Los Angeles electro-hip hop group, Far East Movement, have just released the official music video for their new single, “Jello” featuring Rye Rye. The video, directed by Matt Alonzo (Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy), shows the group crashing a political event with Tiger Woods, Oprah, and others.
Lil Wayne is getting an unspecified sum to give Grand Central Publishing the diaries he kept while jailed in New York City’s Rikers Island from March to November 2010. The book promises to be a riveting first-hand account of the people he met, his family, and his future.
Detroit’s tough-skinned pop singer, Porcelain Black, is gearing up for the release of her latest single, “Naughty Naughty.” The unofficial, sexy black and white video was filmed during a recent show at The Factory in Los Angeles. The official video for the song will be released early next year.
Yesterday the nominees for this year’s American Music Awardswere announced. The big show is coming up November 20th on ABC. So who was on top with the most nods?
Well, whaddya know? The white boy’s still got it. Eminem has beaten Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg to be crowned the world’s most successful rapper, being named as the king of hip-hop by Rolling Stone magazine, with editors tallying up album sales, social media hits and critical acclaim since 2009. Eminem garnered 7.5 million record sales, 1.3 billion views on YouTube.com, and has five million Twitter followers – putting him way above his peers. They also looked at R&B and hip-hop chart placings, tour revenues, award show wins and reviews from a range of critics.
The much anticipated new album, King of Hearts, from R&B singer, Lloyd, hits stores TODAY! King of Hearts, Lloyd’s fourth studio album, features his hit singles “Lay It Down,” which reached #7 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts, his latest single “Cupid,” as well as “Be The One” featuring Trey Songz and Young Jeezy and “Dedication To My Ex (Miss That)” featuring Andre 3000 Narrated by Lil Wayne.
Justin Bieber is used to getting his way in the music industry. Bieber sings a song and it becomes an instant hit so everyone figures he’s the go-to-guy for collaborations. However, Justin’s luck recently ran out when he asked Young Money CEO Lil Wayne to appear on one of his songs. Bieber was shocked with the outcome to say the least when he was told ‘No!’

Since Enrique Iglesias hit ESC key on Britney Spears because he was rumored to have a gigantic ego/wanted more cash, Brit’s camp has been in negotiations to replace her opening act. Technically they will be “co-headlining,” but Nicki Minaj is officially touring with Spears on her Femme Fatale tour.
Most TMZ suggests that fans seem to think Minaj is a far better choice than Enrique and are happy to hear of the replacement. They could have replaced him with a can of soup and this will still be a sold out tour. Brit stans will pay top dollar to watch her sit on a box and flap her jaws to a pre-recorded song about a bass swelling. Alas, I could be wrong. While the reviews are decent, projections for the album are low. Pair that with body doubles doing most of the dancing for Britney’s videos and you get my what’s the point? shrug.
