Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to Co-Star in NON-Twilight Movie ?!?

robert-pattinson-sexy

If you are one of the Twi-hards that is a die-hard fan of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson being together, then you’ll probably like the new rumors of the two being in a love movie coming out that has nothing to do with the “Twilight” saga. Summit Entertainment, the company that is responsible for producing the Twilight films, may be considering the two for roles in the recently acquired “Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus,” book adaption, written by John Gray in 1992.

Per Perez Hilton:

Summit Entertainment has acquired all television and film rights to John Gray’s book Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus. No word yet on when, what or how the studio will use this new gem, but we imagine a Hollywood orgy in the vein of Valentine’s Day is coming our way.

At least that’s what the rumor is for right now. Currently no information is available about who else could potentially be involved in the project, but when it does we will definitely keep you guys updated. We all know how much Twi-hards need their Sparklepants fix.

Stephen Daldry A Candidate To Direct “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn”

Another Oscar nominated director has been linked to direct the last films in the “Twilight” saga. English director Stephen Daldry has been approached to take the reins for “Breaking Dawn,” the last book in the ‘Twilight’ series.

Stephen Daldry

According to Los Angeles Times, other critically-acclaimed directors had been approached to tackle the maybe-two-part film. Among the names are Bill Condon, Gus Van Sant, and Sofia Coppola.

Like those three, there are not yet indications Daldry would actually take the gig, but the fact that Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the films, has reached out to him suggests where its intentions lie for the fourth film. Having already gone indie with Catherine Hardwicke, polished/commercial with Chris Weitz and genre auteur with David Slade for the franchise’s first three movies, Summit clearly wants a high-end prestige filmmaker to handle the fourth picture.

Daldry’s prior film credits include “The Hours,” “Billy Elliot” and “The Reader,” for which actress Kate Winslet won an Academy Award. Van Sant is considered a favorite among several “Twilight” castmembers, including Robert Pattinson and Peter Facinelli. Melissa Rosenberg, who adapted the previous ‘Twilight’ movies, will also write the script for ‘Breaking Dawn’. Once the script is finished, only then formal offers to directors will be made. As of yet, there’s no indication either way whether these directors are interested in the gig. The filming for what will likely be two films will probably take place this fall.

Breaking Dawn Will NOT Be Two Films

The Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn“: One movie or two? That is the question. While Deadline Hollywood is insistent that we will indeed get a fourth and fifth movie out of the last installment of the popular franchise, representatives for Summit are keeping mum.

Per MTV:

“No decision has been made,” a representative for Summit Entertainment told MTV News after the Deadline Hollywood story ran. “As we have said all along, we are continuing to work with Stephenie Meyer to bring ‘Breaking Dawn’ to the big screen.”

While Deadline Hollywood goes on to claim that both parts of “Breaking Dawn” will reportedly shoot back-to-back beginning in mid October, and producers are searching for “high end” directors. Industry insiders think the film may be split by having one movie telling Bella’s story and the other would be from Jacob’s point of view. Many sites have “announced” the same facts over the last few months, all apparently premature. Summit has neither confirmed nor denied either rumor, but don’t be surprised if an announcement isn’t made soon. Everyone from movie producers to the stars has been saying “Breaking Dawn” would probably become two movies. Apparently the holdup in announcing was that the actors had signed for only four installments, so everyone had to renegotiate for a fifth – and there has been no official word on if they have indeed signed on yet. This is not the only snag standing in the way. The book may be difficult to make into a movie, as it includes – SPOILER ALERT for the few who have not read the book – not only an actual sex scene but also a C-section that skips the scalpel in favor of Edward’s teeth. The sex and teenage pregnancy written in the book may also have to face some serious revisions to get the PG-13 rating it needs for its target audience.

So until we have an official statement from Summit, right now its all purely speculation.

Twilight Saga: New Moon Soundtrack and New Movie Stills – Photos

All good things come to those who wait? Naaaahhhhh. The “New Moon” soundtrack was set to be released next Tuesday, but now it’s become one of the rare albums to have its release date pushed up. Summit Entertainment issued a release saying “due to overwhelming and unprecedented demand,” the soundtrack will come out this Friday!

