Happy St. Patrick’s Day 2010

kiss-me-im-irish

To all my fellow Irish or those celebrating how much fun it is to be Irish, Happy St. Patrick’s day! In fact St. Patrick wasn’t even really Irish. He was a Welsh slave who was brought to Emerald Isle by some British lord. He then went and spread his religion across Ireland and was dubbed the country’s patron saint. There is a fun fact for you in case you are ever on Jeopardy or some other trivia game show in which useless knowledge can win you a lifetime supply of Rice-a-Roni.

So go celebrate with gluttonous indulgences in Guinness, cheese and potatoes. Here are some Irish Toasts for you to screw up at your local pub later tonight…

‘Beannachtam na Feile Padraig!’ – Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

“Here’s to you and yours, And to mine and ours, And if mine and ours ever come across you and yours, I hope you and yours will do as much for mine and ours and mine and ours have done for you and yours!”

My personal favorites:

“May you be in Heaven a half hour before the Devil knows you’re dead!”

“May you die in bed at 95, shot by a jealous spouse.”

Top 5 Hottest Irish Actors

In celebration of St. Patrick’s day I will no doubt be feasting on bangers and mash at my favorite Irish pub tonight and indulging in green beer. However, I’d thought I’d recognize those Irish actors who make ladies’ hearts go pitter-patter and some just happen to be on my “Things-To-Do-before-I-Die” list. This is simply gratuitous really. So enjoy!

5 -Most infamous would probably be Pierce Brosnan. He was born County Meath, Ireland, but he was raised in London after moving from his Irish digs at the age of 11. Pierce is most notable for his James Bond roles. He played the spy in 4 of the films before passing the role on.

4- Liam Neeson is object of my mother’s affection. (Sorry dad.) We have a family joke that he is secretly my father. (Again, sorry dad.) His good-guy persona conveys a sexy and mellow vibe. His films range from the romantic comedy, “Love Actually” to the recent thriller “Taken.”

3 – Cillian Murphy just oozes sex appeal. He is stunningly ‘pretty’ for man. You might recognize this sizzling Irishman from the scary stalker in “Red Eye.” His eyes could probably melt that panties off women (and some men).

2- Colin Farrell is notoriously a bad boy. He packs sexy in with a hot accent wrapped in naughty rebel. He was born in Dublin and graced the screen in a flick called “Tigerland.” The film launched him into the ranks of Hollywood’s hottest.

1- Jonathan Rhys Meyers is currently my number one conquest. He’s the type of guy who his a bad boy with a heart of gold. Meyers was also born in Dublin and thrown into stardom after appearing in an indie film called “Velvet Goldmine.” He looks like the type who would teach you a thing or two.
