Lil’ Wayne Moved To Solitary Confinement

Lil’ Wayne is in tttrrrooouuubbbllleee!! The incarcerated ‘Young Money’ leader will spend the remainder of his prison sentence – 29 days – in solitary confinement at Rikers Island after he was found with music-related contraband. According to reports, Lil’ Wayne was found with a pair of headphones and a charger while another inmate held an MP3 player for him.

Per NY Daily News:

Weezy won’t be going near other inmates during the rare moments when he is not locked down in a so-called “punitive segregation” cell – known as “The Bing” among Rikers Island jailbirds.

“He’s not in an area where he is mingling with other inmates – ever,” a Correction Department source said.

As part of his punishment, Lil’ Wayne will only be allowed one personal phone call per week and only one hour of solo recreational time per day. The remainder of his time will be spent in solitary confinement, and he will have no further contact with his fellow jailbirds. Even if he has to see a doctor, Rikers guards will make sure he doesn’t have contact with other inmates. He’ll have to eat in his cell and will also have to forego tv.

Lil’ Wayne jailed in March after pleading guilty to gun possession. The charges were linked to his arrest in 2007 when a gun was found on his tour bus. He’s expected to be released on November 4th, only serving 8 months of his 1 year sentence with time off for good behavior, although his latest no-no may get that release date changed.

Rapper Lil’ Wayne aka Dwayne Carter, has pleaded guilty to attempted weapons charges today. The plea likely means Carter will have to serve a jail sentence of up to a year.

The rapper’s tour bus was stopped in NYC back in July of 2007 after officers claimed to have seen and smelled marijuana smoke coming from the bus.

Via Pop Eater:

“Police said that as an officer approached, the rapper (real name Wayne Carter) tossed away a Louis Vuitton bag containing a gun.

Prosecutors said trace amounts of DNA found on the loaded gun connected it to Wayne. His defense lawyer said the gun wasn’t his, and that there were flaws in the way the evidence was tested.”

Wayne was originally charged with criminal weapons possession, of which he pleaded not-guilty.

The rapper is also scheduled to appear in an Arizona court shortly on felony drug and weapons charges.
