You all know there are three things in life that make me tingly happy and shine with the light of a thousand fairies. Those gifts from Baby Jesus are Jake Gyllenhaal, Blueberry vodka (aka breakfast in a bottle) and Harry Potter. So when I hear the set for the final Harry Potter film burned to the ground I clutched my pearls and gasped with horror.
Firefighters (ok, four things in life that make tingly happy) fought with a fire that destroyed the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” Hogwarts set after some pyrotechnics caught the set on fire. Luckily no one was injured.
Six fire engines were spotted racing to the Leavesden Film Studios on Friday. The fire was caused from some explosives stunts gone wrong. *SPOILER ALERT* At the end of the final Potter film, there is a huge battle that nearly destroys Hogwarts as Voldemort and his Death Eaters attack the school. The children of the school rise together to fight back in a war that blows up walls and engulfs the Room of Requirement in flames as battles ensue all around the castle.
“We were shooting the scenes where Hogwarts gets blown up during the battle. But fire managed to catch hold of the set and it went up in flames. It was completely out of control at one point.”
“A fire service spokesman said: “There was a big battle scene involving a lot of pyrotechnics and explosions. There was a mocked-up castle made of timber, steel and plastic and somehow it caught alight.’
Warner Brothers confirmed the fire and insist that production is still going, but didn’t completely rule out another setback in the date for the final Harry Potter film. A rep downplayed the fire despite it taking nearly an hour to extinguish, six fire engines to control, a confirmed $135,000 damage bill and insiders stating it was “out of control.”

“It was a big special effects scene. Unfortunately, there was a small fire as a result of that. As a precaution, as we had already mobilized our own in-house fire team who had it under control, the fire brigade was called and it was put out in under an hour. The scene was where the set was being destroyed and then it was to be rebuilt for a new scene, as part of a battle for Deathly Hallows part two.”
I am no genius…but why rebuild a set you could do the before and after scenes in and then destroy versus building it, filming it, destroy it, rebuild it again? So far the release dates of both parts of the film are still November 19, 2010 and July 15, 2011.

It appears that after months of playing coy, Bonnie Wright and Jamie Campbell Bower are dating. According to OK! they have been dating for months. Bonnie, who plays Harry Potter’s love interest Ginny Weasly, confirmed that she and Bower are a couple. It appears that Bower may have dumped his old girlfriend he was toting to events in order to woo Bonnie. (Click HERE for those photos and article.)
“Yes, we’re dating. We’ve been seeing each other for a few months, it’s good. We’re going to the BAFTAs together on Sunday.”
They have been spotted together several times but denied any romantic involvement. Bower is now famed for his involvement in the Twilight series playing Volturi member, Caius. Bonnie and Jamie met on the Harry Potter set while filming the last of the Potter films, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” He has undertaken the role of Dumbledore’s best friend turned second most evil wizard, Grindelwald.

Now that “New Moon” is breaking box office records, “Twilight” fans are looking beyond “Eclipse” and more-so to “Breaking Dawn.” Though there has been no official confirmation of “Breaking Dawn,” the fact that it appeared as a tab on the official “Twilight Saga” movie website back in July has always indicated to us that the movie would indeed be made. To us, the only questions have been when and where. But the major questions surrounding “Breaking Dawn” seem to be over which director will helm the final “Twilight Saga” film and will it be made into one or two movies? How about bringing back a previous “New Moon” director for “Breaking Dawn?” That’s what Kristen Stewart was thinking when she suggested Chris Weitz return for the final installment.
Per MTV:
“I think Chris Weitz should do it,” she said. “I had such a good experience with him on ‘New Moon.’ He was so considerate there and passionate and compassionate. One of the nicest guys I’ve ever met in my life.”
Shooting has already wrapped on “Eclipse,” the third movie in the vampire saga, and now speculation is increasing over how Summit Entertainment plan to approach Stephanie Meyer’s final “Twilight” novel. Sources are saying that Summit plans to split the final book into two separate movies, to be shot back to back, and would likely continued to be scripted by Melissa Rosenberg – but Meyer must first approve the two-movie decision.
Per MTV:
“They might pull the ‘Harry Potter,’” Jeff Bock said, referring to the two-part split of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the final book in that series. “And don’t be surprised if they do. [Summit] would be hard-pressed not to put ['Breaking Dawn'] out next December, because there’s just too much money to be made right now. Then it gets really interesting, do they do spin-offs. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of rights Summit has, because I am sure they’re chomping at the bit to extend this franchise as far as they can.”
“Variety” magazine also speculates the franchise’s stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner could benefit from a bigger paycheck from the films if “Breaking Dawn” is officially given the green light, receiving payment in the 8-figure range. However, Summit would have to reopen negotiations with the stars if the movie is broken down into two separate ones, as they are only signed on to do four films. It is also being speculated that Chris Weitz will be asked to return to the directors chair. Although no official offer has been made as of yet, sources say the job is his if he wants it. But will Weitz commit to the back-to-back films, which are sure to keep him away from his family for several months? I’m sure Summit is preparing to empty their wallets on this one in order to line up the correct pieces.

