David Letterman Assassination Threat

You know your jokes are bad when a wannabe jihadist is calling for you to be beheaded. David Letterman is receiving death threats after making a joke that caused an offended viewer to ask fellow Muslims to kill the late night talk show host.

Dave joked about the death of IIyas Kashmiri who was Osama bin Laden’s lieutenant. Apparently some late night lovin’ jihad wasn’t amused according to EW. A site frequented by Al-Qaeda played host to Umar al-Basrawi‘s request for Letterman’s tongue…

Eva Longoria Flashes David Letterman – VIDEO

Eva Longoria is pimping her new cookbook, “Eva’s Kitchen.” She hit up ‘The Late Show’ wearing part of a tux and her best My Little Pony weave.

During the show Longoria had a wardrobe malfunction and flashed the crowd bits of her boob. As she sat flashing parts of the audience, a button came undone and Eva flashed David Letterman. She was a good sport and laughed about the accident and gushed on about the upcoming seasons of ‘Desperate Housewives.’ Eva confirmed negotiations are moving forward on an 8th and 9th season of the drama.

Eva also appeared on ‘Piers Morgan Tonight’ and spoke with the Brit about her public divorce from Tony Parker.

What was it like for you when it all exploded, when it all came out, when … the fairytale was suddenly hit by this hammer blow?

“It was heartbreaking. It’s the first time I’m talking about it, so I’m sorry,” said Longoria, with visible emotion. “It was disappointing because I had such an identity in being Mrs. Parker and being a wife. And, so, when that’s taken away from you, you go, ‘Who am I?’ It was hard.”

Eva and Tony Parker split after being married for three years. Tony “allegedly” cheated on her with his best friend’s wife. This was the first time she has publicly spoke about the divorce, but kept it nice and didn’t say a negative word about Parker diddling his friend’s piece. She merely mentioned their marriage ended because “they both wanted different things.” (Like a husband who keeps his peen to himself.)

John Goodman Tells Letterman His Weight Loss Secrets – VIDEO

John Goodman showed up to the red carpet AFI Tribute to Mike Nichols looking like Dan Connor on Trimspa. It suits him.

Goodman followed his weight loss debut, he made a stop on David Letterman to talk about his new HBO show, “Treme.” Of course Letterman asked about the new look by asking how much he weighed.

“Plenty… pushing 400.. Somewhere up around there. I’d get off of ‘Roseanne’ every spring. I’d lose 60 lbs every spring. Then I got too fond of the barley corn… I’d gain it back and then some, every year. [I'm] getting a lot of exercise, I feel great.. It’s going to be an ongoing process for the rest of my life.”

Hollywood Dame Exclusive Interview – Runner Runner

Five distinct personalities joining forces to make one mighty sound — that’s “Runner Runner.” The SoCal band’s self-titled debut album — released through a new partnership with Capitol Records, C.E. Music (a new label formed by David Letterman’s Worldwide Pants Inc.) and Jack Ponti’s MRV label — combines skillful songwriting and musicianship, punk-infused intensity and humungous pop hooks. The entrance that Runner Runner – front man Ryan Ogren, guitarists Nick Bailey and Peter Munters, bassist Jon Berry and drummer James Ulrich – is making on an unsuspecting music scene is in keeping with its name that has its origins in Ogren and Berry’s love of poker: “runner runner” is a poker term that, loosely defined, means “coming out of nowhere and pulling off a winning hand at the last possible moment.”

Veterans to the music industry, bassist Berry was a founding member of the SoCal pop-punk band, Rufio, Ogren was the vocalist/guitarist for New Jersey’s Don’t Look Down, and Munters, Bailey & Ulrich were members of OC’s Over It. They all came together in 2008 to create what is now Runner Runner. The five members are a combination of skillful songwriting and musicianship, punk-infused intensity and songs with humongous hooks with tremendous potential. Having admired each other’s talents and enjoyed each other’s company on numerous occasions as their bands crisscrossed the country on various van tours, the five musicians snapped together like Lego pieces when serendipity presented them with the opportunity to form a band together.

