Remember how Katy Perry‘s mom was shopping around a book about how she thinks her daughter is Satan’s whore and that she’s going to hell, all while riding her to fame and fortune? Yeah, that hasn’t changed at all.
When she was growing up, Katy was allowed to only listen to gospel music. The only book her parents read to her was the Bible. She even wasn’t allowed to watch TV. So it didn’t take long for Katy to let loose when she signed a record deal. You can imagine her parent’s disapproval when they heard their daughter on the radio singing, “I Kissed a Girl, and I Liked It.”
