It is a sad day morning. Patrick Swayze died Monday after battling with pancreatic cancer for just over a year. The “Dirty Dancing” star revealed in March of 2008 that he was diagnosed with the deadly form of cancer. Despite being very ill, he continued working on his latest project for A&E called “The Beast.” It ran for 13 episodes before the network opted not to renew for a second season. Later he would go on to tell Barbara Walters he was hoping to live at least 5 more years, but would realistically get two. Sadly, at the tender age of 57, he passed away surrounded by loved ones.

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf.”

Personally one of my favorite films he brought life to was “To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar.” He will always be my Ms. Vita Boheme.

Celebrities have also jumped on Twitter to talk about the loss of this great actor.

– Gary Busey

• “RIP Patrick. You were a great talent. And more importantly … a true gentleman.”
– Alyssa Milano

Patrick Swayze Dies

patrick-swayze-dead

It is with a heavy heart that we announce to you that Patrick Swayze has died. The beloved actor was only 57 years old.

The ‘Dirty Dancing’ star (I heart you to this day Johnny Castle!) lost his long battle with pancreatic cancer this morning.

Via TMZ:

“His publicist says he died with his family at his side.He was the star of such movies as ‘Ghost,’ ‘Dirty Dancing,’ and ‘Road House.’ Swayze was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1991.”

In honor of Mr. Swayze’s incredible resume, please leave word as to what role was your favorite. I’m torn between Johnny from ‘Dirty Dancing’ and my undying love for ‘The Outsiders’ and his role as Darry Curtis.

He will be missed.

Patrick Swayze Died – RUMORS

So a slowly growing rumor that Patrick Swayze has died is making it’s way through the net. Don’t believe everything you read. He is still alive, but in the hospital.

Just after doing an interview with Barbara Walters, he entered the hospital suffering from pneumonia. It is rumored to be from chemotherapy. He was do to attend the Television Critics Association but his health started to deteriorate.

“Patrick is undergoing treatment and he’s still fighting,” a source close to the star tells PEOPLE. “He felt so bad that he couldn’t be at the TCAs. He’s fighting and doing well, and that’s all anybody can hope for at this stage. He is not at death’s door. Nobody ever knows with cancer, but he’s doing alright. As soon as he’s out, he’s going to try to reschedule as much as he can.”

Send out your prayers for Miss Vida Boheme.
