Carrie Underwood’s Unfriendly Run-In With Leighton Meester

What has happened to the down home country girl we all knew and fell in love with on American Idol? Since those days, all we’re hearing are horror stories about Carrie Underwood – the latest involving ‘Gossip Girl’ Leighton Meester at last months ‘CMA Awards.’ Apparently, Meester was there to promote her supporting role in ‘Country Strong‘ and was a little nervous before going on stage. And this is where Underwood’s cattiness comes in.

Per Us:

At the November 10 CMA Awards, a super-anxious Leighton Meester, 24, was prepping backstage to present an award when the 27-year-old American Idol champ, who was co-hosting the show with Brad Paisley, approached her and said, “Get out there and don’t f–k it up,” reveals a source. “It made Leighton more nervous.” The source added, “Later, someone said to Carrie, ‘That was mean,’ and Carrie said, ‘She’ll get over it. Someone said that to me once and I got over it.’”

I don’t know or care if this is true, but it made me laugh either way! I can totally picture this scenario playing out like the CMA edition of ‘Mean Girls.’ I have read that the more popular she gets, the worse her attitude is. So I wouldn’t put it past Underwood to be a bit bitchy. Can someone let some air out of her head?

‘The Vampire Diaries’ Wants Taylor Swift

vampire-diaries

Taylor Swift may already have some ties with another vampire franchise – the “Twilight Saga” through current hush-hush boyfriend Taylor Lautner – But the seasons new hit TV show “The Vampire Diaries” has their eyes set on the country startlet. Rumor has it that writer Kevin Williamson approached Swift about making an appearance, as a vampire nonetheless, on his CW series.

Per Reel Empire:

“I tried to get her on the show once, but she was touring. I’m desperate to have [Swift] come play a vampire,” Williamson says. “Wouldn’t she make an amazing Kirsten Dunst circa Interview With the Vampire type? Oh my god, I cannot tell you how hard I’m trying to get her—I would kill to have her on the show!”

Williamson confessed he is worried the star may be “too big for Vampire Diaries now” but is still hoping to work something out so she can cameo on the show. Taylor has been in the spotlight a lot recently between her run-in with Kanye West, triumphing at this weeks CMA awards, and has recently been the guest host on “Saturday Night Live”. Maybe Williamson will be surprised and get Taylor Swift to do a guest appearance on “The Vampire Diaries”. I guess we’ll soon find out how persuasive he can be. I for one think she’d be an awesome addition to the cast, even though Mr. Jacob Black would not be amused!

Did you dust off your bolo ties and lap steel guitars last night and watch the 2009 CMA’s? Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley hosted the awards show for all things country music related. Of course the night couldn’t go by without a few digs at Kanye West. Yup, everyone is still bitter and not yet over it. Underwood and Paisley took the song “Mama’s Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys” and changed the lyrics. Instead they used the opportunity to further shame West.

Mamas don’t let your babies grow up to be Kanye.’ ‘Let them pick guitars and drive them old trucks, ’cause cowboys have manners, they don’t interrupt.’

After Taylor Swift hosted Saturday Night Live where she again took a dig at the “Love Lockdown” rapper, she didn’t hesitate to add another swipe as she won for best female vocalist.

‘I want to thank every single person in this room tonight for not running up on this stage during this speech – thank you.’

Later, as Carrie and Brad continued hosting duties, she mentioned to her co-host that his vid for “Welcome to the Future” was in fact the ‘best video of all time,’ 88-year-old country veteran Little Jimmy Dickens wobbled up on stage and interrupted.

“Excuse me! Excuse me sir – I’ll let you finish later. Now Brad Paisley, I know you had a nice video and all that, but Taylor Swift made the best video of all time!”