Adding to the great news, Myspace announced earlier this week that starting yesterday the site will premiere songs from the album on its official New Moon profile, allowing fans to listen to all 15 tracks in their entirety legally. Led by Death Cab for Cutie’s with the official song for the movie titled “Meet Me on the Equinox“, the soundtrack album is made up solely of “original and exclusive” songs. Muse, who contributed to the first movies soundtrack, is making a return with another track titled “I Belong to You (New Moon)“. The line-up also include Thom Yorke, The Killers, and OK Go. Regardless of your level of affection for vampires who sparkle, the album has been getting pretty decent reviews and may be worth paying attention to even if you’re not swept into the whole “Twilight” hysteria. “New Moon” will open on November 20th, giving us fan enough time to reread the book with the soundtrack blaring in the background. Twi-hards, you now have 35 days from today to get this done!

In other related news, the official soundtrack for the first movie in the franchise, “Twilight.” is nominated in the category for favorite soundtrack at this years AMA’s, alongside the soundtracks for “Hannah Montana: The Movie” and “Hannah Montana 3.” If you’ve been living under a rock for the past year, some of the Twilight soundtrack artist include Paramore

with the movies official song “Decode“, Robert Pattinson, and Muse - just to name a few. The awards show will take place on ABC on November 22nd, just two days after The “Twilight Saga: New Moon” movie is released, and voting is still ongoing.

This is one franchise that has no signs of slowing down. “Overwhelming and unprecedented demand” is every movie exec’s dream. So be prepared for a few more years of Robert Pattinson and sparkling vampires. You have been warned.

‘Friends’ TV Hit Rumored To Become Movie

friends

A “Friends” spinoff movie appears to be closer than ever before after comments were made by James Michael-Tyler who played Gunther on the hit tv show, while in London for the launch of a Central Perk themed coffee shop in Soho this past weekend.

Per DailyMail.co.uk:

“‘Friends: The Movie’ is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen. The one thing I can tell you is that I am definitely on board to do the film. I really loved my time on the show and I am looking forward to meeting up with the old gang again. I just hope we can do justice to the show in a film.”

As if you need any reminders, the hit NBC series, which ran for 10 seasons, included ‘friends’ Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. Supposedly, it was the success of the “Sex and the City” movie has prompted Warner Brothers to produce a movie version of “Friends” and they “are prepared to pay a fortune to the stars.” Warner Brothers has also recruited the show’s creators, David Crane and Marta Kauffman, to write the script and produce the movie, with talk of a summer 2011 release.

So just what has our favorite ‘friends’ been up to since the series ended in 2004? Jennifer Aniston, who played spoiled rich girl Rachel Green, has had lead roles in films such as “Bruce Almighty“, “The Break-Up” and “Marley and Me.” She has her own production company with three films in post production and seven films in development. Courtney Cox, who played the neat freak Monica Gellar-Bing, has a new sitcom, “Cougar Town,” that premiered last week and is doing pretty well in the ratings. It is also being said that she will reprise her role as Gale Weathers in the 4th installment of the “Scream” movies. Lisa Kudrow, who played the weird but lovable Phoebe Buffay, played a mom in Summit Entertainment’s movie “Bandslam.” She is now an executive producer on the US version of “Who Do You Think You Are?” David Schwimmer, who played the 3 times divorced Ross Gellar, has done a bit of London theater after his small role in “Band of Brothers.” He also directed the 2007 British film “Run Fat Boy Run.” Matt LeBlanc, who played dumb ladies man Joey Tribbiani, had that flop of a TV comedy “Joey.” It was cancelled after just two seasons and he’s hardly been seen onscreen since. Matthew Perry, who played funnyman Chandler Bing, starred in “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,” but it was canceled after one season. Last time we saw him, he was really good as older Zac Efron in “17 Again.”

So just what would be the plot lines of this story? Would Monica and Chandler still be married? Will Joey and Phoebe eventually hook up? Will Ross and Rachel finally get over his cheating while on a break? Will Janice make a guest appearance? Only time will tell, I guess. But could we ‘be‘ anymore excited!?!

New Moon Teaser Trailer and Taylor Lautner’s Favorite Scene-Video

Thank goodness Summit Entertainment took my hate mail and multiple threats seriously.

Like many grown women who are currently infatuated with the ‘Twilight Saga’, I was dreading the fact that I was actually going to spend $7.50 on a ticket to see ‘Bandslam’ with the Cell-Phone Centerfold herself, Vanessa Hudgens, all in an attempt to get a glimpse of a fresh New Moon teaser trailer for ‘Twilight Saga: New Moon’. Yes, I have a problem. Yes, I should be seeking help and not be seeking pictures of Robert Pattinson’s nipples. But I can’t help myself.

