‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ Screening Info

I continue to squee as more Harry Potter film news bleeds onto the net. A screening for the first installment of the last Harry Potter film took place in Chicago. Details were shared by a gracious and obscenely lucky Potter fan. (Click HERE for HP7 movie stills…)

SPOILER ALERT

The movie goer reported that the actors “give their best performances to date; practically disappearing into their characters.” The film seems to give more details on how Ron, Harry and Hermione prepare for the journey ahead as the film starts Rufus Scrimgeour promising the wizarding world to do it’s best to survive the return of Voldemort.

The scene I have been hungry to see shows members of the Order of the Phoenix transform into Harry Potters to throw off the looming Death Eaters who are awaiting to ambush Harry as he leaves the safety of the Dursley’s home. The report sounds fantastic!

Via The Leaky Cauldron:

“ The Seven Potters scene was nearly complete in this cut. The transformation takes place in a single 360 degree camera shot, with each character transforming into Harry in their own unique way. Fred and George shrink about a foot, Mundungus grows about a foot, and Fleur gets Harry’s eyebrows as the first thing on her body to change. When the Seven Potters are waking around the room in their original character’s clothes, they are distinguished by their original voices and mannerisms. They then strip to change into Harry’s outfit. The production went all out here- even having Fluer’s Harry take off a white, lacy bra in order to change clothes. Once in the air, we see the Death Eaters dive on the Order like bats, swooping in casting spells and curses. Death Eaters take Harry and Hagrid on a chase down the highway, diving in between cars, and even doing a flip around a tunnel ceiling.”

The first death in this film takes place here as Harry, contrary to the book, lets Hedwig fly free. She returns to Harry in effort to help protect him and is hit with the Avada Kedavra curse which signals the real Harry to Voldemort and the first run in ensues.

The Weasly house is fully reconstructed which was another question that had I burning after the Half Blood Prince left it destroyed and in flames. Scrimgeour returns to read the will of Dumbledore. This is where Ginny and Harry share a brief kiss before being interrupted by George and his bandage ear. (He lost it during the Death Eater chase in case you weren’t up to date on the book.) Another battle ensues as Kinsley’s patronus appears and announces Rufus’ death and the Ministry being taken by Voldemort and his crew. Ron, Harry and Hermione escape as Lupin shows up to give the trio cover as they try to make it to Grimmauld place.

Dobby FINALLY returns! His character, in my opinion was far more important that directors assumed. I am glad to see his return. The reporter stated that the test audience cheered upon his arrival back on the screen.

“ The crowd cheered when Dobby appeared on screen, and was further endeared at the elf when he and Krecher vie for Harry’s attention. Mundungs’ information leads them to infiltrate the Ministry, which also is presented just as it was in the books. Umbridge, portrayed by Imelda Staunton, gets to recapture her former sinister self presiding over a courtroom with a swirl of Dememntors revolving overhead. The Ministry now seems to be operation to create forms of propaganda against Muggles, which are being produced in mass quantities (When Muggles Attack). They’ve also replaced the former statue in the atrium with a new totalitarian-themed creation, which is made up of jumble of twisted Muggles holding up wizards on a pedestal. “Muggles in their rightful place,” says Hermione.”

They continue through the ministry and make to Umbridge’s office. Moody’s eye is in the door to her office, but the reporter stated that it wasn’t clear whether or not Harry recovers it or not.

Remember those reports that Harry and Hermione get naked and played slap and tickle? Well, it appears to be TRUE. The lucky sneak preview reporter stated that camping scene involving the Horcrux features some odd twists…

“This part of the film shows the progression of Ron’s jealousy of Harry and Hermione’s friendship, spurred on by wearing the Horcrux. Rupert Grint plays this very well, storming out of the tent and into the winter, leaving Harry and Hermione unsure of how to go on. Following his exit, a scene not in the books remains one of the most touching and poignant: In an effort to cheer up a sullen Hermione, Harry removes the Horcrux from his neck, and shares an awkward high school prom-style dance with Hermione to the Nick Cave song, “O’Children.”

