Lindsay Lohan has a little more explaining to do after a judge decided on Thursday she will have to answer questions for a civil suit related to a 2007 car chase that lead to her arrest. Lohan will have to sit for an additional two hours under oath to answer questions not addressed in a previous deposition, including whether she was using drugs the day of the incident. During the last deposition in May she invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and refused to answer. Lohan’s attorney Ed McPherson called the request “a bit of overkill” aimed at embarrassing her.
Per E!:
“In general, although I think that the questions they want to ask Lindsay are improper, we will participate in the deposition, as ordered by Judge Stone, and Lindsay will respond to their questions honestly,” attorney Ed McPherson told E! News. “Fortunately, the judge has limited the harassment to two hours.”
Lohan is being sued for assault, negligence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress by Tracie Rice, the mother of Lohan’s former assistant, who was driving the car Lohan was chasing the night of her first DUI arrest. (She is also facing legal action from three men who have accused her of kidnapping and endangering their lives when she allegedly jumped into a vehicle they were passengers in and took off on the wild ride through Malibu.) Lohan was arrested after the incident and charged with driving under the influence. Police also found cocaine in her pocket and tests came back to reportedly show two different types of cocaine in her system. A date for Lohan to testify has yet to be made, although the judge has agreed to wait until after her next probation hearing regarding alleged probation violations. She’s due back for that in court on July 6th and her civil case is expected to go to trial in late July.
So will it be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth or will Lohan come up with another one of her fantasical excuses? I think it will go something like this: “That wasn’t my urine test. I slipped and fell on a straw and sniffed the coke that was in my way” or “Maybe someone slipped it in my pants and it got in my system because of that.” I bet she’ll lie and say that the drug test was somehow manipulated by people who are out to get her.
