrics, or is it a bit of a challenge sometimes?
Writing lyrics comes naturally to me. i started as a poet and this is a gift I’ve been blessed with. I am truly inspired by tragedy and triumph and everything in between, I could literally write a song about anything, and I am really thankful for this gift.
Who are some of your musical interests and influences?
I am hugely influenced by Madonna, Kate Bush and Rick James. They are true showmen and entertainers. I also love Joan Collins and Cher. I really like music from the 90′s.
Who are some artists you’d like to work with?
Without a doubt Kate Bush. I would also really like to collaborate with Blondie, Ace of Base, Empire of the Sun and Prince.
What is the experience like to be out somewhere and be recognized by a fan?
It’s all still very new to me and I have to admit the first time did trip me out for a good minute. This is because you are in your own private world of creation for so long, like the studio or rehearsal room and so you forget there is a world out there sometimes. It can catch you off guard for sure. But I appreciate it and understand this is something I signed up for.
Besides music, what are some of your other interests and hobbies?
Food, I love to cook and eat. I am a total spa enthusiast also. And of course, cocktail mixologist!
Chastity Bono, daughter of legendary duo Sonny (Bono) and Cher, is currently undergoing a sex change. Once complete, Chastity will be known as Chaz Bono. This is terrible news to the sports bra industry.
Chastity brought the spotlight to the gay/lesbian scene in Hollywood nearly two decades ago when she officially came out of the closet. According to her rep, Howard Bragman, she/he has considered this surgery for some time.

“He is proud of his decision and grateful for the support and respect that has already been shown by his loved ones. It is Chaz’s hope that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue, just as his ‘coming out’ did nearly 20 years ago. We ask that the media respect Chaz’s privacy during this long process as he will not be doing any interviews at this time.”
Um, am I the only one that was under the impression that Chaz already had this surgery? I mean she/he could give Cynthia Nixon’s fiancé, Rojo Caliente, baseball pointers.
In all seriousness, we wish Chaz well with his new venture. I am sure all of us ladies have thought about the potential of not having to wait in line for the toilet at a concert, or being able to watch hockey with one hand in a bag of chips and the other shoved down your pants.
The only issue with this transformation is finding the ‘man-bits’ donor. I can think of a few possible candidates (I’m talking to you Clay Aiken…you know you don’t need yours). Who’s on your list?
