January Jones is a Red Head Now – PHOTOS

January Jones must have gotten wind of my fondness for gingers. Conan, Prince Harry, Sheamus, Christina Hendricks, Amy Adams, Emma Stone (even though she is a natural blonde), Isla Fisher, Rupert Grint and David Wenham are all glorious red heads I hit the “like” button on.

Christina Hendricks: More Than Just Boobs – PHOTOS

“I got practically no responsibilities, my job’s a breeze, and I got a killer rack! Good morning!”

That old adage is hand painted on 6 foot portrait of myself hanging in the lobby of my office building. (Ok, it’s more like… on a Post-It note that is stuck to a picture of me drunk on St. Patrick’s Day 3 years ago that sits on my office desk.) Regardless, that quote comes to mind whenever I think of Christina Hendricks. She is launching herself into stardom and boobs only get you so far in Hollywood, so she has to have the goods.

Currently she is bedding Doogie Hower in the New York Philharmonic’s production of Stephen Sondheim’s ‘Company,’ guest starring on ‘Body of Proof,’ working the ‘Mad Men’ set and filming ‘I Don’t Know How She Does It.’ Her resume includes 31 titles and at least 15 magazine covers (and counting) since her rise in popularity. Christina may be known for her natural busty figure, but she will be remembered for her talent.

Here are some fun facts:
*She is actually blonde, but has dyed her hair red since she was 10.
*Hendricks started as a teen model.
*Her measurements are rumored to be 39D-30-39.
*Voted Best Looking American Woman by Esquire magazine in 2010.
*Has been nominated for SyFy Awards (won), Screen Actors Guild Awards (won), Emmy Award.
*UK Equalities Minister Lynne Featherstone dubbed her positive influence for women and stated: “Christina Hendricks is absolutely fabulous… We need more of these role models. There is such a sensation when there is a curvy role model. It shouldn’t be so unusual.”

As a fellow curvy dame, I appreciate her attitude and talent. When I was in high school the Itty Bitty Titty Committee would tease me by asking, “When God was handing out brains were you off asking for a double helping of boobs?” Those C.U.Next Tuesdays have since developed a coke habit (not the carbonated beverage), would suck the alcohol out of a stick of deodorant and turned into such a disaster that Red Cross wouldn’t give her coffee.

Enjoy some pics of Christina’s lusciousness with Neil Patrick Harris and her guest appearance on ABC. You can see her spot on ‘Body of Proof’ April 19th at 10 pm ET.

“Mad Men” Rolling Stone Magazine Cover

“Mad Men” hottie Jon Hamm graces the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, along with his co-stars January Jones, Elizabeth Moss, and the voluptuous Christina Hendricks.

Five years ago, no one had even heard of these four actors and now, an hour doesn’t go by when someone isn’t trying to find out Hendricks’s cup size or download a video of Jon Hamm shakin’ his money maker with Betty White (no worries, we have that video for you HERE).

I have to admit, my dear friend Lou has been trying to get me on board with “Mad Men” for sometime and I have put it off. However, I started watching this season preparing myself to fall in love with Don Draper. Instead, I am totally TEAM JOAN!!! I love her! I want her! I want to be her!

You can pick up the current issue of Rolling Stone on newsstands tomorrow.

Emmy Awards Fashion Best Dressed

I have to say that the Red Carpet for the 2010 Emmy Awards was a bit of a snooze. Black, white and navy blue dominated along with simplicity. While you can never go wrong with the basics and classics, it can easily make for a sea of ho-hum style. Everyone looked lovely, I just didn’t find a dress I would shell out over $5,000 for. That was the most affordable dress on the Emmy red carpet. $200K was the most expensive gown. Click HERE to see the 2010 Emmy Awards Worst Dressed.

My top three have to be Christina Hendricks, Claire Danes and Kim Kardashian (yes, too cringe to admit it). Hendricks wore a Resort 2011 purple Zac Posen creation. Claire Danes was stunning for her first Emmy win in a Armani Prive gown dripping with Swarovski crystals. Kim went with a Greek inspired metallic beaded neckline and white silk Marchesa gown that reminds me why I adore anything Marchesa sends down the carpet. Kelly Osbourne also looked ravishing in a Tony Ward dress that hugged her toned bod and took the little black dress to a uber-glam level.

January Jones gets my nod for most fashion forward as she wore a loud but unique blue dress. However, this is also a miss as the seashell boob effect is not hot. Also, her hair looks like the result of a one night stand in a married man’s bed. It was actually a Versace creation. Lea Michele also gets a nod in her Oscar de la Renta midnight blue gown. It was a classic and safe choice that embraced the deep hued blue trend. Perhaps a more popping color would have done her a favor. The dress’ details were lost in the super dark color so I am guessing it was stunning in person.

Finally, Betty White wore a pastel dress that makes you want to pinch her cheeks and ask her to help you nab one of the groomsmen at your friend’s wedding.

Christina Hendricks Thanks Cappuccinos for Her Curves

Mad Men” star Christina Hendricks is making headlines lately after in a recent interview she reveals just how much she loves her full figure and has always been proud of her curves. However, she still has a hard time shutting out all the negative comments. In February, Christina was hurt by the negative reactions to her voluptuous figure, insisting the comments left a “bad taste in her mouth” after she showed off her curves in a lavish ball gown at the Golden Globes ceremony. A New York Times style critic was forced to apologize after writing, “big girls shouldn’t wear big dresses.”

Per Health:

On people Googling her cup size:
“It’s weird, but it doesn’t surprise me. I made the grave mistake after one awards show of reading comments online about what I wore, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, people are so mean!’ I still remember all those negative comments, despite all the wonderful positivity. That’s why we’re all in therapy! [We remember] the 10 bad things that happen to us instead of the 100 nice ones.”

And now Christina and her cleavage are front and center on the cover of ‘Health‘ magazine where she also talks about how she loves being “bigger,” at least by Hollywood standards, adores her body, and feels gorgeous with an extra 15 pounds.

Q: What is your best advice for reaching total body confidence? Do you have it?
A: I guess my mom raised me right. She was very celebratory of her body. I never heard her once say, “I feel fat.” Back when I was modeling, the first time I went to Italy I was having cappuccinos every day, and I gained 15 pounds. And I felt gorgeous! I would take my clothes off in front of the mirror and be like, Oh, I look like a woman. And I felt beautiful, and I never tried to lose it, ’cause I loved it. [Laughs.]

In the interview where she talks at lengths about her body, Christina also went on to talk about maintaining a positive body image while also revealing details about how she manages to stay fit and even her much googled breast size. What is her cup size, by the way? She’s too classy to reveal that but since everyone else in the world is googling it, let the guessing begin!

CNN Sees the Style Light

Yesterday I was contacted by the good people of CNN. I was lucky enough to discuss the touchy topic of celebrity body image. The subject became reheated after the New York Times posted two stories that caused a backlash.

christina-hendrickson-ny-times-photo-controversy-1

Christina Hendricks was under fire for an ill fitting gown. The media outlet’s fashion critic, Cathy Horyn, dubbed her a “big girl” and it became a storm of disagreement. It should also be mentioned that the article was accompanied by an obviously digitally altered photo that appeared to stretch her width. Since then, the image was replaced and the error chalked up to a “routine processing” error. Regardless, he issue was no longer the dress, but a question of Christina’s body image.

Breeanna Hare of CNN tackled the controversy by talking to people on both sides of the issue. Click HERE to read ‘Mad Men’ actress ‘big’? Them’s fightin’ words on the Web featuring comments from yours truly!
