Taylor Lautner’s Acting Slammed by Critics

Egads. Taylor Lautnerisn’t doing so well with the critics. ‘Abduction’ is getting dismal reviews and some are blaming it on Lautner’s acting.

The current average rating (as of the moment this is published) the thriller is only getting an average rating of 3.2/10. Just 55% of the audience liked it and only took $10.9 million. (Compare to the $22 million second week re-release gross of ‘The Lion King.’)

Sarah Lane and Natalie Portman ‘Black Swan’ Feud

Just in time for the DVD release of ‘Black Swan’ comes a celebrity feud. Incredibly convenient no?

Sarah Lane was Natalie Portman’s body double in the ballet thriller (there’s two words I never thought would be used in conjunction), ‘Black Swan,’ is crying IMMA VICTIM! Lane is a soloist from the American Ballet Theatre who claims she did 95% of the dancing seen on the film. Natalie has been given the credit for the work and Sarah is throwing a big NOPE at the producer’s and the film’s choreographer/Natalie’s fiancé/baby daddy, Benjamin Millepied.

Via EW:

“Of the full body shots, I would say 5 percent are Natalie. All the other shots are me. The shots that are just her face with arms, those shots are definitely Natalie. But that doesn’t show the actual dancing. They wanted to create this idea in people’s minds that Natalie was some kind of prodigy or so gifted in dance and really worked so hard to make herself a ballerina in a year and a half for the movie, basically because of the Oscar,” says Lane. “It is demeaning to the profession and not just to me. I’ve been doing this for 22 years…. Can you become a concert pianist in a year and a half, even if you’re a movie star? I mean, from a professional dancer’s standpoint, she doesn’t look like a professional ballet dancer at all and she can’t dance in pointe shoes. And she can’t move her body; she’s very stiff,” says Lane. “I do give her a lot of credit because in a year and a half she lost a lot of weight and she really tried to go method and get into a dancers head and really feel like a ballet dancer.”

The future Mr. Portman disagrees and threw some shade while trying to convince everyone it was Natalie.

“There are articles now talking about her dance double [American Ballet Theatre dancer Sarah Lane] that are making it sound like [Lane] did a lot of the work, but really, she just did the footwork, and the fouettés, and one diagonal [phrase] in the studio,” he said. “Honestly, 85 percent of that movie is Natalie.”

Since then, the filmmakers have also added their claims that Natalie did most of the work and Sarah is a liar, liar tutu on fire.

“We were fortunate to have Sarah there to cover the more complicated dance sequences and we have nothing but praise for the hard work she did. However, Natalie herself did most of the dancing featured in the final film.”

I am sure Natalie shrugged and said, “Whateves, I’m gonna go polish my Oscar.”

Carey Mulligan Nabs ‘Great Gatsby’ Role

The adorable spokesperson for Best Western sweet potato fries has won the role that Abbie Cornish, Keira Knightley, Michelle Williams, Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca Hall, Blake Lively, Natalie Portman and Amanda Seyfried were all fighting over like it was the last cheeseburger on Earth. (Damn, now I am hankering for a double double. Stickers and 10 points to anyone who brings me one.) Carey Mulligan is Daisy Buchanan in the remake of ‘The Great Gatsby.’

Via Deadline:

Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann has found his Daisy Buchanan. He has officially given the starring role in The Great Gatsby to Carey Mulligan, the Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and Never Let Me Go star who’ll play the manipulative heroine when Luhrmann starts production on his adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald literary classic.

He called her on her cell phone to deliver the news that she will share the silver screen with Leonardo DiCaprio (Jay Gatsby) and Tobey Maguire (Nick Carraway). Carey was at the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Awards Dinner with Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour. She reportedly broke down in tears after finding out she was going to get to movie hump Leo. I am guessing Karl and Anna looked at her, rolled their eyes and gave a half-assed clap with a forced smile.

Harry Potter Set Tours Coming in 2012

My inner geek is exploding with nerdgasms! The sets from all 8 Harry Potter movies will be expanded and made tourist friendly. The U.S. has The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, now the UK will have the actual HP sets. (Click HERE for my park review including price lists, photos and rumors of expansion!)

Leavesden will be home to a Harry Potter experience that many have wizard fans have dreamed of. The sets of all the films will be transformed into a studio tour. This plan is the beginning stages, but an opening date of 2012 has been projected.

Via Deadline:

“Leavesden, the north-west London-based studio where Warner has filmed all 8 Harry Potter movies, is to be refurbished and expanded. A Harry Potter studio tour – offering fans the chance to see the actual sets — will be part of the new Leavesden, which will re-open mid-2012.”

Rumor is that a budget of $161 million is tied to this project. My advice to Warner Brothers (in the words of the great RuPaul)…DON’T F**K IT UP.

Sacha Baron Cohen to Play Freddie Mercury

Sacha Baron Cohen (aka Borat) has scored the role of Freddie Mercury in an upcoming biopic. The film is being slated for 2011 and currently still being penned by Peter Morgan.

Via Deadline:

“The untitled film will be financed by GK Films partners Graham King and Tim Headington, who’ll produce in partnership with Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal’s Tribeca Productions, and Queen Films. Morgan is already working on a script focused on the band’s formative years, leading up to Queen’s appearance at Live Aid in 1985.”

Cohen just closed the deal on role. The big question is whether or not he will be singing or if Freddie’s vocals will be used. A firmer answer will come as a director is chosen.

Surviving members of Queen will also be on hand during the process. Roger Taylor, Brian May and John Deacon have licensed songs to be used in the film and even started Queen films to have a place on the production team.

Robert Pattinson’s Nude Details Photos and NSFW Video

robert-pattinson-covers-details-march-2010

Details Magazine scored an interview with the Keeper of the Unicorn Field. Robert Pattinson hasn’t had a moment of rest in between filming the ‘Twilight’ saga, participating in several other films (Bel Ami, Remember Me), press events, junkets, photo shoots and endless interviews discussing every angle of his life.

“Seriously, you eventually realize you can’t make every single decision. I was always building, always protecting something. At the same time, I seemed to be losing the ability to move. I’d protected myself into checkmate. Even mentally.” In that moment, he has a realization: “I can barely remember the last two years. Not like a haze of partying or anything like that. Just . . . it’s been crazy.”

[Robert Pattinson Nude, NSFW Video for Details Magazine]

Being stalked on a daily basis has grown monotonous. Pattinson jokes about the crazy fans and has been forced to find the humor in having a target on his back.

“I find it really funny—if I got shot, I would literally be in hysterics. I would be like, ‘Are you serious? Jesus Christ, get Zac Efron! He’s got more social relevance than I do.’”

The photo spread accompanying the interview (seen below) was difficult for Sparklepants. Two naked women simply made him uncomfortable during the NSFW Robert Pattinson photo shoot.

“I really hate vaginas. I’m allergic to vagina. But I can’t say I had no idea, because it was a 12-hour shoot, so you kind of get the picture that these women are going to stay naked after, like, five or six hours. But I wasn’t exactly prepared. I had no idea what to say to these girls. Thank God I was hungover.”
