Are country music fans ready to put their paws up and chant “Don’t be a drag, just be a queen?” The song that is tearing up hot 100 on the Billboard Charts has been, well… remastered of sorts. Lady Gaga and her crew teamed up to release a country version of “Born This Way.” This version, co-produced by Mama Monster herself, opens with the same spoken part about “H-I-M,” but then the synthesizers and thumping beat are replaced with a guitar, some wailing harmonica, a slowed-down tempo and a revised bridge.
And she even changed up the lyrics a little in the middle of the song!
Per E! Online:
“If we want to make it country, baby, it’s OK/ ‘Cause I was born, I was born, I was born this way/ From London, Paris, Japan, back to U.S.A./ I was born on the road, I was born to brave.”
When Lady Gaga first made the announcement yesterday that this new version of her #1 hit would be released, the country world was a little weary. After all, this is the woman known for meat dresses and living inside of an egg for three days. But when that tweet came at 3am and YouTube was bombarded with Gaga’s Little Monsters, it became apparent that this girl kinda knew what she was doing. Via Twitter, Lady Gaga told her followers the country version was a “surprise” to thank them for making “Born This Way” No. 1 for six weeks in a row on the Billboard Hot 100.
I think the mix is somewhat of a mess. However, I think I like this version more than the overproduced mess of the original. I give her credit for doing it, but she would have been better with a more stripped down version. What do YOU think? Sound off in the comment box below!

Malaysian radio stations are banning lines from Lady Gaga ‘s “Born This Way” from airing because they think it’s “gay” message is harmful to the public. Many popular stations have replaced lyrics with garbble that you can’t understand because they say it’s offensive.
The line ‘No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I’m on the right track, baby,‘ has been taken out because the mostly-Muslim country has laws they say may be violate “good taste or decency or (are) offensive to public feeling.”
Per MSNBC:
“The particular lyrics in ‘Born This Way’ may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia’s social and religious observances,” the company said in a statement to The Associated Press. “The issue of being gay, lesbian or (bisexual) is still considered as a ‘taboo’ by general Malaysians.”
Broadcasters could face up to $16,000 in fines if they are found guilty of violating these laws. Malaysian gay rights activist Pang Khee Teik said the media should be “a platform for marginalized voices and create understanding – not perpetuate ignorance and hate.” He continued by saying that Lagy Gaga should help protest and tell stations to not even play her song at all. In recent years, gay Malaysians have tried to press for greater acceptance, but clearly discrimination persists. File this under ‘Ironic, isn’t it?’ as this was the very message that Lady Gaga was attempting to address in the censored lyrics.
Malaysia has in the past banned a few Kylie Minogue music videos, and Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas covered up more than usual for a 2009 show there. Beyonce was also asked to tone down her show for a 2009 date that was later postponed.

Previously there was a rumor that Lady Gaga‘s perfume was to smell like blood and semen. Well she said in a recent interview that wasn’t true… but what is it supposed to smell like?! Well, not much better.
Per Huffington Post:
She explained, “No, no, no. Actually the perfume smells like an expensive hooker.” Oh. Ok, then. Our bad on the misinformation.
She added, “I wanted to extract sort of the feeling and sense of blood and semen from molecular structures, so that’s where [the rumors] came from and that is in the perfume but it doesn’t smell like that.”
Just what every little monster was hoping for I’m sure… to smell like they’ve been rode hard and put away wet. And for those of you who are disappointed by this news, here’s something to make you feel better – the blood, er, essence was taken from Gaga herself. So there’s that. I’m sure it will sell like a wildfire though simply because her name is on it. We are such robots in society when it come to marketing.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga’s new video for “Born This Way” is set to debut Monday – so make sure to check Hollywood Dame for it!

Lady Gaga is such a tease. We’re still 16 days away from the official release of Gaga’s first single from her new CD that will be out in May. Last week she previewed some of what we may hear on the new CD at a fashion show in France. Have you heard it? Just makes me more excited for the new CD. Seriously, May cannot come soon enough and neither could February 13th for the first single. Now today she officially releases the lyrics from her song ‘Born this Way.’
Per MTV:
Born This Way Lyrics
Intro
It doesn’t matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up
’cause you were Born This Way, BabyVerse
My Mama told me when I was young
We are all born stars
She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir
“There’s nothing wrong with lovin’ who you are”
She said, “Cause he made you perfect, babe.”
“So hold your head up girl and you’ll go far,
Listen to me when I say”Chorus
I’m beautiful in my way
Cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track baby
I was born this way
Don’t hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you’re set
I’m on the right track baby
I was born this wayPost-Chorus
Ooo there ain’t no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way
Ooo there ain’t no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way
Ooo there ain’t no other way
Baby I was born this way
I’m on the right track baby
I was born this wayDon’t be a drag, just be a queen
Don’t be a drag, just be a queen
Don’t be!Verse
Give yourself prudence
And love your friends
Subway kid, rejoice your truthIn the religion of the insecure
I must be myself, respect my youth
A different lover is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-M (hey hey hey)
I love my life I love this record and
Mi amore vole fe yah (love needs faith)Repeat Chorus and Post-chorus
Bridge
Don’t be a drag, be a queen
Whether you’re broke or evergreen
You’re black, white, beige chola descent
You’re Lebanese, You’re Orient
Whether life’s disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
Cause baby you we’re born this way
No matter gay, straight, or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life
I’m on the right track baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or Orient made
I’m on the right track baby
I was born to be braveRepeat Chorus