Runner Runner has over eight-million plays on their MySpace, were named a 2009 Band to Watch by Alternative Press, and has performed more than 175 shows on bills with such prominent left-offcenter acts as Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, Gym Class Heroes, Angels & Airwaves, The Higher, The Audition and The White Tie Affair. Theyre also veterans of the festival circuit, appearing in 2009 on the Vans Warped Tour, Bamboozle and Tokyos Punkspring Festival, as well as the Night of Lights Festival and the L.A. Ink Fest during the previous year. The band is currently recording their self-titled debut album in Los Angeles with producer Dave Darling (Stray Cats, Brian Setzer, Soulive), and plan to tour extensively after their album drops later this summer. Their first single, “So Obvious,” will be released to radio on June 15. (Check out “So Obvious” here ) Runner Runner kicked off the first leg of an extensive tour beginning in mid-May, and are currently on tour with Amber Pacific before joining up with Cartel.

I had the chance to speak with Jon about the bands goals, influences, and hobbies. You can read that below.

When did you first realize you had an interest in music and what sparked that interest?

Well for me, my family tells me about that first interest. It was on a family vacation in San Diego when I was 7, watching the bands play on the campground. They say I was intent on watching them. I’ve always been into music. I can remember listening to Michael Jackson, singing to his songs on the radio. I guess in high school is when it really picked up for me, when I started playing music. Its always been a huge passion of mine.

How did you break into the music industry?

Well, we all come from different bands. We used to tour together in Japan and through the states. A few years ago I moved in with Ryan and we started writing and doing songs together.

How would you describe the sound of your music, and what makes you feel like your music is different from other artists in your genre?

I think when you hear it, you’ll know its Runner Runner. The way it sounds it stands out more because our songs are personal. They are lyrically engaging and instrumentally, too. We just like to have fun with our music, but at the same time we draw from personal experiences.

What are some of your plans for promoting your music?

We are all huge internet nerds, so getting our music out that way is one. Another is touring and playing plenty of shows.

Musically speaking,w hat are some of your short term and long term goals?

Short term, to play David Letterman. Long term, just always making and writing music, and promoting it. I also want to have a house in Hawaii. It’d be awesome to make a record there – Go surfing in the morning and writing music in the evening.

Who are some of your musical influences?

Lady Gaga and Tom Petty.

Who are some artist you’d like to work with?

Everybody. It’d be cool to work with some songwriters. Working with Ryan Tedder would be sick. And Coldplay would be sick, too.

How did you come up with the name “Runner Runner?”

‘Runner Runner’ was the surviving name on a dry erase board in the house. We wanted a big name, and we came up with some fun names, like ‘The Boys Team.’ But ‘Runner Runner’ just always stood out.

Where do you get your song inspirations from, lyrically speaking?

The only place you can get them from, through life and personal experiences. We draw from everything around us.

Besides music, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

Nick and I love surfing. We’ve surfed in Japan, Hawaii, California, the East Coast. Just love the beach life, the atmosphere. Other than that, I’d have to say watching movies and coming up with our own comedy skits.

Tell Ryan, Peter, Nick, Jon & James what you think about their music and to find out more about them, head to their MySpace, Facebook, or Twitter pages.

Howard Stern Bashes Jay Leno – Video

Howard Stern has no love for Jay Leno, and he’s surely not afraid to say it! CBS’ “The Early Show” gave the sometimes shocking radio host time Tuesday morning to slam the “Tonight Show” host when Harry Smith asked Stern about the Leno move on NBC – sending Stern launching into a mighty attack on Leno.

Per NY Daily News:

“Just the mere mention of Jay Leno’s name makes me to want to vomit,” Stern told “Early Show” anchor Harry Smith — who, not surprisingly, barely got a word in. “I don’t like this guy,” Stern said. “I don’t disguise it.”

The shock jock spoke to CBS live from his Sirius XM Radio studio for close to five minutes, once again accused Leno of stealing material from himself, David Letterman and even people in England. Stern said he felt that after Leno’s 10pm time slot failed, the respectable thing would have been for him to move to a new network and face Conan O’Brien and Letterman’s shows head-on.

“Jay Leno seems to be the kind of showbiz animal that won’t let go,” Stern said. “Jay is a lap dog.”

Ouch. I wouldn’t expect to see Stern on Leno’s lineup anytime soon.

Keifer Sutherland Wearing a Dress on David Letterman – Video

Keifer Sutherland showed up to David Letterman’s show in a dress. The “24” star lost a bet after “being so sure” the Patriots were going to win last weekend. Obviously they lost and Keifer had to shop for a dress and then wear it proudly on the Late Show.