Never fear though. If you are like me (and I KNOW some of you are out there. You’re probably asking yourself now if you should leave a comment) you can use that $7.50 on better things, like a margarita. Summit has released the 14 second teaser trailer which shows us nothing we haven’t seen before expect too much of Taylor Lautner’s wig.

Speaking of Taylor, while at the Teen Choice Awards this past Sunday, he revealed to MTV that his favorite scene in ‘New Moon’ wasn’t in Stephenie Meyer’s book.

Via MTV:

“I loved shooting the scenes with Embry and Quil,” he revealed. “Tyson [Houseman] plays Quil, and he’s just kind of a funny character.

“Me and Bella — I’m sorry, Bella and I — are working on the bikes, and Embry and Quil come in,” Lautner explained of the scene. “Quil’s checking out Bella [and trying to be smooth] and is like, ‘Hey, I’m Quil. Quil Ateara.’ It’s a really funny scene, and the two were really great in it.”

Ha ha ha! That is hil-arious!

Now, take your shirt off.

David Slade Set To Direct Third ‘Twilight’ Film: ‘Eclipse’

Another day, another “Twilight” story. This franchise sure knows how to enjoy the limelight.

Summit Entertainment announced today that David Slade has won the coveted director’s job for the third installment of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”. If you recall, Summit kicked around a few names before deciding on Slade, including actress turned director Drew Barrymore.

For those of you who may not know David Slade, he has a few directing jobs under his belt including the picture “30 Days of Night” about an Alaskan town that is ravaged by none other than vampires. I am sure Summit took this into consideration when they chose Slade for “Eclipse” which focuses further on the love triangle between Bella, played by Kristen Stewart, Jacob, played by Taylor Lautner, and Edward who Is portrayed by my lover, Robert Pattinson. OK. He isn’t my lover… yet. If the movie sticks with the same storyline as the book, the trio also has to deal with a bevy of newborn vampires who are set on attacking the good folks of Seattle.

Via Empire Online:

“Slade is certainly an interesting choice to follow Chris Weitz and Catherine Hardwicke behind the camera. With ‘30 Days Of Night’ and the excellent ‘Hard Candy’ on his CV, he’s proved that he can handle tougher material and splash the odd bucket of blood where necessary.”

“Hard Candy” is a crazy good flick. It stars an even younger than “Juno” Ellen Page who decides to turn the tables on a man whom she believes to be a pedophile.

“Eclipse” is set to hit theaters June 10, 2010.

Dakota Fanning Confirmed for New Moon

I knew it was only going to be a matter of time before it was announced, but since filming starts this month, I was getting antsy on whether Dakota Fanning was going to play Jane in “New Moon“. And she is! Thanks to People, Summit Entertainment has confirmed this fun piece of information!

And the other good news is that all the flims are going to be done back to back. I knew about “Eclipse” being done right after “New Moon” but hadn’t heard about “Breaking Dawn” being put into the mix. This is good! This means Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won’t be doing this series well into his 40′s. You know, unlike the “Harry Potter” franchise, whose stars are going to be 21 and older by the time it’s done. Good on Summit for learning from other’s mistakes.

Now! All we need is confirmation on who is playing Leah Clearwater!! I am ready!! Filming is starting soon! Common Summit, make another announcement!

Drew Barrymore to Direct Third “Twilight” Film: “Eclipse”

As The Dame reported to you last week, “New Moon” director, Chris Weitz will not direct the third “Twilight” film “Eclipse” due to time constraints (i.e. Summit Entertainment is pushing hard for the third movie to be released during the prime summer 2010 season against such films as “The Avengers” and the final “Harry Potter” film).

Summit announced today that they are already talking to a select group of directors to take control of “Eclipse” and one of those people is actress turned director (and former rehab star) Drew Barrymore.

Via EW.com:

“While this news may come as a surprise to some, Barrymore did just finish work on her directorial debut, ‘Whip It!’ starring Ellen Page.”

Choosing Drew is a bad choice on behalf of Summit. Not only does Barrymore only have the one film under her director’s belt, but “Whip It” is a movie about women in a Roller Derby, not even close to vampire armies and werewolves that will require use of CGI and other special effects. Perhaps she should stick to her day job of starring in chick-flicks and peddling Cover Girl mascara to the masses.
