According to Entertainment Weekly, this year The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien had its lowest November ratings in 15 years, losing 52% of its viewership as opposed to last year since O’Brien took over for Jay Leno. Could NBC possibly be changing it up if the ratings continue to fall? Apparently so, as rumors are circulating that NBC is reportedly looking for a replacement, beginning informal talks to find a new late night funny man for the time slot.
Per Popeater:
“NBC just can’t carry on like this. ‘The Tonight Show’ has lost 52 percent of its viewership in just one year. The November ratings will be the show’s lowest in 15 years. They would be idiots to not be having the replacement conversation,” a source tells me.
Insiders are saying the one man on top of everyone’s wish list is Jerry Seinfeld. However, getting him to commit is another thing, and that seems to be a longshot. Conan’s people are vehemently denying the speculation.
“Completely false. There are no conversations happening. Conan is the host of the ‘Tonight Show.”
Sounds to me like someones in denial.
