Hollywood Dame’s Exclusive Interview – Greyson Chance

Internet sensation and pop/rock prodigy Greyson Chance announced recently on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that his debut album, “Hold On ‘Til the Night,” will be released on August 2nd (eleveneleven/Maverick/Geffen). Chance also performed his second single, “Unfriend You,” an up-tempo ballad about heartbreak in modern times which is currently available wherever music is sold digitally. The majority of “Hold On ‘Til the Night” was written by Chance: the album was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by The Matrix (Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne, Jason Mraz, Britney Spears), Billy Steinberg (Enrique Iglesias, Katherine McPhee, Miranda Cosgrove) and Ron Fair (Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Black Eyed Peas).

‘Glee’s’ Matthew Morrison’s First Single Debuts

‘Glee’s’ Matthew Morrison released his first single “Summer Rain” on Ryan Seacrest’s morning radio show off of his upcoming album and it’s all about having sex in the rain on a rooftop! I dare you to make it through the entire song without convulsing in laughter.

Per People:

When Seacrest noted the song wasn’t as “poppy” as some of the Glee cast’s offerings, Morrison agreed. “I want to stay a little bit away from Glee,” he said, adding that he believed to “be taken seriously, I had to write my own songs” – which he did.

Morrison will perform the song live on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno‘ on April 6th, and on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show‘ on April 11th. The song was co-written by Morrison along with Claude Kelly and the production duo Espionage, who brought you Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister,” among many other singles. This ode to a very R-rated public display of affection has sort of a feel good Jack Johnson style vibe. His new CD will be released in May, featuring a duet with Elton John and “old school soul”. Listen to the song above and let us know what you think. Frankly, I just can’t wait for the video (I’m assuming there will be gratuitous shirtless shots of Morrison).

Kanye West Replaces Teeth With Diamonds – Video

Well, that’s it. I give up. I was holding out hope he’d turn into someone decent eventually.

Kanye West has found quite the way to keep his smile sparkling – by replacing his teeth with diamonds. West showed off his expensive new look in an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Tuesday and told Ellen the reason why he felt he needed to replace his teeth.

Per Daily Mail:

‘I just thought that diamonds were cooler,’ he told her, saying he asked the dentist to remove his bottom row of teeth and replace them.

Wonder how long until he’s mugged because someone wants his ‘million dollar smile.’ As if anyone needed any more reasons to punch him in the mouth…

Adam Lambert Says He Meant No Disprespect

Adam Lambert has had to answer a lot of questions about his provocative American Music Awards performance over the last week or so, and the questions don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. He’ll once again open up about the performance that shocked some people when he appears on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” He admitted that he may have crossed a line or two during the performance, but says that he’s still learning. Lambert also said he didn’t “intend to disrespect anyone” with the performance and that he has no hard feelings toward ABC, which canceled his “Good Morning America” appearance after his risky performance. Following the performance, Lamberts mom supported him on “The Early Show,” but Lambert his dad thought he should have apologized.

Per Celebitchy:

“My dad was like, ‘Maybe you should apologize, Adam,’” he says on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday. “I was like, “You know, dad, I don’t feel like I did anything wrong. It just wasn’t maybe the right judgment call. It’s a taste thing more than an obscenity thing. I think it’s just a taste level.’”

As for ABC and Good Morning America, he claims they were ‘a little mad’ at him and that he doesn’t blame them, saying they gave him a ‘great opportunity’ and that he would ‘never want to smack that gift horse in the mouth.’ Well I’m glad that he is finally admitting that his actions were a bit inappropriate for network tv. Adam is very talented and should be known for his vocals, not his antics. What Lambert really needs is someone besides himself to make PR and creative decisions. I still cannot believe he didn’t know that the family viewers who supported him on “American Idol” wouldn’t be offended by his AMA shenanigans.

Ellen DeGeneres Sued!

ellen-degeneres-sued

Oh the travesty! Talk show queen Ellen DeGeneres & her talk show’s producers for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” are being sued for the use of music during the “dance over” segment at the beginning of each show, where Ellen dances through the audience to some music having a good time interacting with everyone and it’s so hilarious and even I laugh. But the record companies don’t find it to be too funny – because they weren’t paid their licensing fees!

Per Huffington Post:

“As sophisticated consumers of music, Defendants knew full well that, regardless of the way they rolled, under the Copyright Act, and under state law for the pre-1972 recordings, they needed a license to use the sound recordings lawfully,” the suit states.

Plaintiffs include Arista Music, Atlantic Recording Corp., Capitol Records, Motown Record Company, Sony Music Entertainment, Virgin Records America and Warner Bros. Records. Typically, Ellen’s show plays less than 30 seconds of a song and it can be argued that it falls under fair use. Ellen’s people say they didn’t “roll that way,” on licensing, but they seriously need to come up with a better defense on that one!

Ellen’s show has been on the air for 6 years, so why are the record companies just now filing a suit?

Quoteables:

Evil Beat Gossip: “I’ll tell you what’s funny, though — no one would have reported on this story if Ellen hadn’t been named the fourth Idol judge this week. Success is a bitch.”

Gawker - “Here we thought the music industry was about bringing happiness into an otherwise dismal existence. Now we learn they’re only about profits. The horror!”