Meh, dudes in dresses are a common occurrence around my digs. What? Don’t tell me you have never watched “The Birdcage” with a queen and had a sing-a-long at the end when they all escape the club singing “We are Family.”

David Letterman Apologizes to His Wife Regina Lasko -Photos and VIDEO

[David Letterman Apology to Wife, Regina Lasko, Video]

Last week, talk show host David Letterman used his show to come clean about his reported affairs with female staffers. Naturally, he did this only after he received threats from Robert “Joe” Halderman, a former Late Show producer, who tried to extort $2 million from the host.

Despite efforts to remain serious, Letterman’s audience continued to laugh as he revealed the exortion plot against him.

And although the American public seems to have forgiven Dave’s infidelity, his wife, Regina Lasko, does not seem to agree.

While taping two shows on Monday, PopEater reports that Letterman issued the following on-air apology to his wife:

Via Radar:

“…the other thing is my wife, Regina. She has been horribly hurt by my behavior, and when something happens like that, if you hurt a person and it’s your responsibility, you try to fix it. And at that point, there’s only two things that can happen: either you’re going to make some progress and get it fixed, or you’re going to fall short and perhaps not get it fixed, so let me tell you folks, I got my work cut out for me.”

Seriously Dave? You think the best way to apologize to your wife for playing hide-the-salami with your 20-something staff members is to remind everyone again of what you did?

It’s getting as ridiculous as Spenser and Heidi demanding privacy.

David Letterman Extortion Story – Video

A CBS producer was arrested yesterday after trying to extort $2 million dollars from David Letterman. Robert Halderman, a 51 year old Emmy Award winning producer who was behind “48 Hours,” threatened to go public with torrid tales of Letterman’s work related sexual conquests. The “Late Show” host pursued police involvement and handed over a fake check.

After the incident PopEater reported that David decided to go public before the media got a hold of it and ripped him apart. Smart. Very smart. During last night’s show he explained the entire situation that started about 3 weeks ago and admitted to having sex with some of his colleges.

robert-joe-halderman-and-stephenie-birkitt-1

“In the back seat of my car, there’s a package that I don’t recognize. What this is, is a guy is going to write a screenplay about me and he’s going to take all the terrible stuff that he knows about my life and he’s going to put it into a movie unless I give him some money,” Letterman explained to the audience.

He continued on explaining that Halderman was arrested.

“This morning, I did something I’ve never done in my life,” Letterman told viewers. “I had to go downtown and testify before a grand jury. This whole thing has been quite scary,” he said. “I had to tell them how I was disturbed by this. I was scared for my family. I felt menaced by this man.” Then, Letterman added, “I had to tell them all the creepy things I had done.” The audience roared with laughter. “Now why is that funny?” Letterman asked.

“Now of course we get to what was it was – we get to all the creepy stuff,” Letterman said, taking a more serious tone. “I have had sex with women who work for me on this show.” Letterman said the grand jury asked if the accusations were true.”Yes, I have,” was his answer.

“Would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Perhaps it would – especially for the women,” he joked. “But that’s a decision for them, if they want to go public and talk. It’s been a very bizarre experience,” Letterman added. “I feel like I need to protect my family. I need to protect myself and I hope to protect my job.”

What’s the big deal? So he dipped his pen in the office ink. Who hasn’t. I bet someone is “dipping” right now on the copy machine on the second floor somewhere out there. It’s no like he kicked a kitten, stole Taylor Swift’s moment of glory or slapped a nun.

UPDATE – Name dropping has begun. Stephanie Birkitt has been spilling the beans. She was a former employee of the Late Show and Joe Halderman’s latest girlfriend. Photos of Stephanie Birkitt are below.

Madonna Says She’s Not Marrying Baby Jesus on Letterman – Video

So there was a brief rumor that Madonna was going to make an honest man out of Jesus. Then it was trumped Justin Timberlake cheating on Jessica Biel with Rihanna (click here to read about that) and Robert Pattinson Replacing Johnny Depp in Next ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film (click here to read about that).

Madonna put rumors of another marriage in the works to rest on David Letterman. PopEater reports on her 8th appearance on “The Late Show,” she stated she “rather get hit by a train” than remarry.

David then took her and had pizza due to the fact she has never had New York by the slice pizza. Mid way through the slice she put some sunglasses on when her eyes started to turn black after feeding on something other than macrobioticly fed virgin souls.
