Super Bowl 2011 ADS – VIDEOS

The Steelers took on the Packers in Super Bowl XLV in a game that started with Green Bay domination. The ads for the football culmination are always a draw with their huge price tags for air time usually deliver the the best commercials of the year. For those of us who couldn’t care less about the game and simply arrived for the half time show and ads here is a rundown of what was offered.

Cameron Diaz was feeding Alex Rodriguez while John Travolta looked grumpy in the corner. Ron Howard looked like he was having a good time. (Gingers know how to party.) George Bush even took a break from his Where’s Waldo collection to sit with a panel from his political days.

During the half time show we were treated to The Black Eyed Peas headlining the show. Slash joined Fergie with a rendition of ‘Sweet Child of Mine’ while the sound struggled with mic problems and balance of vocals to background music. Usher made a one song cameo that brought much needed movement to the show. Dancers around the stage were more interesting to watch with their lighted suits forming arrows, hearts and lighted up routines that brought interest to the B.E.P’s barely dancing presence. Vocals were pretty strong and live (when the sound was working).

Elton John: Lady Gaga Will Obliterate ‘I Will Survive’ Anthem

In the issue of Rolling Stone hitting stands on Friday, Elton John makes several grand statements about his inner circle. Lady Gaga shared her new album with the new father and John thinks she has history making music on her hands. John is adamant her single will topple one of the most iconic songs belted out by Gloria Gaynor.

“I’ve heard her new album,” John says. “It’s amazing. The first single, ‘Born This Way,’ is the anthem that’s going to obliterate ‘I Will Survive.’ I can’t think of how huge it’s going to be.”

He also calls out his friend Billy Joel for his problems with alcohol and drugs.

“He’s going to hate me for this, but every time he goes to rehab they’ve been light,” John says. “When I went to rehab, I had to clean the floors. He goes to rehab where they have TVs. I love you, Billy, and this is tough love. Billy, you have your demons and you’re not going to get rid of them at rehab light. You’ve got to be serious. People adore you, they love you and respect you. You should be able to do something better than what you’re doing now.”

Joel has received treatment for his alcohol and substance abuse problems several times. In 2002 he checked into a treatment center in Connecticut. In March of 2005 he spent 30 days in the Betty Ford Clinic.

In the issue Elton also mentions his unlikely, but lasting friendship with Eminem. The two still speak on the phone and has remained an unmovable force in Em’s recovery.

“We call each other c*nts,” John says. “He’s worked really hard at sobriety and it’s changed him so much. He’s also got a great sense of humor. When David and I had our civil partnership, he sent us a present. In a case, on velvet cushions, were to diamond cock rings. So there’s a homophobe for you [laughs].”

Another friend made the cut for Elton’s praise in the interview.

More 2011 Grammy Performers Announced

I cannot wait for this years Grammy Awards. The red carpet, the performances, and the winners!!! Bring it on baby. We already told you that Lady Gaga will be gracing the stage at this years award show – We always know that Gaga will bring it on stage and this performance should be even bigger because it’s also the day she releases her first single from her new album. CBS has officially announced some other performers for the February 13th show. Any guesses on who else is set to perform?

Per LA Times:

Announced Thursday morning, the musicians range from the sturdy country sounds of Miranda Lambert to the grand rock ‘n’ roll of the Quebecois band Arcade Fire (both of whom will make their Grammy performance debuts), from the king of the two-word profanity, Cee Lo Green, to the reigning Queen of Pomp and Pop, Lady Gaga. Rounding out the list of heavy-hitters will be Detroit rapper Eminem, whose 10 nominations lead the pack, and Katy Perry, who will no doubt be competing with Gaga in the unofficial “most buzzworthy costume” category.

It’s not surprise that Eminem is performing. He leads the pack of nominations this year with 10 nods. I’m also hoping that Bruno Mars, who has 7 nominations, will also perform. It’s rumored that Britney Spears will also be performing, but CBS has yet to officially confirm it.

Who do you think will have the best performance at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards?

Eminem Lands New Movie Role

It’s been about 8 years now since Eminem impressed people with his role in ‘8 Mile.’ Now he’s signed up to do another movie – ‘Southpaw.’

Per MTV:

“I took meetings with Marshall’s producing partners over the past seven years, looking for something to do together,” said screenwriter Kurt Sutter. “I know he’s very selective and doesn’t do a lot. But he shared so much of his personal struggle in this raw and very honest album, one that I connected with on a lot of levels. He is very interested in the boxing genre, and it seemed like an apt metaphor, because his own life has been a brawl.”

‘Southpaw’ will be a boxing flick meant to mirror his real life struggles. He will play a fast-rising, left-handed welterweight whose career suffers when tragedy strikes. The film will reportedly follow his fight to reclaim glory and win back his young daughter. No release date has been scheduled yet.