It seems that the celebrity world has been full of people headed to rehab, pregnancies, and engagements in just these few weeks of 2011. The latest rumor is reporting that Lady Gaga has jumped on the celebrity engagement bandwagon – “Sources” are reporting that Lady Gaga and her boyfriend Luc Carl have decided to get married. They spent Christmas with his family in the home he grew up in Nebraska and Gaga realized she wanted to take the plunge.
Per AceShowBiz:
However, they won’t get in rush to tie the knot. “She and Luc are in no rush to name a wedding date,” a source close to GaGa reveals. “She doesn’t even have a proper ring because he couldn’t afford one.”
It’s speculated that on February 13th, the same day Gaga will release her first single from her upcoming album ‘Born this Way,’ that she will also announce her engagement. Hmmmm… not sure I am buying this one, but I will keep you posted!

Only Lady Gaga could find a way to make New Years Eve all about her! It was Christmas Day when she promised her little monsters a big announcement for the new year and she definitely followed through. At the stroke of midnight she took Twitter into 2011 with some big news about her upcoming album, ‘Born This Way.’ Lady Gaga tweeted the assumed provocative cover for the album and gave us some cryptic release dates.

That’s a Feb. 13th release for the single, and May 23rd for the album. YES! Wait – the album is not going to be here until May?! I am very impatient, but excited for her new single which will be released the day of the 52nd Grammy Awards Show where she is up for six awards including Album Of The Year – so there’s a good chance that she plans on debuting the song during the ceremony.

As year end is getting closer we are getting more details on Lady Gaga‘s next CD, ‘Born This Way‘. It’s due out in 2011 and I for one am super excited to hear what she’s been working on. Over the weekend Gaga talked about the new CD during one of her shows. According to a concert goer, she said the CD is done and will have 20 tracks! She is always making huge promises to her fans about her next release. While on stage in Poland, Gaga shared these details of the new cd.
Per Celebuzz:
“I promise you, I’ll never let you down. And not for nothing: The album’s finished and it’s f*****g really good. So whatever this is, whatever you just did for all of us… I promise to give you the greatest album of this decade, just for you. The funny thing is that some people have reduced freedom to a brand. They think that it’s trendy now to be free. They think it’s trendy to be excited about your identity. When in truth, there is nothing trendy about Born This Way. This connection that we all share is something so much deeper than a wig or lipstick or an outfit, or a fucking meat dress. Born This Way is about what keeps us up at night and what makes us afraid.”
If you weren’t excited before about Born This Way – you should be NOW!

Last night music’s heavy hitters walked a white carpet and of course Lady Gaga didn’t disappoint with her notorious penchant for wearing the oddest garb. However, Taylor Swift managed to steal the show again this year with her song about the Kanye West debacle that overshadowed last year’s MTV VMAs.

Taylor, standing barefoot on an all black stage, belted out her song ‘Still an Innocent’ that was written in response to West and his ridiculous ego. Kanye also performed at the 2010 MTV VMAs. Clad in an all red suit he played pranced around with some ballerinas on a white stage singing ‘Runaway’ which is being tossed around as ‘Toast for the Douchebags.’

Eminem also took the stage post bout in rehab and laid down two songs from his new album ‘Recovery.” Em, in his black jacket and hooded, stomped around the stage pleasing the crowd with ‘Not Afraid.’ Rihanna and her Ronald McDonald red hair joined Eminem on stage to sing the crowd favorite ‘Love the Way You Lie.’

The entire show was tame and lacked any real ‘shock’ factor that usually follows with tales of douchebaggery, celebs saying/doing naughty things or Eminem getting a face full of Borat’s rump. Even Lindsay Lohan making a debut after being jailed for being a drunken ho and rehabbed for being a crack Snorlax didn’t really wow anyone.
