Bloom is set to release his EP titled ‘The Budding Rose‘ on March 8th. For his debut album, ‘In Full Bloom,’ due out later this year via Zone 4 and Mosley Music Group, Bloom collaborated with both Polow da Don and Timbaland, marking only the second time the two have collaborated together.
Recently, I had the chance to ask Timothy questions about his music interest, his EP, and his video. You can read about that below.
When did you first realize you had an interest in music and what sparked that interest?
The first time I ever realized I had an interest for music, was when I started playing the drums at the age of 8.
What drives and inspires you to do what you love?
The thing that inspires me to do what I love, is waking up knowing that I have another chance to do it all over again.
Do you find it easy to sing and perform? Does it come naturally for you?
I love singing and performing. I do it all the time in the comfort of my home, in grocery stores in front of people… I love it. It definitely comes natural.
What track from the EP do you enjoy performing live the most?
I love performing them all. They all have a different effect to the next song.
Besides music, what are some of your favorite things to do?
My favorite thing to do besides music is being a father.
If you had the chance to work or record with anyone, who would you choose?
I would want to work with everybody.
Can you tell us more about working with V. Bozeman on “Til the End of Time” and how that collaboration came about?
Working with V is AMAZING she has a great spirit. And how Til the End of Time came about was last year, I was in a dark space in my life and that day I wanted to break free from that prison that I was in and took all that negative energy and made a positive song. After that moment I felt free. V was there with me at that moment.
How long did it take to shoot the video and was it difficult being naked in front of so many people for such a long time? Did you or V. have any hesitation about being naked in the video?
It was a 12 hour shoot and at first it was difficult. I was really nervous and on the way to the shoot I was like what am I getting myself into? But after a couple of glasses of wine, it was cool.
How would you describe the sound of your music?
My sound is just an infusion of all my influences.
What can fans expect to hear on the full album?
Expect nothing but love. All I want to do is love.
How do you feel that you’re different from other artists in your genre?
I don’t feel like I’m different. I’m just going to come with a different approach.
What are some of your short-term and long-term goals you have lined out for yourself?
The only goals that I have right now is living day by day.
