Adam Lambert Trying To Get Song On ‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Soundtrack

adam-lambert

Adam Lambert thinks one of his tunes is perfect for the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” soundtrack with his song “Suburban Decay.” Lambert already had success in with his track “Time for Miracles” that was featured in the film “2012” but now hopes to sink his teeth into the popular vampire franchise.

Per MTV:

“It’s a great song and I hope to perform it someday, and I think it will find a home, on a soundtrack or something … maybe ‘Twilight,’ ” he told MTV News. “It just didn’t quite fit [in my album]. It’s very theatrical. … It’s very campy, and it was just a bit too campy for the album as a big picture. Hey, ‘Eclipse’ … Want my song? It’s kind of about vampires,” he offered, noting a verse about “bloodlust.”

He originally wrote the song for his debut album, but the song was dropped from the final track listing. Although the vibe of the song didn’t go with the rest of his album, Lambert thinks the track would be the perfect accompaniment to the heightening love triangle between Bella, Jacob, and Edward.

Ok, I’m going to have to veto this. Every attention-seeking, glory-grabbing, fame-hungry sensationalist (and their sister) is going to try to do something to become part of this franchise or to monopolize on it. Lambert falls into the above-mentioned category and is not right for the Twilight Saga. No thanks Adam Lambert – I love the “Twilight” and “New Moon” soundtracks, and I want to be able to love “Eclipse’s” too!

Disneys’ “The Princess And The Frog”

Oh this looks fantastic! DisneysThe Princess and the Frog” is an animated family feature film loosely based on E.D. Baker’s novel “The Frog Princess” and the Grimm brothers’ “The Frog Prince.” Set in the French Quarter of New Orleans, a prince named Naveen from the land of Maldonia is transformed into a frog by the evil scheming voodoo magician Dr. Facilier. The frog prince mistakes a girl named Tiana for a princess and has her kiss him to break the spell. While the kiss doesn’t break the spell, it instead turns Tiana into a frog, too. Together, the two of them must reach the good voodoo priestess of the Bayou, Mama Odie, while befriending a trumpet-playing alligator and a hopelessly romantic firefly along the way. The film will open in limited release in New York and Los Angeles on November 25th before expanding into wide release on December 11th.

The film’s soundtrack “The Princess and the Frog: Original Songs and Score” will be released November 23rd. It contains seven instrumental pieces and ten original songs, including the pop theme song “Never Knew I Needed” contributed by Ne-Yo. The music video for the song is directed by Melina and will premiere online in the near future. Four time Grammy Award Winning composer Randy Newman also composed and directed the rest of the songs on the album.

Anika Noni Rose (the voice of Princess Tiana) and Walt Disney Pictures is giving fans an early treat with a sneak peak of the soundtrack to “The Princess and the Frog.” Watch the exclusive featurette above to hear some of the movies’ music and to learn why Princess Tiana’s song will set her apart from past princesses. You can also listen to exclusive snippets from the soundtrack here, then head on over to Amazon to preorder your copy of what will surely be one of the years best movie soundtracks.

There’s no way this won’t be an awesome movie and a beautiful soundtrack. The feeling I get anticipating this film and seeing the warmth put into it is indescribable. This is what Disney is all about.

All good things come to those who wait? Naaaahhhhh. The “New Moon” soundtrack was set to be released next Tuesday, but now it’s become one of the rare albums to have its release date pushed up. Summit Entertainment issued a release saying “due to overwhelming and unprecedented demand,” the soundtrack will come out this Friday!

Adding to the great news, Myspace announced earlier this week that starting yesterday the site will premiere songs from the album on its official New Moon profile, allowing fans to listen to all 15 tracks in their entirety legally. Led by Death Cab for Cutie’s with the official song for the movie titled “Meet Me on the Equinox“, the soundtrack album is made up solely of “original and exclusive” songs. Muse, who contributed to the first movies soundtrack, is making a return with another track titled “I Belong to You (New Moon)“. The line-up also include Thom Yorke, The Killers, and OK Go. Regardless of your level of affection for vampires who sparkle, the album has been getting pretty decent reviews and may be worth paying attention to even if you’re not swept into the whole “Twilight” hysteria. “New Moon” will open on November 20th, giving us fan enough time to reread the book with the soundtrack blaring in the background. Twi-hards, you now have 35 days from today to get this done!

In other related news, the official soundtrack for the first movie in the franchise, “Twilight.” is nominated in the category for favorite soundtrack at this years AMA’s, alongside the soundtracks for “Hannah Montana: The Movie” and “Hannah Montana 3.” If you’ve been living under a rock for the past year, some of the Twilight soundtrack artist include Paramore

with the movies official song “Decode“, Robert Pattinson, and Muse - just to name a few. The awards show will take place on ABC on November 22nd, just two days after The “Twilight Saga: New Moon” movie is released, and voting is still ongoing.

This is one franchise that has no signs of slowing down. “Overwhelming and unprecedented demand” is every movie exec’s dream. So be prepared for a few more years of Robert Pattinson and sparkling vampires. You have been warned.

Madonna Will Not Star In “New Moon”

Phew! All “Twilight” fans and Madonna haters can breathe a big sigh of relief. I haven’t been able to sleep since the Dame posted the story about the possibility of Madonna taking on a role in the “Twilight” sequel “New Moon”, but now I can rest easy-she is out!

Despite the extensive rumors circulating the internet that Madonna wanted a part in the film and was using her manager and “New Moon” producer, Guy Oseary to get one, a source close to Summit Entertainment (exactly how does someone become a “source”, I wonder?) has set the record straight to Entertainment Weekly.

Via EW.com:

“Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the movie series, has no plans to cast the pop star and sometime actor in “New Moon”. However, because Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, is a producer on the project, there is some talk of her providing songs for the sequel.”

Personally, I don’t want her or her 4-foot vagina anywhere near the film. I can already envision some grainy music video she’ll release starring her and a greased-up Robert Pattison. Wait, I think that was just my dream last night.

Not to worry about that either. The “source” also stated that talks to have Madonna on the soundtrack are still in the “…that’d be cool” stage. Apparently this “source” and I have very different definitions of the word cool. You know what I think is cool? Not having to see that old hag in “New Moon”. That’s what’s cool.
