Michael Douglas is beating his throat cancer. The ‘Wall Street’ star shared with Matt Lauer (and his furry abs) that his tumor is gone. During the interview on the ‘Today Show’ he seemed to be in great spirits and even joked a bit.

“”The odds are, with the tumor gone and what I know about this particular type of cancer, that I’ve got it beat. It’s put a timeline on my life,” Douglas said. “I’m 66 now. You know, I’m fortunate I’ve got a mother who’s 88. She’ll kill me. She may be 87. My father’s 94. So, you know, I feel good about those genes. But it’s definitely a third act. And so you’re a little more conscious of your time in how you choose to spend it.”

The iconic actor said he is still has monthly check ups to ensure the cancer doesn’t return. Douglas is even putting weight back on after losing 32 pounds. He has put 12 back on and says his appetite has returned. With all that he has been through he looks forward to all that is in store for him.

Via MSNBC:

“You know, maybe it has to do because of everything life threatening. So all of a sudden the affection from my family, from my friends, and from my fans hit me at a much deeper level than I would have ever imagined before. And it gave me a really new appreciation of just how valuable, how precious good friends are and family. And it’s not that I disregarded them before but there’s a much deeper feeling. And I’ve talked to other cancer survivors about this, that — that happens, that you just really, really appreciate what’s important in life.”

I love waking up to good news. It makes my little no-heart feel warm and tingly. Or it may be acid reflux. Either way, great news!

Jay-Z Is Defending Kanye West

With George W. Bush out promoting a book and Kanye West promoting an album, Kanye’s now-infamous Hurricane Katrina line, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” is back in the news. In a series of ‘Today’ show interviews, Bush called Kanye’s statement disgusting. Kanye said he understood how Bush felt and Bush said he appreciated Kanye’s apology – and then Kanye got really angry at Matt Lauer. Anyways, in a radio interview yesterday Jay-Z defended Kanye’s initial comment, which was made during a telethon for Hurricane Katrina relief back in 2005.

Per MTV:

“It was bad timing, but it was absolutely an honest emotion,” he said. “We all felt like that. We didn’t feel like Katrina was a natural disaster. We felt like it as an attack on black people. All you saw was black people on the roof with HELP signs. … White people felt like that.”

Interestingly enough, Jay-Z also blamed “bad timing” for the backlash against Kanye’s interruption of Taylor Swift at last year’s “MTV Video Music Awards”. Oh, and he seems to agree that Beyonce‘s video was better than Taylor’s.

“If we look back, everyone would agree that he was right. It was bad timing. It was not her fault. It’s not Taylor Swift’s fault. She didn’t nominate … she didn’t elect herself. She just sat there and she had a dream and she’s seeing that dream being realized, and he had the same dream, so he realizes that now. He was fighting for the integrity of the award, and he knows how hard he works on his videos. It was bad timing, but we agreed.”

Of course he agreed. He’s MARRIED to Beyonce. We should ask Taylor’s mom who had the better video. I wonder what she’d say?

Matt Lauer put on his skinny trousers, undid his top button and got out his serious journalist glasses to talk about New Orleans, her adorable son Louis, poop schedules and privacy with Bullock on the “Today Show.” No direct mention of Jesse or his dirty pirate hooker parade, but you could tell Sandy is over it.

Lady Gaga Today Show VIDEO – Angers Fans After Failed Pizza Promise

Lady Gaga hit the Today Show this morning and treated screaming fans to some musical treats. She started with a Gershwin ballad ‘Someone to Watch Over Me,’ while wearing a white bra and blazer and surrounded in smokey fog to the point you could barely see her. That performance was followed by “Bad Romance.”

She sat at the piano as rain poured down, sipping tea and thanked fans, radio stations and the gay community for endless support. Gaga also treated fans to a new track called “You and I.” She explained that she wrote the song for some of the most important people in her life and stressed that is a bit different than the rest of the album. I love that she was sipping tea from a fancy cup and then strapped two mini spaghetti strainers onto her head and performed.

The performance on the show ended with my least favorite Gaga song, “Alejandro.”

Thousands of fans from all across the nation waiting on line for 24 hours for Lady Gaga’s free concert were promised free pizza from Lady Gaga herself on Twitter. The fans went hungry all night long when there was not enough pizza to go around and thousands were glued to their coveted spot and had no food. To make up for the hunger, Jay Zevi of Pizza Packet will be throwing New York City’s largest Gaga pizza party for the fans who went cheese less. Over 10,000 slices will be distributed to Lady Gaga fan club members and spectators.

13 Year-Old Kayla Manson Drops the “C” Word on the ‘Today Show’-VIDEO NSFW

In a true answer to the age old question, ‘What is the world coming to?’ I present to you 13 year-old Kayla Manson.

WARNING: The following video contains harsh language and may not be suitable for all ears.

While being interviewed by Meredith Viera on ‘The Today Show’ yesterday, precious little Kayla dropped the dreaded C-Bomb of bad words not once, but twice!