This awkwardness is then halted as Harry and Hermione go to Godric’s Hollow where they find Lily and James’ gravesite and Bathilda’s house. There is a run in with Voldemort’s snake, Nagini, which leaves Harry unconscious in the Forest of Dean with Hermione for several days. The scene was incomplete as CGI wasn’t finished.

Soon, Ron returns to save Harry and the nakedness rumored before ensues…

“This leads into, perhaps, the most thrilling and emotional part of the film: the Silver Doe. Rupert Grint’s performance is spectacular as he makes his return, pulling Harry from underneath the icy depths and destroying the Horcrux. After Harry opens the locket, a tornado of Voldemort’s dark soul rises above Ron, unleashing spiders on the ground and taunting him. In a very sensual turn, silvery porcelain visions of Riddle-Harry and Riddle-Hermione appear in the tornado and taunt Ron’s jealousy by sharing a long and intense kiss. In an effort not to truly represent the evil of Voldemort and the situation, the Riddle-Harry and Riddle-Hermione, in the swirling mass of the tornado, appear topless during the final seconds of their kiss before Ron swings Gryffindor’s sword down on the locket, destroying it.”

Harry, Ron and Hermione are reunited the final leg of this part of the final film comes to a close. They are captured and imprisoned at Malfoy Manor after more information is revealed as a 3 minute story of the three brothers and the Elder Wand rolls. Another stray from the book features Wormtail only being stunned and not killed by his the silver hand that Voldemort gave him. Dobby saves the trio after Bellatrix tortures Hermione and we are left with watching the Dark Lord break into Dumbledore’s tomb.

“Wormtail aside, Emma Watson’s shrieking as Bella’s character tortures her own (Bellatrix brands “mudblood” onto Hermione’s arm) still gives me chills. Bellatrix continues to be in top form when she uses her wand as a whip to take the sword from the low-rank Snatchers who captured the Trio. The Malfoy’s also get to show their complete desperation, with Lucius, drink in hand, talking a defeated Draco into identify Harry. Throughout this sequence the suspense builds until that final moment when the dagger is thrown by Bella and disapparates along with Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Dobby to Shell Cottage.

Hands down, one of the most emotional sequences of this film was Dobby dying in Harry’s arms on she shores of Shell Cottage. The burial of Dobby takes place on a bluff overlooking the sea. Harry digs the grave himself, and places the small House Elf in his resting place with Ron and Hermione. The final scene in the movie takes place at Hogwarts, on a small island just off the banks of the lake. Dumbledore’s tomb is cracked open by Voldemort, who looks into the blank face of Dumbledore before taking the wand from his grasp and firing a lightning bolt into the air.”

Yes, this is where the first of the two part film will end leaving Potter fans amped up for the second half of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Currently the process of putting together the last film is in the beginning stages.

Are you ready? Accio November 19th!!!

Completely ‘Lost’: Exclusive Update and HUGE Spoilers

lost

SPOILER ALERT!!!!! If you do not wish to know some juicy ‘Lost’ tid-bits then STOP READING NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hooked you didn’t I? You don’t want to read this. You want to be ‘surprised.’ But you can’t take it anymore, can you? It’s the final season of ‘Lost’ and you want answers faster than Carleton Cuse and Damon Lideloff and willing to give them.

Me too!!!

Spoiler #1: Hold onto your tank-top….Michelle Rodriguez is coming back. Michael Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly announced this morning that Rodriguez will reprise her role as the shot-dead-in-the-hatch Ana Lucia. Gross.

We haven’t seen Rodriguez (who was killed at the end of Season 2) since she appeared to Hurley in Season 5. It was a glorious time off, no? Really. I can’t stand her. She’s totally the reason I refuse to see “Avatar.”

Spoiler #2: Though I cannot reveal my source (hello, ‘Shadow S’), I can reveal EXCLUSIVELY that we are going to see a backstory to Jacob and the Man-In-Black (MIB). ‘West Wing’ alum Allison Janney, will appear as Jacob and MIB’s ‘mother.’

My source revealed that we will see “fashbacks” to the year 23 AD when Jacob and MIB are children. Janney, who it seems is not technically either’s mother, takes the children to the island for safety reasons.

