Now I am not the biggest ‘graphic novel’ fan, but “The Watchmen” just looks so slick. I mean, have you seen the trailer, where ‘the Comdian’ is thrown out the window in slow motion? That’s hawt. And mean in a stylistic way. And now, to continue its amazing advertising campaign, there are going to be for Entertainment Weekly. Different copies of the magazine feature Rorschach, the Comedian, Dr. Manhattan, Silk Spectre, Nite Owl, and Ozymandias. If you follow this link, you can order the different covers over the internet. I personally like the Comedian one the best, he’s just so bada$$!!
“The Watchmen” is due out in mere weeks–March 6th to be exact. It is about an alternate 1985, where Nixon is still president and tension between the United States and the Soviet Union are still going strong. Vigilante Rorschach investigates the murder of a former hero and uncovers a plot to discredit and murder various heroes. It stars a gammut of people: Billy Crudup as Dr. Jon Osterman / Doctor Manhattan; Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Edward Blake / The Comedian; Malin Akerman as Laurie Juspeczyk / Silk Spectre II; Patrick Wilson as Daniel Dreiberg / Nite Owl II and Jackie Earle Haley as Walter Kovacs / Rorschach. It is directed by Zack Snyder, who directed “300“.
All I have to say is that “The Watchmen” looks as visually stunning as “300″ and it has a really cool plot. But will all the die-hard fans be able to handle this adaptation? Do I really care?? I just like shiny, pretty films!
