New Music Friday – Official Hot Mess

Aspiring to nothing more than a good, old-fashioned rock & roll party, Official Hot Mess won considerable media attention and a cult following after scoring their first record deal before even graduating high school. O.H.M seems unstoppable as they keep evoking people’s amazement since the fantastic outcome of their debut album, which went to the top of the charts throughout Asia, Australia, and parts of Europe.

The female fronted pop/rock band delivers captivating melodies, enchanting harmonies, and controversial lyrics… “Think The Bangles or Blondie with a little dose of Sarah Silverman-style sarcasm and you’ve got Official Hot Mess”… which lead to their current, original music being featured on MTV’s “The Hills”, “The City”, “My Super Sweet 16”, “The Jersey Shore” and multiple Nickelodeon shows, to name a few. Kristy and Lindsey, the frontwomen of O.H.M, are two fun loving sisters aspiring to make the music they love, and enjoy the crazy ride together; yet they also strive to create their own musical identity for other artists in years to come to follow the path of. This goal might seem lofty, but consider the artist: the girls, who at age 4, learned piano by ear, and performed the first song they ever wrote on PBS. By age 13, they had written their first original pop/rock song. At 14, they formed their first band and played venues across Florida. They managed to overcome the taunts and jeers of their classmates (at their public high school for the academically and musically gifted), who couldn’t see past SAT Scores and Ivy League entrance exams. Hence, their bratty high school delinquent image–which is clearly indebted as their songs concern themselves with mostly boys, parties, their perception of the superficial LA lifestyle, and the over dramatic antics of the “popular girls”.

The multi-talented singer-songwriters have a flair for theatrics with a budding career in film and television as well. Over the course of the next few years, Official Hot Mess will become frequent fixtures in music, film, and television as they move up the entertainment mainstream ladder and begin production on a VH1 television show.

Official Hot Mess has shared the stage with The Bangles, Disney Channel’s Mitchell Musso, We The Kings, Plies, Kevin Rudolf, Bubba Sparxxx and Ja Rule to name a few. Official Hot Mess played the Halloween Extravaganza at the Playboy Mansion and Superbowl Sunday at the Playboy mansion. Official Hot Mess just coheadlined with Lil’ Kim at Stars and Stripes 2010 (a charity event benefiting The Wounded Warrior Project).

MTV and MTVU just premiered Official Hot Mess’ music video for their song, “Welcome 2 LA” — “Official Hot Mess infuses a wily wit into pop rock anthems like their latest single, “Welcome 2 LA.” The track snaps from a sunny melody into a sharply smart refrain that’s as catchy as it as calculated. A sly double entendre can sneak into a danceable groove, and that makes Official Hot Mess officially deeper than most of their peers in the pop landscape.” The video features cameo appearances by Flavor Flav and Adrianne Curry, it reached the #2 spot on MTVU. It is currently airing on Fuse and will be featured on E! News. The music video has been featured in YouTubes’ “Rising Videos”. They have played on Fox news multiple times, CNN’s “The Morning Show”, “Good Day Atlanta”, and the nationally syndicated CW television show, “The Daily Buzz”.

I had the chance to speak with the girls of O.H.M. about their music, upcoming reality show, and their goals. You can read about that below.

When did you first realize you had an interest in music and what sparked that interest?

Kristy: Well we began creating music for enjoyment and as a hobby when we were little kids, and we wrote our first song when I was around five years old. It’s always been a passion for us. Blondie, Heart, Cindy Lauper – they’ve all been huge inspirations for us.

Lindsay: There really was no specific time we decided to make music. It’s always been in our hearts since we were infants.

What drives and inspires you to do what you love?

Kristy: That’s a tough question. I think we’re inspired by anything and everything that happens to us, from being in love to being rejected in the music industry. We write about everything. It’s very therapeutic for us.

Lindsay: We’re very thankful to have this chance and opportunity and I think that’s something that inspires us.

If you had the chance to work or record with anyone, who would you choose?

Kristy: I’d love to work with Jack White.

Lindsay: I’d have to say Will.I.Am. Working with both of them at the same time would be pretty cool.

How would you describe the sound of your music?

Lindsay: I think elements from all genres of music incorporate into our own style.

Kristy: Like our next single ‘Money Makes The Girl$ Go Round’ has it’s own sound. It has a little bit of humor with a rock feel and it makes it it’s own.