WTF? I must have missed that part in the book. At what point does Harry Potter strip to confuse magical beast with the power of peen?
A Brazilian Potter fansite claims that Daniel Radcliffe will appear nude in part one of the last installment of the series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”
The information came according to an interview with director David Yates for the magazine Sorrisi e Canzoni. Until the very moment, the information passed by the magazine is as follows:
Harry Potter appears naked in the next film in the saga. This was revealed last week by the current edition of the magazine tomorrow Sorrisi e Canzoni. The news comes from director David Yates, who said: “Daniel Radcliffe appears naked in one scene where Harry and Ron are fighting a magical creature, who fled to confuse and create a vision. In the view we see Harry and a woman embracing and kissing. It’s an intriguing scene and very sensual. “
The article also mentions that according to Yates, the first part of the film will be on the trio going from place to place, like a great journey, and the second show Hogwarts being destroyed, which according to him, will be a big battle (which we had already informed about). The news should be considered as a rumor, and wait out the magazine on newsstands tomorrow.
Egads. Broadway and all of London theater patrons have already seen Radcliffe’s magical bits so it will be like riding Space Mountain for the second time. The romance rumor of the day is that New Moon’s Caius Volturi, played by Jamie Campbell Bower, and Harry Potter’s girlfriend, Ginny played by Bonnie Wright, are bumping Weasleys.
This story of Jamie Campbell Bower’s girlfriend status has been on the lips of Twilight Team Volturi fans for months. Wright and Bower have been thrust together as lovers due thanks in part to the press circus for both upcoming blockbusting films, ‘New Moon’ and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”
Jamie will join the wizarding world as Gellert Grindelwald in the final two Potter films. Gellert was Dumbledore’s one and only true love. Getting chummy both on and off set, the two have spent free time in each other’s company. Most recently they hit a party hosted by the fashion bible.
Last week, the pair attended a party hosted by Vogue at the Saatchi Gallery, in Chelsea, to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Bulgari. “They arrived and left together, and were clearly very comfortable in each other’s company,” says a guest.
Rumors also started that Bonnie and Robert Pattinson were secretly dating, but were swiftly shot down after she stated that while she thinks he is attractive, he is absolutely “not her type.” She also states that she and Jamie are just friends. Photos of the Volturi eye candy with his actual girlfriend were snapped at last month’s Burberry fashion show in London. Photos of the two kissing at the The Serpentine Gallery summer party also blast any further validity to the Wright/Bower romance.

Here is a brief rundown of the new cast members of “New Moon.”
Jamie Campbell – Bower: Caius Volturi
The up and comer is well on his way in the movie world. Not only will Bower being portraying the one of the leaders of the Italian vampire coven, he also scored a role on the next installment of the Harry Potter films. He is rumored to be playing the teen version of Grindelwald in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.“ You might also recognize him from the Johnny Depp flick, “Sweeny Todd.”
Noot Seear: Heidi
This is the woman up to the job of tempting humans into the lair of the Volturi. Heidi will be played by model Noot Seear. She was the face of Giorgio Armani’s campaign in 2000 and then for Calvin Klein’s CK One perfume in 2001. Seear also walked in shows for Balenciaga, Lanvin, and Lagerfeld Gallery shows in Paris.
Alex Meraz: Paul
This nearly 6 foot tall piece of man meat might give Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner a run for their sex appeal. Sorry ladies, Meraz has a wife. He will be undertaking the role of Paul in the “Twilight” films. In his spare time he loves to paint and spend time with his daughter.
Tyson Houseman: Quil Ateara
Tyson Houseman will be taking the role as a part of Jacob Black’s wolf pack. He will be making his film debut as Quil Ateara.
Dakota Fanning: Jane Volturi
Dakota is no stranger to film. She has already won several accolades for her work and has nearly 40 appearances on tv and film under her belt at the tender age of 15. She burst onto the Hollywood scene with her performance in the movie “I am Sam” starring along side of Sean Penn.
Of course you know the rest. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will all be back in the next installment of the vampire saga.

After year’s of trouble for the cast and crew of the Harry Potter movies, another even occurred on the set of the “Deathly Hallows: Part 1“: Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double fell while rehearsing, due to an explosion on-set.

The 25-year-old was rehearsing a flying sequence using a harness when he was sent plummeting by the blast, which was part of the stunt. He was conscious after smashing to the ground but told horrified colleagues: “I can’t feel my legs.”
“He told crew members who went to help him he couldn’t feel anything from the waist down. Everyone is just hoping he makes a good recovery. It has come as a terrible shock,” said a source.
After this, I would seriously reconsider being part of the magical world of Harry Potter, considering what has happened to others who have worked with the movie. Let’s look at the evidence: In May 2008 Rob Knox was stabbed to death in Sidcup. He plays the role of Marcus Belby in the “Half Blood Prince”. As well in March 2008, Daniel Radcliffe had to have 4 bodyguards with him because a stalker sent him death threats. Charming. And then on October 2002 the original Dumbledore, Richard Harris, died from cancer.
As if that were not enough, 2008 also marked issues on-set for the “Half Blood Prince”, which eventually lead to filming being halted altogether. Apparently in Farnham, Surrey the set was battered by storms, streakers (!) and so many special-effects issues that filming was actually stopped.
I find all of this rather creepy. Isn’t it only supposed to movies like “The Omen” and “Polergeist” that have curses? Why my beloved Harry Potter??
The Dame – The man injured is said to be David Holmes. His family issued this statement today:
We would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We are trusting in the expertise of the medical staff who are caring for David and would ask the media to please respect the privacy of our family while we concentrate on helping each other through this difficult time.
Currently his scans are being looked at back doctors. Our hopes here at Hollywood Dame are for a full and speedy recovery.
