Reese Witherspoon Weds Jim Toth

Reese Witherspoon married her agent, Jim Toth, on Saturday. The two wed at Reese’s ranch estate in Ojai, California. A rep for Witherspoon confirmed to People the happy news.

The “Legally Blonde” starlet walked down the aisle to the traditional tune of “Here Comes the Bride” as the witnesses included Renee Zellweger, Sean Penn who escorted Scarlett Johansson, Tobey Maguire, Robert Downey Jr., Alyssa Milano and her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe. Her two children with Phillippe also took part in the nuptials.

Witherspoon wore a pale pink Monique Lhuillier gown. The ceremony lasted around 20 minutes and ended with an exchange of wedding bands designed by William Goldberg. The band will sit with her 4 carat Ashocka cut engagement ring also crafted by Goldberg.

Some are curious as to what her most recent ex was up to. Jake Gyllenhaal spent the evening bowling while Reese married Jim. He didn’t seem to be thinking too much about her as he and his friends, which included Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, drank Red Stripe beer and even did a celebratory dance after hitting a spare. He even spent some time making friends with a brunette in the next lane before being joined by Swedish model, Mini Anden. She joined the group at around 1 A.M. Jake coaxed her into bowling a few frames and even gave her a few lessons.

Ryan Reynolds is People’s Sexiest Man Alive

Ryan Reynolds is People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2010. It’s great but I don’t know why I get a “meh” feeling about it. Maybe if was last year’s SMA to more appropriately coincide with his nakedness in “The Proposal” I would have been a bit more giddy at the notion. Regardless, I never would never pass on a six pack followed by a gun show, so huzzah for Ryan and his Bowflex body.

Runners up include:

John Hamm – brooding lead of ‘Mad Men’),
Kellan Lutz – Sparklepire who likes budget motel trysts with his secret girlfriend
Drake – the dude from Degrassi…really
Matthew Morrison – Glee teacher
Jon Bon Jovi – something for the older ladies who like furry hands
Joe Manganiello – True Blood werewolf who is probably sexy if I could just get past the fact that every time I read his name I see Joe ManGina
Robert Downey Jr. – coke does a body good
Jesse Williams – Grey’s Anatomy doc who was also in Rihanna’s video for Russian Roulette – fun fact
Justin Timberlake – yup, beating that horse
Vin Diesel – I had no idea why but I guessed it involved the exchange of money or body fluids. Turns out a Facebook campaign with competition of the Guido Monkey from the Jersey Shore, Enrique Iglesias and Old Spice Guy…crowned him runner up material.
Jake Gyllenhaal – despite the fact he is creeping me out by playing house with country kitten Taylor Swift

Edward Norton Fired as Hulk, Replaced by Mark Ruffalo

The Hulk has some fairly obvious anger issues and, let’s face it, he’s not exactly a team player. The same might be said of Edward Nortonn, who was fired two weeks ago after Marvel released quite the harsh statement saying he would not be returning in “The Avengers.”

Per E!:

“Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members,” said Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige in a statement. “The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert, Chris H., Chris E., Sam, Scarlett, and all of our talented casts. We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks.”

Wow, I’ve never seen a man so elegantly punched in the balls in a press release before. That translates to ‘Norton is just a pain in the arse who wants to run the show. We want an actor that does as he’s effing told no matter how awful the script is.’ Norton was going to be a key player in a cast led by Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and also featuring Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. Jeremy Renner is also on board to play Hawkeye, the headstrong costumed archer. The film could also possibly feature Don Cheadle as War Machine, but a few weeks back Cheadle said he was in a wait-and-see mode on that. But now just who will play the Hulk? Fiege made it a point to say they wouldn’t be casting an unknown – and they didn’t. The job now belongs to Mark Ruffalo!

Per Huffington Post:

“It’s like Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet, a new actor gets a crack at it every year,” Ruffalo told the LA Times. “But really it’s all heady stuff. It’s exciting to be here. It’s great to be a part of all this.”

Ruffalo has proven himself in a wide range of very different roles. As much as I will miss Norton as Hulk, this looks to me like excellent news. I’m willing to give him the chance!

Sherlock Holmes Gay in Guy Ritchie’s Film

In Guy Ritchie’s upcoming film, super sleuth “Sherlock Holmes” will be portrayed as a gay man. Who knew? The fictional character famous for wearing his deerstalker hat, puffing on a pipe and solving mysteries with his trusted sidekick, will be shown sharing a bed with his very close friend Dr. Watson, in addition to some man-on-man wrestling.

Per Queerstalker:

“We’re two men who happen to be room-mates, wrestle a lot and share a bed. It’s badass.” says Robert Downey Jr. who plays Holmes.

“Guy wanted to make this about the relationship between Watson and Holmes. They’re both mean and complicated.” adds Jude Law, who plays Dr. Watson.

Last week he was ordered to re-shoot his “unrealistic” Sherlock Holmes movie. The 40-year-old ex husband of Madonna was reportedly left fuming after Warner Brothers head honchos told him several scenes didn’t reach their expectations. Ritchie has been forced to call back cast, including Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law to remake five weeks worth of footage.

I’m just wondering where the Sherlock Holmes lifestyle choice is coming from. I’ve read quite a few Sherlock stories and never once have I picked up on anything like this. If this is done right, this could be really interesting and might even be Oscar-worthy! Hope you don’t let us down Ritchie!