Via Oh No They Didn’t:

“This morning’s c**t bomb on Today was bittersweet, because it came from a 13-year-old girl who is a possible accomplice to a brutal beating of another girl over text messages. And the girl didn’t namedrop Heather Mills just once. Girl did it twice!”

That’s right kittens, not only is Kayla sugar and spice and all things nice, she’ll also cut a bitch if you send her a text message.

Youth is wasted on the young.

Time Magazine’s Person of the Year 2009 – Ben Bernanke

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Time Magazine Managing Editor Rick Stengel talked to Matty Cakes on the ‘Today Show’ to announce the ho of the year. Matt Sex-On-A-News-Anchor-Stick and Not-the-Red-Head-On-the-View took turns guessing who Time’s Person of the Year for 2009 would be. Finally, Rick announced it was some guy I admittedly never heard of.

“The winner is Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, the most powerful, least understood government force shaping our lives. He was the great scholar of the Depression, and basically he saw what looked like another Depression coming and he decided he would do whatever it takes to forestall that,” Stengel said. “And basically he did.”

I know, I know. I really should know who this guy is and all the important shiz he does on a daily basis. Politics are obviously not my bag, but in my defense I could probably drink him under the table. Anyway, congrats to Ben despite the fact that Surprised Kitty was robbed of the title.

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag Get Owned by Al Roker – Video

Two of the biggest wastes of space hit the Today Show and were bent over by Al Roker for behaving like 5 year olds with decent bank accounts.

Typically I don’t like to post anything on these two because (a) it is a waste of my time and (b) they don’t deserve it. However, I find it amusing that Roker must have drawn the short straw and had to interview these two morons. He clearly wasn’t thrilled with it and you could tell he was over it. After being owned by Al, Heidi was crying about it because that’s the extent of her talents.

Per Ryan Seacrest:

“I was shocked at how rude he was – I was crying afterwards because I couldn’t believe I felt personally attacked,” said Montag. “I wanted to say to him, do you feel proud of how you’re talking to me right now? I’m just a young woman and you’re coming at me so aggressively and meanly [sic] and mean-spirited.”

“I just wanted to talk about the show and my experience there and how fun it was, and he just made it a very uncomfortable and awful experience,” said Montag. “I really would advise women especially to be careful around him because I feel like he definitely came and attacked me and I did not appreciate that at all.”

Al Roker is my hero for the day. He also Roker Twittered his feelings that Speidi will soon be a thing of the past.

Quotables:

Bumpshack – “Heidi was probably just upset that Al kept giving her his ‘Roker Face, Roker Face.’

Beyonce’s Real Vocals – Audio

[Beyonce Real, Live Vocals - Audio]

Good ol’ TMZ got a hold of an audio clip of Beyonce’s live vocals during her November “Today Show” appearance. First, Howard Stern aired out the pre-shopped vocals on his radio show. Typically Beyonce has some back up singers and a song board to buffer out all the bad. It isn’t as bad as Britney Spears’ live vocals (see below.)

See…it could always be worse.

Tom Cruise on the “Today Show” – Video

Tom Cruise was back on the “Today Show” for another rematch with Matt Lauer. Back in 2005 Cruise went on a psychiatric rant and called Matt “glib.” (Glib definition – shallow and lacking thought or preparation or fluent in a superficial or insincere way. So he pretty much used a fancy word for stupid douche.) This morning he was back on the show and once again talking about the past and even called himself “arrogant.”

On the “you don’t know the history of psychiatry” scandal
Lauer: This isn’t a rematch… Without going into the subject matter I’m just curious, what was the reaction on your end to the last time we sat down?
Cruise: I went back and I looked at it… I thought about it a lot seriously. It was a subject matter that’s important and being debated in the public and that’s where it should be. After looking at it I really thought, it’s not what I had intended. In looking at it I thought ‘that came across arrogant.’ That’s one of those things you go ‘OK, I could have absolutely handled that better….’ I didn’t communicate it the way I wanted to communicate it. That’s not the person that I am.”

On the press backlash against him and how he dealt with it
Cruise: I think it was a confluence of events that happened at that time. I think it was at the end of a PR tour a lot of stuff was going on.”
Lauer: How do you deal with it emotionally?
Cruise: I learned a really good lesson… I understand the spin of it. I’ve lived 25 years of this kind of stuff. Certainly things were also twisted and misrepresented. I just take responsibility for it… good lessons. I’m here to entertain people. Certain issues and things… have a time and a place and proper environment. When I’m promoting films… that’s what I want to talk about.

On whether he wants to talk about Scientology
Lauer: It’s my understanding you decided don’t want to talk about Scientology any more.
Cruise: That’s actually not true. It’s something – I’ve been a Scientologist 25 years… I think there’s a time and a place for it. Things can get misunderstood and twisted. When people are tuning in to hear about my movie… that’s what I’m here to talk about. If I don’t talk about it, it’s like ‘why aren’t you talking about it?’ If I do talk about it, it’s like ‘you’re proselytizing.’
I’m here to entertain people.

Really? Entertaining people is your main goal in life? Egads. Better take up knitting or something Tommy.
