Mel Gibson on ‘Tonight Show’ with Jay Leno – VIDEO

Mel Gibson showed up to ‘The Tonight Show’ to try and dispel those nasty rumors that he doesn’t like people of the Jewish faith. He laughed off all his anger issues and penchant for throwing four letter words around like drunken Irish sailor with tourettes while trying to charm us into finding his psychotic tirades as some sort of endearing quality.

Conan O’Brien Back On TBS Tonight!

It’s been 10 long months but finally Conan O’Brien is back!! He will debut is his new show ‘Conan‘ on TBS tonight at 11pm. What can we expect? (To catch you up — Conan has been off the air since January, when NBC canceled Jay Leno’s prime-time hour after the ratings went south. NBC bought out O’Brien and his team for around $40 million to clear the way for Leno to reclaim the position as ‘The Tonight Show‘ host. It was the same position handed off to O’Brien last year.)

Tonight, Conan will debut with sidekick Andy Richter making a comeback along with a new band leader Jimmy Vivino. Guest on Conan will include Seth Rogen, ‘Glee’ star Lea Michele as well as a performance by Jack White. Week 1 guests include Tom Hanks and Jack McBrayer on Tuesday, Jon Hamm on Wednesday and Michael Cera on Thursday.

Per Showbiz Spy:

“I want to talk to people who are good at a craft, people who work with their hands. We’re going to talk to a lot of upholsterers. And we may have financial penalties. If Jim Carrey or Tom Hanks accidentally mentions his project, I think the viewer should be compensated in some way. That would be a way to turn this economy around.”

Should be a good one! Will you be tuning in?

New Music Friday – Right The Stars

http://www.mediafire.com/?ozwityoo0jw

Expressing the complexities of human emotions mixed with transcendent pop rhythms all his own is what singer/songwriter Rich Jacques does best through “Right The Stars,” the band name under which he records and performs. He grew up in Wisconsin, seeing California on TV and wondering why he was living in the freezing cold. In 2000, Jacques moved to Los Angeles and decided to take a break from music, only to end up right back with what he loves most but in a different form. He became a music teacher, taking on students young and old, one of which was Ben Affleck.

Two years later, he returned to the stage with Chantal Kreviazuk, a singer/songwriter with whom he toured and opened for Jason Mraz and appeared in The Tonight Show and the Craig Kilborn Show. Eager to expand his relationship with music, he made the move to production in 2006 and has since collaborated with artists like Kina Grannis, Rob Giles and Joey Fatone in his Hollywood studio, The White Room. Today, Jacques produces music for artists as well as TV and film and is releasing a self-titled album as Right The Stars. The CD includes unpretentious tunes and totally relatable realizations (she could not be anybody different and I could never change the way I am, – “Let Go of Her Hand”) as well as heartbreaking personal confessions (and I don’t know the reason but then pleasin’ people’s all I really know, – “South Indian Monkey Trap”). His songs range from the deep and intricate “Making Deals with God” to the frustration of a relationship in “Time”, a title featured in the movie “The Break Up,” and the simple, playful and upbeat “We Got It All”, written for movie “Couples Retreat.”

Right The Stars songs have found their way onto a number of TV shows and movies. Recently, they were heard on “One Tree Hill” and will soon be heard in the new Brooke Shields and Brendan Frasier movie called “Furry Vengeance.” You can listen to the song “We Got It All” above.

Howard Stern Bashes Jay Leno – Video

Howard Stern has no love for Jay Leno, and he’s surely not afraid to say it! CBS’ “The Early Show” gave the sometimes shocking radio host time Tuesday morning to slam the “Tonight Show” host when Harry Smith asked Stern about the Leno move on NBC – sending Stern launching into a mighty attack on Leno.

Per NY Daily News:

“Just the mere mention of Jay Leno’s name makes me to want to vomit,” Stern told “Early Show” anchor Harry Smith — who, not surprisingly, barely got a word in. “I don’t like this guy,” Stern said. “I don’t disguise it.”

The shock jock spoke to CBS live from his Sirius XM Radio studio for close to five minutes, once again accused Leno of stealing material from himself, David Letterman and even people in England. Stern said he felt that after Leno’s 10pm time slot failed, the respectable thing would have been for him to move to a new network and face Conan O’Brien and Letterman’s shows head-on.

