Jessica Simpson Engagement Ring – PHOTOS

Jessica Simpson and her out of work boyfriend announced their engagement just days after her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, announced he was going to be marrying Vanessa Minnillo. Insert a million PR stunt queen jokes here. It’s far too easy to think of Creepy Papa Joe offering Eric Johnson a lifetime supply of mac and cheese (the good kind), a 3-year subscription to Field and Stream magazine and all a nacho cheese fountain in exchange for an engagement ring.

Jessica was pimping her clothing collection at Dillards in Kansas City on Saturday and wearing what is rumored to be her engagement ring. It is a 3-stone ring with a center ruby stone that is flanked by two diamonds.

I shouldn’t be so mean. I am sure it is really had nothing to do with Nick. Papa Joe’s trip to Jared’s fall clearance bin was actually just holiday shopping and Eric attending his Stunt Queens Club and swearing on a stack of Us Weekly’s was purely coincidental.

Jessica Simpson Reacts To Ex Husband Nick Lachey’s Engagement

Last week was big for celebrity engagements, among the happy couples – Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo. Ex-wife Jessica Simpson knew the day would come when the man she let get away would propose to another woman. And now friends say she’s “deeply saddened.”

Per Vancouver Sun:

“Even though Jessica wants to be happy for Nick, this is a very difficult time for her. Nick was the love of her life then and he was her first, so she will always have a very special place in her heart for him.”

It was only months after Nick’s ugly divorce from Jessica that he started dating Vanessa back in 2006 and last Thursday they sealed the deal! The happy couple told Us Weekly that they were excited about their engagement and look forward to a wonderful future together. Simpson insiders are saying Jessica has yet to contact Nick to say congrats, and that it’s possible it may stay that way for a while – somebody’s jealous.

P.S. — Ladies, have you seen the size of that ring! It’s massive!

Jessica Simpson Slumming It To Get Nick Lachey Back

Oh Jessica… please, tell me there is some form of rationalization up in that head of yours other than trying to figure out if country music is really the best career choice for you. For about the millionth time this year, rumors are circulating that bubble-headed Jessica Simpson is again trying her best to woo back her ex husband Nick Lachey, this time in a desperate bid to make him jealous by hooking back up with her other ex, John Mayer.

Per OK:

“Nick is the guy Jess knew she should be with, but they were too young and their lives catapulted so quickly into fame that they never seemed to be able to catch up,” a pal says of the Newlyweds co-stars, who ended their three marriage in 2005. “She’s changed so much since they split and found out a lot about herself.”

Alot about herself, huh… Lets hope she’s got that whole Chicken/Tuna debate all figured out! Jessica recently was dumped by her last ex, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, while Lachey just smartly ditched his neurotic & wanna-be actress girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo – so could a possible reconciliation by the couple be in the works?

Per OK:

“He’ll always hold a special place in her heart. It was her first love,” the pal says of their marriage. “Jess isn’t sure if Nick would give her a chance at this point, but she’d love to be friends. She says a part of her will always love him.”

According to reports, Jessica’s way of getting her ex to take notice is by having a public affair with a “sexy rocker” – Cue John Mayer. Please Jessica… move on. Find someone new. Especially someone other than John Mayer unless you want your entire relationship Twittered about! But hey – it might just be working. Nick has recently been spotted out with a Jessica look-alike, Holly Letchworth. Could he also be trying to make Jessica jealous herself?

Or you know more realistically, he could just have a thing for blondes. I’m just saying…
