Karl Lagerfeld Blasts Adele’s Weight, Lana Del Ray’s Implants

In a guest post for the free paper the Metro, Karl Lagerfeld shared his taste in music. The Chanel designer loves himself some Adele (who doesn’t?), but he felt the need to qualify that statement in regard to her size.

Justin Bieber, Amy Poehler, Bruno Mars, and Chris Colfer Top ‘Time 100 List’

Where else would celebrities such as Blake Lively and Justin Bieber rub shoulders with controversial figures as Iraqi strongman Muqtada al-Sadr and French fascist Marine Le Pen? “TIME Magazine” has released their list of 100 important people for this year – The annual count of the people who, for better or worse, make our world fascinating and includes an essay by their mentors. Bieber got big nods, as well as Bruno Mars in the music world. Amy Poehler and “Glee!” star Chris Colfer were also the big TV stars to get honored on the TIME 100 list.

Michelle Obama’s Prague Fashion Redemption

So I have to address the Michelle Obama sweater-gate that took place a few days ago. Several of you loved her argyle/sequins combo while others, like myself, hated it and found it an odd choice to wear to meet the royalty and fellow country running comrades. I hold to that opinion. However, I am First Lady Obama fan so….

I post this in a peace offering. The jet-set First Lady flew to Prague after making a stop in France to visit Carla Bruni. During the flight to her next destination, Michelle busted out a body hugging black dress and black cropped cardigan that boasted three quarter sleeves.

Redemption at it’s finest. It was simple and appropriate travel wear. Obama also sported her favorite kitten heels. Upgrade. It was a bit different for her. She isn’t afraid of color, which I do (believe it or not) adore about her, but this flight friendly style was demure and (forgive me if conservatives) sexy.

Michelle Obama Invited to ‘30 Rock’

Alec Baldwin wants himself a piece of the Presidential Power Couple. The Baldwin Brother is after Michelle Obama. He told the gossip purveyors over at Hollyscoop that he’d love to have The First Lady on “30 Rock.”

“I would like Michelle Obama on 30 Rock. The President is on TV every day, all day. So we want to get something different.”

He also teased about a romantic plotline….

“I think my character falls in love with Michelle Obama, of course.” He jokingly added, “You know, if it doesn’t work out with Barack …”

I would love to see this happen. It would totally kick Jennifer Aniston’s guest star episode’s ass. (Provided episodes have buttocks.)

Michelle Obama Sweater Debacle – Photos

Everyone is going nuts over Michelle Obama’s sweater. The President’s wife met the Queen of England wearing a button down frumpy sweater. Michelle has gotten a lot criticism for wearing sleeveless looks and “looking like she constantly at a cocktail party.” I like her style, but her London visit wardrobe was a fail and a fry cry from her stunning entrance into the White House and lovely Vogue feature. See the Obama Vogue Feature by clicking HERE.

Then the First Lady wore another awful cardigan, by Junya Watanbe, that clashed blues with her dress. Her other choices were by J. Crew. J. Crew is never acceptable for a meeting-the-Queen-wear. She even missed a button on the Junya sweater and looks like a kindergartner who needs help. Someone needs to let her in on the secret that argyle and sequins are horrid combination.

That and when meeting the queen and foreign ambassadors it’s not wise to bust out the snakeskin pumps. Save it for Ladies Night at Camp David.

Note by The Dame: Thank you to those pointing out the Junya Watanbe sweater. However she DID wear J. Crew in some the photos show.

Michelle Obama’s Vogue Spread – Photos

The First Lady of Fierce is on the cover of Vogue.

Michelle Obama is the second Presidential wife to graced the cover of the Fashion Bible. Hilary Clinton was first to make the cover in 1998. Annie Leibovitz was the photographer for the shoot that took place at the Hay-Adams Hotel. This was the Obama family’s digs before the official inauguration.

On the cover she is wearing a bold magenta dress by Jason Wu. (He was also responsible for her inaugural gown.) In the issue she also wears a simple little black dress by another of her personal favorites, Narciso Rodriguez. Inside she address a few questions one was about trying to keep her role as mother first in her life.

