Jay-Z Refuses to Pose with Victoria Secret Models

jay-z-at-victoria-secret-fashion-show-1.jpg

Beyonce sure knows how to keep her men on lockdown! Reportedly, although her hubby Jay-Z attended the Victoria Secret’s fashion show last week, he wouldn’t pose with any of the models for photographs or even walk down the red carpet with them at their lingerie show Thursday all because he didn’t want to upset his wife.

Per NY Post:

“Victoria’s Secret begged, but Jay-Z refused . . . he explained it was out of respect for Beyoncé.”

At an afterparty at M2, he was given a private booth so he could keep his distance from models such as Alessandra Ambrosio, Selita Ebanks, Chanel Iman, Miranda Kerr and Heidi Klum – you know, the girls most guys would make a stampede towards and trample anyone that gets in their way. Here is a man who respects his marital relationship. How refreshing! It can happen. Its just too bad his wife doesn’t show him the same form of respect when she parades around in her skimpy outfits in front of thousands of people. I’m just saying…

Agyness Deyn Brings Classy Back in Bulgari

Agyness Deyn attended the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala looking like she walked out of an old Hollywood film. The model making headway in the fashion world was adorned in some of Bulgari’s finest work. She combined vintage glamour with a modern flair.

Personally I am a fan of Bulgari’s fragrance Omnia Amethyste. To add to the brand’s growing appeal, a skin care line is now being offered. The addition has everything from cleansing to regenerating items. Yours truly will be sampling and reviewing some of the new skincare line. So keep your eyes open for the upcoming Bulgari Skincare Line review.

Models Aren’t Playing Nice with Jesus

Now that Madonna has been rejected as a suitable mother for Mercy James, she has invited Jesus back to her lair. Of course he obliged being that no one is stupid enough to pass up a free meal ticket.

Madge is calling in some favors and asking designer pals to hire Luz. Of course they also obliged because she is freaking Madonna. Recently Marc Jacobs pulled strings and even wrote him a letter of recommendation to stay in the country. Dolce and Gabbana have also hired him for their fall-winter men’s campaign. Donatella Versace is entertaining his involvement with in a campaign.

This all isn’t sitting well with all of the other male models. I am sure they laugh and call him names and exclude him from all their model games.

Via Gatecrasher:

“Madonna’s sometime-boy-toy got straight-up dissed by the other male catwalkers as he prepped for the Jeffrey Fashion Cares event last week at Espace. Says one backstage source: “None of the other models would talk to Jesus or even look at him. They were gossiping like catty girls about how they couldn’t wait for his career to fizzle out.”

Even his friends are sick of Jesus. They sat him down and told him he acting like a diva and needs to sit down.

“He has a big, swollen head,” says a Madonna camp pal. “Jesus was trying to charge 100K per appearance in Brazil. Friends finally sat him down and told him to get real and to stop thinking he’s the male answer to Gisele, because he isn’t.”

Those are some great friends.

Australia’s Miss Universe, Stephanie Naumoska, Starving to Death – Photos

Stephanie Naumoska, a Miss Universe hopefull, is reportedly starving herself thin…and to death.

The 19 year old model is 5’11 and weighs a meager 108 pounds. The BMI (Body Mass Index) cut off for “Underweight Individuals” is 18.5 according to the pageant rules. Samantha clocks in a BMI of 15.1. The weight controversy of too fat and too thin has been a long battle. Some medical professionals insist that the cut off should be raised to 20 to encourage healthy bodies. Regardless, her weight caused a frenzy in the competition.

Per That’s Fit:

“Naumoska shouldn’t have even been there in the first place, according to some doctors. Australian Medical Association president Rosanna Capolingua, whose organization represents Australian doctors, told Reuters the contest should impose a minimum BMI cut-off of 20.

“The most unhealthy part about it, though, is the image it is showing other young women who may view this as normal, when clearly it s not,” Capolingua said.

BMI is also used in the fashion industry. Models must meet a minimum BMI to walk in shows, such as Fashion Week, in some parts of the world. Madrid is notorious for putting a ban on models who fall below the requirement. In 2006 5 models were banned from the catwalk for Fashion Week after showing up below weight. They were 5’7 and weighed 121 pounds. (Remember, Naumoska is 5’11 and weighs 108.)

Is it weird that I immediately thought of Marc Anthony when seeing these photos?

Tyson Beckford: ‘Celebs are Stealing Jobs from Models’

Tyson Beckford, a veteran male model turned reality tv show host, is hitting out at celebrities who are taking over the fashion world.

Beckford, who is currently hosting “Make Me a Supermodel,” is frustrated with celebs taking the fashion reigns from models. Magazine covers are being dominated by celebrities adorned in high clothing. They are taking the place of those who are physically gifted. Vogue, W and InStyle are just a few who prefer a celeb on the front cover as opposed to models.

Per AP:

“You have to do a lot of tweaking and airbrushing to get the same from a celebrity that you would get from a model. A lot of celebrities — I’m gonna tell you right now — they’re not 5’11″; they’re not a size 2 to fit into these designer dresses, but the designers want exposure so they’re willing to make the specific dress for that actor or actress to get them to look good on the cover.”

Currently the A-list ranks of Hollywood sell the magazines better than just a pretty face. A staple question at a red carpet event flooded with celebs is: “Who are you wearing?” Does this mean the time of the model is over? Not according to Tyson. Designers rely on the famous to market their clothing now, but the fashion world is notoriously fickle.

“It’ll all come back around. One day some designer will wake up and say, `You know what? I don’t want to use Gwyneth Paltrow. I want to use Adriana Lima, I want to use Gisele (Bundchen), I want to go back to the high fashion. I think slowly but surely you’ll see that start happening.”

Agreed. I also can’t wait until the ‘pail and frail’ trend passes. The runways are littered with gaunt models who look as though they have wandered out of Auschwitz.

Anna Wintour NOT Leaving Vogue

The rumors of Anna Wintour’s departure from the fashion Bible are not true. So the interns secretly celebrating the end of her reign need to get back to looking busy.

Rumors that Wintour was leaving Vogue to serve Barack Obama at the White House are false. She was said to be undertaking a “cultural post” in the administration. This is all complete bunk. A rep for Anna states that she isn’t entertaining any ideas of leaving the magazine.

“It’s totally not true. She won’t be working for Obama in any way. What you hear about her leaving is nothing more than rumor.”

Long live the Ice Queen. Yes, I bow down to the Editor. I believe that she is the version of me who got off her rump and put the Kashi down to go be productive. That I and I am pretty sure if I pissed her off I would wake up with the head of a model in my bed.