We also will see a flash of our Yin and Yang as adults in the year 42 AD (these numbers ring a bell, no?).

My source alluded that we will see what happens between Jacob and MIB that turn them from best of friends to (im)mortal enemies.

lost1

SPOILER #3: The same source revealed to me EXCLUSIVELY that the boy we saw UnLocke chasing through the jungle (remember, the super creepy one with blood all over his hands?) is in fact young Jacob. However, it is not known why he appeared as a child (other than to establish the character for flashback purposes).

Unfortunately, my source could not reveal when these episodes will actually appear. We have only 10 episodes left before our finale May 23.

In the meantime, are you reading my weekly ‘Lost’ write-ups? If not, catch up on the last two episodes by clicking here for ‘The Lighthouse’ and here for ‘Sundown’.

‘New Moon’ 10 New Spoilers With Pictures!

taylor-lautner-jacob-black-shirtless-2

Oh my I think I’ve just gone to heaven!! With 44 days & some-odd hours and counting til the “Twilight Series: New Moon” movie hits theaters, we’re now starting to find out a few more juicy tidbits about the upcoming film, along with a ton of up-until-now unreleased photographs hitting the net. These amazing pictures come from the recently released “New Moon Illustrated Companion,” and with around 95 or so photographs, they are hot enough to keep you occupied until November 20th. (You can see all the photographs released here.)

Some spoilers are making the rounds too, and they are sure to make Twi-hards even more excited about the upcoming movie. While none of them are considered ‘major’ spoilers, I do suggest you stop reading now and just gaze at the photographs for hours on end if you don’t want to be spoiled at all. If you’re curious like me and you cannot wait until November, then continue reading below!

Spoiler #1: When screenplay writer Melissa Rosenberg was writing the scripts, she tried to keep the fan base out of her head, but she couldn’t avoid it by the time of New Moon. She gave the men in Port Angeles motorcycles to make it a more “significant moment” and because motorcycles will become “an important part of her relationship with Jacob”.

Spoiler #2: While filming the breakup scene in the forest Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were being swarmed by mosquitos. In all the “vision” sequences Edward is wearing the same outfit he does when he said goodbye to Bella because that is the last memory she holds of him. As a sign that Bella is committed to Edward, her clothes are linked to his color wise. After he leaves she doesn’t pay much attention to her appearance.

Spoiler #3: The Cullen house used for “Twilight” was “a very specific house, and the only way out of that puzzle for us was to put portions of the story of New Moon in other parts of the house”. They scouted many locations for the Cullen house, but found one that was comparable enough with the house in Portland.

Spoiler #4: Robert quote: “The birthday scene at the Cullen house is like the ideal birthday party. The house is beautifully decorated and everyone is happy. Edward is looking at Bella and thinking that she can become part of his family and his life–that maybe this can work out the way he wants it to.” The sequence for the birthday party – Edward relates the history of the Volturi to Bella, she becomes wounded in the hand, and Edward faces off against Jasper.

Spoiler #5: They used the Blue Ray DVD of Twilight to help them with the age, color, texture and features of Bella’s house and room. They used the “Twilight Illustrated Companion” for help finding Bella’s truck.

Spoiler #6: Even the cameras used and their movements are done to show the relationship between the characters. One special challenge for the production team was how to convey Bella’s depression once Edward departs. In the books, the month pages do it (October, November, December, January.) In the film the passage of time is represented with visual effects. Bella sits in her chair in the bedroom and a camera circles around here while the seasons change outside her window.

Spoiler #7: Another shot manipulation, instead of Bella running to her truck and driving home after seeing the wolves in the meadow, she runs out of the woods and tells Charlie immediately that she saw them. The changes were made to make the scene more efficient.

Spoiler #8: When they are rebuilding the bikes there is a montage of scenes.

Spoiler #9: They wanted Jacob’s house to be “like a stepping stone into the forest world”. So it’s further from the heart of the reservation. Emily and Sam’s house is deeper in the forest, more separate from regular life.

