It’s official: After much speculation on whether she will stay, go, or be replaced (read about that here), Mary Hart has just announced that her final year on the show will be “Entertainment Tonight’s” upcoming 30th season, which launches in September.
Per PopEater:
“It will certainly be with mixed sentiments that I say ‘goodbye’ at the end of the season, but it will definitely be with a sense of celebration … 30 years of Entertainment Tonight, are you kidding me?” she said. “That’s an accomplishment and something I’m very proud of!”
Hart, a 1999 inductee into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame, joined “ET” in 1982. No immediate successor was named, but “The Insider” anchor Lara Spencer has been mentioned as a possible replacement.
First class lady. You will be missed, Mary!
