Robert Pattinson Shops for Action Film, Jackson Rathbone is Kid Friendly

Could Robert Pattinson be switching it up a bit – going from playing the heartthrob in movies to becoming to next big action star? Seems that way, as his ‘people’ are busy trying line up at least one top notch action flick for him to take on this year.

Per Examiner:

With all the rumors (and bogus ones at that) about Robert Pattinson possibly becoming the next James Bond or even starring in the upcoming fourth Spider-Man film, it seems there is definite interest within the Hollywood community to see Robert Pattinson take an action role.

While seeing Pattinson in the role of Bond? James Bond, 007, you know who I mean, would be interesting and quite the jump for his career, don’t look for it to happen anytime soon. During the London premiere of his movie “Remember Me,” Pattinson revealed that he’d entertain the role of James Bond if offered but also admitted that he isn’t very athletic and is “not good at running.” He also reminded the everybody that if the role of James Bond was offered, it wouldn’t be anytime soon saying, “Maybe in a few years.” With predecessors like Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery, and Daniel Craig, Pattinson would be a much younger James Bond but maybe they can revamp the movies like they are doing with the “Spiderman” movies. Speaking of which – As for the rumor that’s been going around that he could replace Tobey Maguire donning the Spidey costume in the reboot, Pattinson says it’s totally not true, although it’s the kind of thing he’d love to do because he likes the idea of “doing an action movie where you can never see your face, cause you don’t have to go to the gym and you don’t have to do any of your stunts and stuff.” However, don’t worry about Pattinsons’ career – his movie “Remember Me” was just released and is receiving high praises from fans despite the critics harsh reviews, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” is out in June, and he is currently filming “Bel Ami.” He is considered as hot property in Hollywood these days, so the Bond franchise would be lucky to have him!

Meanwhile, the other lesser talked about Cullen brother, Jackson Rathbone will be at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards tomorrow night with his co-star Nicola Peltz in support of their upcoming film “The Last Airbender.” Above is a promo spot for the awards show, featuring Jackson and Nicola.

Exclusive Interview with Emrhys Cooper: Big Move, Bigger Movies and Competing Against Robert Pattinson

Emrhys Cooper

Emrhys Cooper. Say it with my kittens: Em-Riss. Remember this name. You may not know him now, but in a little while, you will come to this site and read my “I told you so” post.

As you can see from his pictures, Emrhys is top-notch eye candy. But lassies, that’s not all he is. When he opens that adorable mouth of his, a British accent comes flowing out. You know the kind? The kind that makes you giggle every time he says, “straight away” and “mum”. Yes. That kind.

Luckily for you I scored an interview with one of my new favorite people and got down and dirty with him…OK, maybe not too dirty; just a little scuffed.

From the little town of Devon, England, Emrhys was born into a creative family. His father, an actor turned drama teacher and his mother, a former dancer who became an artist didn’t, believe it or not, push their son into showbiz. Instead, it was his sister’s dance instructor that gave him the bug when he was around six years old.

“My mum couldn’t afford a babysitter, so she would take me to my sister’s dance classes. One day, the teacher said, ‘Why don’t you join in?’ so I did. And that’s when it started. Since then, I’ve never wanted to do anything else.”

Oh, did I forget to mention that Emrhys is an incredible dancer?

Oh, la-la…I digress.

About a year ago Emrhys took the biggest step in his career and made the move from London to Los Angeles where he admits, he knew only his manager.

“It was a bit of a culture shock…It was like I had a new life. I had to get an apartment, a car, an American license.”

And though he admits that the move was both scary and tough at times, he managed to assimilate and even make some new friends thanks to acting classes and public appearances.

Yet when I tried to squeeze any juicy gossip about his celebrity friends out of him, he remained quite humble. When I asked about his experience making “Mama Mia” with big names like Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, he described the movie as, “The best job I’ve ever done.” He described Streep as being “…a nice, warm lady who was at ease straight away.” But he did admit, with a little chuckle I might add, that he was a little star struck meeting former ‘James Bond,’ Pierce Brosnan:

“I nearly called him Mr. Bond! Thankfully , I didn’t.”

When I asked him what other actors he admires, he hit the Hollywood tri-fecta listing Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Jude Law as his favorites. He also admitted that he is often compared to Jude Law which he views as an honor. Yet I couldn’t help but compare him to another young British actor who currently has the world in a frenzy: Robert Pattinson.

“His mum and my mum are actually friends!” He told me while laughing. “He was one of my competitors [for acting jobs] in the UK. We both tried out for the part in ‘Harry Potter’ (i.e. Cedric Doggory) which he got. I am quite proud of him, actually.”

When I asked him if he is ready to achieve the current level of fame being enjoyed (or annoyed) by Pattinson, Cooper credited his parents with providing him with a good upbringing and his knowledge of self to keep him grounded. He merely laughed when I told him that no man would mind women throwing themselves at them.

Cooper is currently working on the film “Moon Over Malcolm”. In it, he plays an American stuck in a virtual town that no one leaves. There, his character discovers himself. He describes the film as a fantasy flick and is excited to use the American accent he has been working hard to perfect (oh, and he used it for me-it was spot on, though not nearly as sexy as his native accent).

Emrhys spent 2 1/2 years working on The West End in London and has aspirations to someday return to musical theater. In the meantime, Cooper will return to London for two weeks after “Moon Over Malcolm” wraps to do a show and spend time with his family before returning to LA.

In the meantime, you can check him out at his official website: http://www.emrhyscooper.com But keep the drooling away from all electronic devices.

Sidebar: I really want to thank Emrhys Cooper for the interview. He was incredibly polite and, before answering any questions, asked me about the health of our dear Dame Cara, who was under-the-weather.

Top 5 Hottest Irish Actors

In celebration of St. Patrick’s day I will no doubt be feasting on bangers and mash at my favorite Irish pub tonight and indulging in green beer. However, I’d thought I’d recognize those Irish actors who make ladies’ hearts go pitter-patter and some just happen to be on my “Things-To-Do-before-I-Die” list. This is simply gratuitous really. So enjoy!

5 -Most infamous would probably be Pierce Brosnan. He was born County Meath, Ireland, but he was raised in London after moving from his Irish digs at the age of 11. Pierce is most notable for his James Bond roles. He played the spy in 4 of the films before passing the role on.

4- Liam Neeson is object of my mother’s affection. (Sorry dad.) We have a family joke that he is secretly my father. (Again, sorry dad.) His good-guy persona conveys a sexy and mellow vibe. His films range from the romantic comedy, “Love Actually” to the recent thriller “Taken.”

3 – Cillian Murphy just oozes sex appeal. He is stunningly ‘pretty’ for man. You might recognize this sizzling Irishman from the scary stalker in “Red Eye.” His eyes could probably melt that panties off women (and some men).

2- Colin Farrell is notoriously a bad boy. He packs sexy in with a hot accent wrapped in naughty rebel. He was born in Dublin and graced the screen in a flick called “Tigerland.” The film launched him into the ranks of Hollywood’s hottest.

1- Jonathan Rhys Meyers is currently my number one conquest. He’s the type of guy who his a bad boy with a heart of gold. Meyers was also born in Dublin and thrown into stardom after appearing in an indie film called “Velvet Goldmine.” He looks like the type who would teach you a thing or two.