“Jay Leno seems to be the kind of showbiz animal that won’t let go,” Stern said. “Jay is a lap dog.”

Ouch. I wouldn’t expect to see Stern on Leno’s lineup anytime soon.

Conan O’Brien to Leave NBC for FOX

[Conan O’Brien Slams NBC – Video]

Conan O’Brien is reportedly upset with NBC’s plan to move his Tonight Show to a midnight time slot to make room for Jay Leno, considering NBC’s offer unacceptable. And can you blame him?

Per NYPost:

“This level of sh- – -iness was not expected,” one source said. “He’s done a great job for NBC. He moved his entire staff, he moved his family to LA. And five months later, they repay him like this?”

Network Chairman Jeff Gaspin confirmed that he was hoping to pull off a new late-night arrangement after the Winter Olympics: Leno at 11:35 p.m. hosting a half-hour show, and Conan at 12:05 a.m. hosting the one-hour “The Tonight Show.” Jimmy Fallon’s “Late Night” would then be pushed back to 1:05 a.m. O’Brien hasn’t yet accepted NBC’s take-it-or-leave-it offer to move to 12, and the Post’s source says that he might be “happier somewhere else.” If O’Brien and NBC can’t come to terms, Conan may not have to look far for a new job. Fox, who initially offered O’Brien a show before cooling on the idea, is reportedly interested in him again and looking to create its own late-night show.

Per The Wrap:

“We’ve always been interested in late night and we’re always looking to bring great new talent to Fox,” a network source told TheWrap.

Though Conan remains under contract with NBC, Fox feels he would be “a great fit.” Fox and the rest of the TV world continue to watch the NBC late-night drama unfold, waiting to find out which way each hosts fall. I think Conan would be much better off on Fox given the hot-cold relationship he’s had with NBC.

Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien NBC Shake-Up

jay-leno-vs-conan

Apparently, Jay Leno’s new show is falling hard. So hard that local networks are complaining that, due to poor viewership of ‘The Jay Leno Show,’ their nightly newscasts are losing viewers by the truckloads.

Yesterday, TMZ reported that NBC decided to move Leno back to his original 11:30 PM time-slot.

“We’ve learned Jay’s 10:00 PM show will go on hiatus February 1. After the Olympics, Jay will take back his 11:30 PM time slot. What has not been decided — whether Jay’s show will be a half hour, followed by Conan, or whether Jay’s show will be an hour and NBC says sayonara to Mr. O’Brien.”

However, other sources are revealing that’s not so much the case.

Via Deadline Hollywood:

“On tonight’s monologue, Jay Leno sounds upset, even going so far to say he has “trust” issues with NBC right now. Which indicates that Leno and his reps are fighting NBC’s attempts to cancel The Jay Leno Show at 10 PM primetime Monday through Friday. That would violate his 5-year contract in which the network gave his show a 2-year iron-clad commitment. But NBC doesn’t want to absorb the penalty — ‘it’s just too big’ — so their solution is to find a place for Jay in late night. But, wait — wouldn’t Leno like NBC’s idea to return him to the 11:35 PM time slot he called home from 1992-2009? Not so much if it’s an abbreviated half-hour that’s just a lead-in to Conan. That’s right, TMZ is wrong: I’m telling you that Leno is not being offered The Tonight Show.”

Perhaps we should settle this the old-fashioned way with a Hamilton vs. Burr style duel? My money is on the redhead.

Conan O’Brien to be Replaced by Seinfeld !?!

conan-obrien

According to Entertainment Weekly, this year The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien had its lowest November ratings in 15 years, losing 52% of its viewership as opposed to last year since O’Brien took over for Jay Leno. Could NBC possibly be changing it up if the ratings continue to fall? Apparently so, as rumors are circulating that NBC is reportedly looking for a replacement, beginning informal talks to find a new late night funny man for the time slot.

Per Popeater:

“NBC just can’t carry on like this. ‘The Tonight Show’ has lost 52 percent of its viewership in just one year. The November ratings will be the show’s lowest in 15 years. They would be idiots to not be having the replacement conversation,” a source tells me.

Insiders are saying the one man on top of everyone’s wish list is Jerry Seinfeld. However, getting him to commit is another thing, and that seems to be a longshot. Conan’s people are vehemently denying the speculation.

“Completely false. There are no conversations happening. Conan is the host of the ‘Tonight Show.”

Sounds to me like someones in denial.