Spoiler #10: Added to the movie, Jacob gives Bella a dreamcatcher. It stirs up emotions in all the major characters: Jacob says it will catch bad dreams. Edward is irritated that his rival gave Bella an intimate gift, and Charlie regrets that it stops working.

Ok, so there you have it Twi-hards! 10 Spoilers to keep you in limbo until the movie comes out. The passage of time in the book was very simple yet powerful. I like their approach to it for the movie. I got chills!

Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) to Get Married in ‘Sex and the City’ Sequel -Photos

Kim Cattrall

This is an obvious spoiler alert so only keep reading if you want to know the details.
Thus far major spoilers for the next installment of “Sex and the City” have hit the net already. The film is in the early stages filming and we already have the basic plot. According to Us magazine these are the highlights:

~Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mr. Big (Chris Noth) are forced to move in with Charlotte and family after Big loses a huge chunk of his wealth.

~Meanwhile, Charlotte (played by Kristin Davis) somehow comes under the impression that her husband is cheating on her. In reality he is building her a dream house. (I believe this same scenario has been done in every sitcom since 1992. Snooze.)

~Miranda Hobbs (Cynthai Nixon) quits her career as an attorney to open a restaurant with her husband, Steve.

~The most interesting detail in the spoilers say that Stanford Blatch and Anthony Marentino will get married. The hilarious scene will also include a serenade by Liza Minelli.

New reports as to Samantha Jones’ role in the movie suggest she will be getting married. After Cattrall was spotted carrying around a script (click here to see Kim Cattrall airing out the S&TC script), a few pages were photographed and read. If the script is correct, Samantha will be taking testosterone in efforts to get pregnant and Smith Jerrod (Jason Lewis) will return. On Friday Kim was on set in a wedding dress and refused to comment on her character’s situation. So it is being assumed that her character is getting married.

If you recall the same wedding dress issue happened while making the first film version of “Sex and the City.” Sarah Jessica Parker was photographed wearing a wedding gown and rumors began that the scene was just a dream sequence began. In this case I would deem it a nightmare sequence in the eyes Samantha Jones.

With the return of Jerrod, baby rumors and now these photos of Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones in a wedding dress, I think it is safe to say she will be getting married. What do you think?

Completely ‘Lost’ Recap: ‘The Incident’ (Season Finale)

Seriously. I don’t even know where to begin. “The Incident” delivered some answers, and, in true “Lost” style, created about 100 new questions that at this point in time I believe will never be answered. Right? Who is with me? They will never answer all the questions they have created. But, I will get to that later.

What “Lost” also did this week was give me a major headache. Last week, I talked about vintage “Lost”; the kinds of episodes that have everyone at work talking the next day and not doing a damn thing work related. This week went beyond that. At approximately 5:30 AM this morning, my husband woke me up shouting theories about ghosts and Jesus. This is not what I want to do at 5:30 AM. Or is it?

Perhaps this is the real purpose of “Lost”. It’s bringing co-workers together (though unproductively) and it’s creating lines of communication in marriages that did not exist prior.
It is sad though. Sad that I will have NOTHING to watch until the year 2010 which sounds very, very far away at this point. And it’s sad to know that when I do see “Lost” again, that’s it: the final season. What am I going to do on Wednesdays? We are going to be reduced to watching the type of shows people who aren’t smart enough to watch “Lost” watch…I won’t list any names, but Tyra Banks is likely associated with it in some way.

With that said, let’s try to dissect this, shall we?

Completely ‘Lost’ Recap: “Follow the Leader”

First and foremost ‘Lost’ fans-this week’s episode, “Follow the Leader” was total old school, bad-ass ‘Lost’. It didn’t focus on one person, it made you think, it made you rewind your Tivo 10-12 times, but most importantly, it reminded you why ‘Lost’ is currently the best show on television.

At the end of the show, I sat there with my jaw dropped. Once I composed myself, I started jumping up and down and squealing like I was a 13 year-old who just found out her dad scored Jonas Brothers tickets. It was beyond awesome. It was beyond amazing. It was vintage ‘Lost’.