How do you feel that you’re different from other artists in your genre?

Kristy: I think it’s strange for us because people see us as a two blond ditzy bimbo singing rock act and they are surprised to see that we have a lot of musical experience.

Lindsay: we’re influenced by a lot of classic rock artists and I believe you can tell that through our songs.

What are some of your short-term and long-term goals you have lined out for yourself?

Kristy: We’re getting ready to premiere our new music video for ‘Money Makes The Girl$ Go Round’ at the end of January and it’s awesome.

Lindsay: We’re working on a reality series and we just finished up a feature film. Also, working with organizations such as The Wounded Warrior Project and PETA that are close to our hearts.

You recently began shooting a reality show – Can you tell us some about that?

Lindsay: We are currently working on a reality show for a major network and we’re really excited. It’s a different kind of reality show – it’s organic and natural. It will give people a behind the scenes look at O.H.M.

Kristy: We’re excited for fans to see what goes on with O.H.M.

What are some of your upcoming plans for promoting your music and/or reality show?

Lindsay: We’ll be playing with Sean Kingston in January and doing a lot of press for our new video, and also doing a lot of shows.

Kristy: That’s our favorite part of all this – going out and playing, being able to share our music with our fans.

Kendra Wilkinson’s Sex Tape – Interview, PICS and VIDEO

If you want a case of the giggles and eye rolls, watch Kendra Wilkinson’s Sex Tape Interview with Ryan Seacrest.

Kendra put her dollar sign eyes away and slapped on a sad face while she claimed that her sex tape was an intimate moment caught on video and wishes it would have never seen the light of day. Me too Kendra.

“I’m a very open person, very honest about my life, but a sex tape is definitely not what I wanted in my life,” she said. “I made love to my boyfriend at the time, we just happened to videotape it. It wasn’t for anybody else’s eyes to see but ours.”

Ok. Ho got $680,000 for the tape and also gets 50% of the sales AFTER SHE SIGNED OFF ON IT. Vivid is selling it and they have claimed the advance sales alone have made it their highest selling sex tape. That is not counting all these interviews and magazine covers she is nabbing. I am pretty sure a sex tape in which the dude resembles Sloth from Goonies and WEARS SOCKS while they make their (un)sexy times is nothing compared to the sticky-icky she participate in at the Playboy mansion.

Currently the cover US is running her story with the words “MY SEX TAPE NIGHTMARE” emblazoned on it. We have all done stupid shiz like this and I will be the first to admit my moral compass doesn’t usually point north, but the real nightmare here should be the fact she put out to a guy who seduces women with a panther blanket on his bed.

Hugh Hefner Kicks Shannon Twins Out Of Playboy Mansion

It seems Hugh Hefner’s Viagra prescription is on back-order.

hugh-hefner-and-twins

To suffice, Hefner announced via his Twitter account that the Shannon Twins, 20 year-old sisters Karissa and Kristina, are moving out of his ho-home (i.e The Playboy Mansion).

Via The Huffington Post:

“The Shannon Twins are growing up. They’re moving to the Playmate House with my blessing so they will be free to do other things.”

By “do other things” Hef likely means they will have to find another grandpa with a cheerleader complex to do their ho-stroll for.

Kendra Wilkinson is Pregnant

kendra-wilkinson-on-a-stripper-pole

Oh this worries me. Kendra Wilkinson and her fiancé Hank Baskett are going to have a baby. Kendra will be responsible for tiny human being. This was a woman who was outwitted by the U.S. postal services after not knowing she needed to put stamps on letters. Regardless, in clearly rep written statement, Kendra announced that she is pregnant.

Per E!:

“Hank and I are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our first child together,” she just told me. “We are touched by the outpouring of support by our family, friends and fans.”

Baskett and Wilkinson are going to be exchanging vows before Kendra gives birth. In fact the two are due marry on June 27th at the Playboy mansion. Ex “boyfriend,” Hugh Hefner, is rumored to be walking her down the aisle to the tune of “Dirrty” by Christina Aguilera. Ok..ok..ok I am joking. Her brother will actually be walking her down the aisle.

Quotables:

The Superficial – “Let’s put this news into more relevant forms based on gender. Guys: Breasts get big. Soon.”

Celebitchy – “Congratulations to Kendra and Hank and I’m sure there are many trips to the Olive Garden planned in their immediate future.”
