Jason Bateman Booed For Cutting iPhone Line

Is there an app for saying ‘I’m sorry?’ Jason Bateman ticked off a crowd of 2,000 people at the iPhone 4 launch event in L.A. yesterday when he was escorted out of line and into the store by an Apple Employee. The crowd then started to shout out and boo at Bateman.

Per Us:

“Everyone literally started booing and hissing!” a source tells UsMagazine.com.

Adds another witness, “The crowd freaked and booed, and he put his head down.”

And since everyone waiting in line was a techno geek with an old model handy, it should come as no surprise that the special treatment was captured in full, then posted online. The line of people waiting for the latest gadget was wrapped around the block when Bateman arrived. After just a few minutes, a store rep came outside, pulled him out of the line and walked him into the store. To be fair, if Bateman was a really obnoxious big-time superstar he wouldn’t have been standing among others in ratty jeans and a T-Shirt waiting patiently for his turn. He would have waited in a limo and had a personal assistant stand in line for him, then berated the poor sap for taking so long to get it.