Vintage ‘Lost’ is a surreal thing. It’s the kind of ‘Lost’ that makes your heart beat fast and keeps you awake for another hour (or two) after the show is over because you can’t stop thinking about it (Remember when Walt was taken? I didn’t sleep for days.). You know it’s vintage when you get to work in the morning and your inbox is already flooded with emails from your husband and your friend Lou speculating about what happened. I love Thursdays like this.

Back to the episode: The episode was titled “Follow the Leader”. It was a good title as we got to see what life is like if you follow each of the three leaders of the island: Jack, Locke, and that other guy who never should have been a leader…Sawyer. I will break this down by leader. It makes it easier.

Completely ‘Lost’ Recap: ‘Variables’

Hello “Lost” fans. I must begin this write up by announcing that this will contain spoilers about the episode “Variables”. I thought that was pretty much a given considering the title of my weekly write-ups about my fav show contains the word ‘RECAP’, but I actually received an email from an old friend damning me to the pits of hell for giving away information about the episode two weeks ago. My response was that I would announce that my write-ups contained spoilers and then I reminded him that he smelled badly in high school and that’s why I didn’t hang out with him. Hope that doesn’t hurt your feelings…if you’re even reading this.

Moving on….

“Variables” was a better episode than we have been getting the past few weeks. We did receive confirmations like Widmore + Eloise Hawkins = Daniel Faraday, and Widmore staged the fake Oceanic 815 crash. Here’s the thing, though. We already figured this out, right? I mean, I was calling this (and so were you) weeks ago.

Completely Lost Recap: “He’s Our You”

Lost fans, I am just not sure any about this one. I think I may have hyped myself up a bit which is why I feel slightly disappointed today. Maybe I need to go back to reading the spoiler boards or something, but last night’s episode, “He’s Our You”, left me flat.

Here’s why: if you promise me a Sayid-centric episode, I scream with delight. I love Sayid. Moreso, I love Sayid’s badassness (my new word to describe him). I will never get over Sayid breaking an other’s neck with his feet-definitely the COOLEST thing that television has ever shown. As you can imagine, my excitement level tripled when I read that “He’s Our You” was about Sayid. To add more gas to my fire, Directv provided me with a description of the show that simply read: Sayid goes rogue. YES!!!!!!! I literally jumped off my couch and nearly threw my laptop across the room. Sayid+rogue=Lost at its best.

So that is what I went into tonight’s episode with; the thought that this would be one of the best episodes yet. I don’t think the episode was bad, however, was it one of the best? Not really. I am not sure it even comes close to top 10.

Completely “Lost” Recap- “LaFleur”

OK “Lost” fans, brace yourselves. This week’s installment of our favorite show, “LaFleur” was what many of us call a ‘filler episode’. It showed us what happened to our friends on the island (Sawyer, Juliette, Miles, Daniel, and my boy Jin) during the three year absence of the Oceanic Six.

Instead of boring you all with a play-by-play recap (I mean, you did watch the show, right?), I will just give you the gist of it and then move on to what you all want to read about anyway: another one of my harebrained ideas of what is going on with this show.

Long Story Short (if I am capable of that)

The show begins oddly by showing Sawyer as part of the Dharma Initiative on a mission to stop good Old Horace Goodspeed from blowing himself up. However, I want to start back three years earlier where our dear island friends (and a clothed Sawyer-Boo! Hiss!) are going through a shift in time prior to my man Locke moving the frozen donkey wheel (weird). We are quickly shown a VERY Egyptian looking statue from behind. It’s obviously Egyptian since the statue is holding onto two ankhs. Is this the same four–toed statue we were introduced to (and then deserted from) two seasons ago? Don’t know. Here’s the speculation. In last week’s episode, we were shown Locke’s foot while it was in a cast. He had only four toes. This likely means the statue represents Locke. Since we didn’t see the feet of this statue, it is possible that they are one in the same (I will get to that connection later).

Time shifts again, though differently this time. As Miles describes, it was more like an earthquake than a flash. Daniel explains that the shifting is done and Juliette gives Locke mad props for making it all happen. Our friends no longer suffer from headaches or bloody noses and are ready to assimilate into whenever they are.