Via The Washington Post Per Vogue:

“I’m going to try to take [our two daughters] to school every morning – as much as I can,” she says, according to the Post. “But there’s also a measure of independence. And obviously there will be times I won’t be able to drop them off at all. I like to be a presence in my kids’ school. I want to know the teacher; I want to know the other parents.”

Anna Wintour also sang her praises. (This speaks volumes as Wintour is a bit…well…picky.)

“Change was the clarion call of Barack Obama’s election campaign, though I don’t think any of us at Vogue initially realized that would include the difference that was going to be made by First Lady Michelle Obama’s wardrobe … It’s inspiring to see our first lady so serene and secure in her personal style.”

Thank God Annie let her keep her top on. What? Too soon?

Etta James Threatens to Whoop Beyonce – Audio

Now here’s a fight I’d pay hundred of dollars for a ticket to watch! 71-year-old singer Etta James actually threatened to beat the crap out of Beyonce Knowles. And it’s all be caught on tape! Fierce & feisty Etta showed who the real diva was and lashed out extra hard on Beyonce during her concert in Seattle a few nights ago reports MTV. James was none too pleased at Beyonces’ rendition of her signature song “At Last” during the first dance of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at last month’s Neighborhood Inaugural Ball. TMZ caught the audio for her slam on Beyonce.

Via YBF:

“You guys know your president, right? You know the one with the big ears? Wait a minute, he ain’t my president, he might be yours, he ain’t my president. You know that woman he had singing for him, singing my song–she’s going to get her ass whipped.”

“The great Beyonce. I can’t stand Beyonce,” she spat. “She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol’ president day, singing my song that I’ve been singing forever.”

Beyonce recently immortalized the legendary singer Etta James in the big screen production “Cadillac Records,” which came out in December. So far neither Beyonce or her reps have had any comments. Ironically Etta didn’t kick up a fuss for Beyonce’s portrayal of her in the movie. She acted as a mentor to Beyonce and even attended the movies premiere, posing for pictures with the younger diva. Don’t let those wrinkles fool ya, she’ll still kick your ass! My money is on James!

Michelle Obama’s Jason Wu Ball Dress – Photos and Video

Being First Lady sure has its perks. Just ask Michelle Obama, who celebrated her husband Barack Obama’s Inauguration at the Commander in Chief Ball in a gorgeous white, one-shouldered Ivory chiffon Jason Wu gown. The many-layered dress had a one-shoulder strap and was flecked with organza flowers and crystals. “I have the special honor of being the guy who accompanied Michelle Obama to the ball.” President Obama told the miltary guests at the ball.

Per Us Magazine via The Dallas Morning News:

“(Michelle’s choice) is a balancing act between being a queen and a commoner,” Carl Sferrazza Anthony, a historian who’s written about first ladies, told The Dallas Morning News. “The inaugural gown is a metaphor for the first lady role. They reflect around the world an image of our country.”

Meanwhile, the president’s choice of attire was a custom tuxedo made by Chicago-based designer Hart Schaffner Marx. It has been said that President Obama hasn’t purchased a tux in 15 years.

Michelle Obama Inaugural Dress

We finally have our new President, Barack Obama, in office and George W. Bush is off to rope some cattle and enjoy Friday Night Tickle Fights with Dick Cheney undisturbed.

Our new First Lady, Michelle Obama, wore Isabel Toldeo’s golden creation. I like her already. She strikes me as the type to rock a bumper sticker that says: “I Roll With Pretty Bitches” or something like that.

Michelle Obama Scores Vogue Cover

Anna Wintour is a woman who gets what she wants. After trying to get the newly elected President’s wife on the cover for several months, Michelle Obama will be on the cover of Vogue.

Wintour has been after Michelle since last September. However, this might not be the first magazine to feature The First Lady on the cover. Ebony and Essence are both in the ring to score her first.

“The Chicago-based title [Ebony] is quickly assembling a special January issue dedicated to Barack Obama’s candidacy…Essence is also said to be working on a special package for its January issue, but details have not been hammered out.”

She is fast becoming the revamped, but traditionally fashion sensitive Lady of the White House. She and her husband, Barack Obama, have already been featured in several magazines. This would mark her first solo cover.
