This A list movie actress who got her start way back in the day on tv and then did some more along the way, let it slip the other day that she and her always a B list (for one role in particular) movie actor husband have not had sex in almost five years. It is kind of ironic if you think about it. [Crazy Days and Nights]
Forbes has come up with their list of Highest Paid Actresses. Using info from agents, lawyers, producers and their own “insiders,” they came up with a top five that includes the usual A-listers.
Surprisingly enough, Sarah Jessica Parker is at the top of the money heap. She tied with Angelina Jolie with a $30 million payout from May 2010 to May 2011. Most of SJP’s earnings still come from ‘Sex and the City.’ Between the second film and reruns of the show along with her perfumes and her involvement in designing Halston’s clothing…she doesn’t need a slew of blockbusters to keep her in her Manolos. Parker does have two films currently in post production.
Candace Bushnell, author of ‘Sex and the City,’ revealed that a prequel will eventually come to life. It will either be a big screen film or made for tv movie.
Bushnell has just released a novel prequel for the fashion mixed with sex series. ‘The Carrie Diaries’ has been joined by ‘Summer in the City,’ which goes into the adventures of Carrie’s senior year of high school. During the book launch, the topic of more S&TC movies came up and Candace is confident the series won’t stop at just two feature films.
File this one under appreciation for a firm grip of the obvious. Kim Cattrall has confirmed to PopEater that a third installment of S&TC is probably not going to happen.
‘Sex and The City‘ was a huge hit for HBO. It aired for 7 seasons and can now be seen all over your tv in re-runs. The hit show was even made it onto the big screen with two movies. I thought after the second movie that hit theaters last year, they’d throw in the towel since the actresses are getting up there in age and aren’t looking as youthful as they once did. But someone’s trying to squeeze every drop of profit out of the Sex and the City brand because there are rumblings of a 3rd movie in 2012, but Sarah Jessica Parker won’t be part of the cast. Neither will the rest of the original foursome. Instead this SATC movie would be a prequel to the SATC series on HBO. Last June rumors began circulating that SATC writer Candice Bushnell’s prequel ‘The Carrie Diaries‘ was going to be made into a movie. And rumor has it one of the ‘Gossip Girls‘ will be playing the young Carrie Bradshaw – Blake Lively is rumored to be playing the part of the high school aged Bradshaw.
Per MTV:
“There are no plans to bring Sarah Jessica Parker and the others girls back together in the old format. The prequel is about breathing new life into the story and exploring Carrie’s first few months in NYC and the beginning of her relationship with an older man.”
Lively’s rep has denied the rumors, but Blake Lively would be a great choice for the prequel to SATC. Her career has exploded the last few years thanks to Gossip Girl.

Sex and the City 2 held its world premiere last night at none other than famous Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrall, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristen Davis were all in attendance, and, of course, we all decked out in stunning gowns.

With each frame of SATC2 dripping in designer duds, the pressure was on to pick a red-carpet-worthy gown. Parker wore neon yellow Valentino. “This movie took a long time to make,” she said. “I cared about being presentable to that degree. I never want to embarrass my children or my family. It’s always lovely to get to borrow a beautiful dress.” A L’Wren Scott-clad Eve said the pressure to look stunning was huge. “I didn’t sleep at all last night,” she said.
Though I don’t hate the dress, I feel that I have seen SJP looking better. The length is what I think I have issue with.
As for the other ladies? All looked lovely, though I have to say Catrall’s fireworks inspired ensemble was my least fav and Davis’ hair left something to be desired.
However, none held a candle to my man John Corbett who looked especially dazzling. Ooohh, how I missed Aidan!

The promotion for ‘Sex and the City 2′ is about to get underway and Cynthia Nixon looks to be the first lady out of the gate ready to pimp the film.
Nixon, an openly gay woman, made her first stop ‘The Advocate,’ where she gave an in-depth interview and dished on everything from the movie to her partner (Christine Marinoni) for whom she has some interesting words of description.
Via The Advocate:
“She’s like a short man with boobs. A lot of what I love about her is her butchness. I’m not saying I fell in love with her in a sexually neutral way. I love her sexuality — it’s a big part of what I love about her — but I feel like it was her.”
Her sexuality was a struggle as she found that the real love of her life was another woman. Being openly gay is still a bit of a taboo for stars in Hollywood and it was especially risky when she was making the changes in her life.
“Nixon hired a publicist who warned her to stay out of the headlines. Uncomfortable with that route, Nixon soon turned to Kelly Bush, an openly gay publicist. Bush suggested Nixon confirm the rumors, and that is just what she did.
“I was like, ‘Really, we can just confirm?’” Nixon tells The Advocate. “So that’s just what we did. It was so fantastic.”

Here it is SATC fans….
The second trailer for Sex and the City 2 has cometh. This time we get more plot hints and see Aiden. Despite denying any involvement, John Corbett returns. The trailer suggests that “something happens” between Carrie and Aiden as she and the girls take a trip to Abu Dhabi sans husbands, children and work.
Penelope Cruz, Miley Cyrus and Liza Minelli also show up in this extended trailer for the film’s sequel.
For all you Carrie Bradshaw addicts out there, your time is almost up. ‘Sex and the City-2′ is due out in a little more than a month.
But for now, you are going to have to suck the Michael Patrick King teet a little longer. And he’s delivered some interesting tid-bits about the upcoming film. Including the return of the oh-so-hot John Corbett as Carrie’s ex, Aidan.

“He [King] brings back Carrie’s ex. He says he always asks people Mr. Big or Aidan… and they’re both in the movie as Aidan is where the girls go on vacation.”
MTV UK goes on to confirm whether or not Big and Carrie will take on the role of Daddy and Mommy:
“So we move from marriage to the next logical place in people’s minds, is she having a baby? It’s one of the thoughts of the movie. For me, I always like to do something that’s individualistic and unique for Carrie Bradshaw, since she is one of a kind.”

Though the sequel to the first “Sex and the City” movie isn’t due to hit theaters for another four months, a third installment of the adventures of Carrie and Crew is reportedly already being rushed into production. So whats the hurry? Apparently, there are concerns that Sarah Jessica-Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall may look too old if they leave a long gap between filming the follow ups.

To solve this problem, the studio has decided to shoot the second and third installments back to back. “There is also a third movie on the go,” said the paper’s source. “It’s under wraps for publicity reasons.”
Though we still don’t know exactly what will be happening with Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha, and Miranda in the second movie, it seems likely the second movie will keep us wanting to see more! But it does sound like if a third movie is being made, it will be the final one. Parker, Nixon, and David are all in their mid-40s, while Cattrall is 53 years old. I am guessing the title will be something like “Sex and the City 3: Dry Lady Parts Take Manhattan.” I shouldn’t joke about their age. Someday soon the Dame will be reaching these heights and bucking for a raise. So here’s to 40 being the new 20.