Sounds interesting to me. Thoughts?

T.I.’s ‘Castle Walls’ Featuring Christina Aguilera – Listen To It HERE

A new T.I. song called ‘Castle Walls‘ has popped up online. It features Christina Aguilera and will be on T.I.’s ‘No Mercy‘ album, which drops next Tuesday.

Per EW:

Though he is currently living behind walls of a different kind, T.I.’s “Castle Walls” hit the internet today, featuring a melancholy chorus courtesy of one Christina Burlesque Aguilera that goes, in part: “Everyone thinks that I have it all / but it’s so empty living behind / these castle walls (these castle walls) / If I should tumble if I should fall would anyone hear me / screaming behind these castle walls?”

The tune was produced by Alex Da Kid, responsible for Eminem’s hit with RihannaLove the Way You Lie,’ so we can already tell ‘Castle Walls’ will be a hit. Thoughts?

Eminem Likes To Write Music WHERE?!

Eminem is spilling a lot in the new ‘Rolling Stone‘ Magazine issue where he graces the cover. He talks about losing a ton of weight for a movie, Elton John helping him with his sobriety, and his favorite place to write music.

Per E! Online:

“I think we do most of our best thinking on the sh-tter. What else do you have to do in there besides think?”

Hmm. Good point. Eminem also reveals he was once so obsessed with his weight that his ideal body was that of Christian Bale in “The Machinist,” a role for which the actor lost a lot of weight, becoming virtually a shadow of his former self. He also dishes some details about his unofficial “sponsor” Sir Elton John and how he was the first person he called when he realized the drugs were killing him and he needed to break the addiction circle.

“He usually calls me once a week to check on me, just to make sure I’m on the up-and-up. He was actually one of the first people I called when I wanted to get clean.”

Pick up the new Rolling Stone to read more. I’m sure it’ll be a great issue!

Now another track has leaked. Makes you wonder if her record label will end up pushing the new CD out earlier… The song is called ‘Cheers‘. If you’re wondering who that familiar voice is in the background is – well, it’s Avril Lavigne.

Cut Cheers by dl-official

Per Just Jared:

Rihanna’s ‘Cheers’ Lyrics:

[Chorus]
Cheers to the freaking weekend
I drink to that, yeah yeah
Oh let the Jameson sink in
I drink to that, yeah yeah
Don’t let the bastards get you down
Turn it around with another round
There’s a party at the bar everybody put your glasses up and
I drink to that, I drink to that, I drink to that

Life’s too short to be sitting around miserable
People gonna talk whether you doing bad or good, yeah
Got a drink on my mind and my mind on my money, yeah
Looking so bomb, gonna find me a honey
Got my Ray-Bans on and I’m feeling hella cool tonight, yeah
Everybody’s vibing so don’t nobody start a fight, yeah-ah-ah-ah

(Chorus)

‘Bout to hop on the bar, put it all on my card tonight, yeah
Might be mad in the morning but you know we goin hard tonight
It’s getting Coyote Ugly up in here, no tyra
It’s only up from here, no downward spiral
Got my Ray-Bans on and I’m feeling hella cool tonight, yeah
Everybody’s vibing so don’t nobody start a fight, yeah

(Chorus x2)

Lady Gaga’s Meat Dress To Become Beef Jerky

Lady Gaga shocked onlookers when she appeared at an awards show wearing a dress and accessories made out of raw cuts of meat combined to form a dress, complete with meat hat and meat purse. Now, the much talked about meat dress worn by Lady Gaga is slated to be turned into Beef Jerky and will live on instead of rotting away, according to its maker Franc Fernandez.

Seriously.

Per PopEater:

“The dress will go through a process where it becomes a sort of ‘jerky,’ and it will be archived,” Fernandez revealed to our partners at E!. “The meat dries out, rather than rotting,” he explained. “But it shouldn’t be worn again.”

The meat dress caused outrage when Gaga wore it to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and Eminem reportedly refused to sit next to her, not being partial to the smell of rotten beef. Fernandez created Gaga’s meat dress from 50 pounds of steak, which he stitched together in a fridge before transporting it to the VMAs in a cooler.

Kanye West: “Power” VIDEO See it Here

Here it is kittens: Kanye West’s new video entitled “POWER.”

This religious themed video is the second major rap video to drop this week along with Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna (see that video HERE).

Marco Brambilla, the director of the video, explains his motivation to The Hollywood Gossip:

“I’ve always wanted to do something that would visualize power, to do a portrait of what power would look like in a sort of timeless way and being able to have him framed in that portrait, essentially doing a video portrait of Kanye as a symbol of power, was very consistent with my art practice and what I explore in my artwork.”

Sorry Marco, Imma let you finish, but I need to say that I thought Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.
